BALTIMORE – Public interest in the prosecution of six Baltimore police officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray will not diminish enough to seat an impartial jury in the city in time for the officers’ October trials, their attorneys argued in a new court filing Monday.

Because of that, the attorneys wrote, the case should be removed from the city now — without waiting, as prosecutors have suggested, to see how the intense scrutiny of the case plays out.

“The feeling of unrest among city residents is still chillingly evident as violent crime continues to climb to the highest level in decades, police and community relations remain embattled, and Freddie Gray remains fresh in the minds of Baltimore City citizens,” the officers’ attorneys wrote. The details of a Cincinnati mob riot this weekend appear customarily poured through the MSM PC-filter, receiving editorial board cleanup prior to publication/broadcast.  However, social media accounts, as customary in an era where media are afraid to tell the truth, construct a more honest version of events.

The local media accounts read as follows:

As Downtown fireworks and the Reds game came to an close around 11 p.m. Saturday night, about 3,000 people were gathered on and around Fountain Square for a concert.

Within minutes, portions of the crowd turned raucous, and the night came to an abrupt end with seven arrests, two assaulted police officers, an “innocent” man in the hospital and looming questions of safety for the impending All-Star Game.

In addition, the Laredo Police Department continuously encountered the man in violent episodes with his wife, yet did not notify Border Patrol, according to federal agents who spoke with Breitbart Texas on the condition of anonymity.

I doubt you could find a more succinct presentation of the moral divide currently infecting the U.S. In this example a liberal professor says the very construct of reason and virtue is a white anglo-perspective that non-whites are incapable of understanding. In the most direct of terms, this professor is stating -albeit without accepting- that segregation is the only recourse.  This is the exact ideological world view of George Bernard Shaw and the original Fabian socialists.

Prof. John Caputo was being interviewed by fellow philosophy professor George Yancy for the 13th installment of an interview series Yancy conducts with philosophers regarding racial topics.

Given its emphasis on first principles and abstract thought, it may be tempting to view academic philosophy as a turf where the race of participants matters little, but Caputo says that’s entirely untrue. Kathryn “Kate” Steinle, 32, was shot to death in broad daylight by alleged shooter Francisco Sanchez in front of her dad and a friend.  Sanchez, 45, is a 7-time felon who should have been handed over to immigration authorities following a Bay Area arrest four months ago. Kate’s mother, 69-year-old Liz Sullivan said, “She just kept saying, ‘Dad, help me, help me'”. Two television news crews reporting on the killing were later mugged at the scene, with a masked gunman pistol-whipping a camera operator.

On June 24th we somewhat sarcastically predicted that PGA golfer Bubba Watson would be sucked into the ridiculous vortex that is “confederate flag syndrome”.

Today, that ridiculous prediction has come true.

Golf star Bubba Watson will paint over the Confederate flag on the General Lee, a prop car from the television show “The Dukes of Hazzard,” in light of the brewing controversy over the flag.  (link)

Oddly enough, when looking back through the Treehouse archives to get the link to the Bubba Watson prediction, we discovered this earlier prediction from April 2014 when spontaneous acts of confederacy were not being nationally reported.

WASHINGTON (AP) — New York hedge fund billionaire George Soros and Hollywood director Steven Spielberg are among the biggest donors to a super PAC backing Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential run, according to a super PAC official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss fundraising.

In all, the super PAC Priorities USA Action will report having raised $15.6 million in the past three months when it files its fundraising information this month with the Federal Election Commission. Super PACs can take donations of unlimited size. The biggest gift was worth $2 million and came from media mogul Haim Saban, owner of the Spanish-language Univision network.

Donors include film producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, investor Donald Sussman, Boston political activist Barbara Lee and the Plumbers and Pipefitters union. Actress Katie McGrath and her husband, producer J.J. Abrams, also contributed. (more…)

Shockingly, none of the 144 murdered were killed by flags.  Mayor Rawlings-Blake says the current level of slaughter is “disheartening”.  Last month, Rawlings-Blake said city police officers need to do their jobs or face internal discipline…

BALTIMORE – Danielle Wilder said she has moved from her Baltimore home but isn’t telling anyone — even family members — where she lives now..

“The next thing, one of us will be dead. We don’t know. We have moved, and I have not given my address to family members. We just don’t know,” she said.

Wilder lost her sister, Jennifer Jeffrey-Browne, 31, and nephew, 7-year-old Kester “Tony” Browne, last month when the mother and son were found shot to death in their Southwest Baltimore home.

The Brownes are two of the city’s 144 homicide victims in the first six months of the year, a 48 percent increase over last year. Much of the surge in violence has come in the aftermath of the April 19 death of Freddie Gray, which touched off protests, rioting, looting and arson in the city. (more…)
