Unfortunately such is the state of current affairs. A prominent Egyptian official is telling his constituency, and the world, the reason Egypt and U.S. relations are so poor is because President Obama and John Kerry demand the Severe Islamists be included in policy decisions.
Egypt categorically rejects the considerations of radical Islamic extremism, and will not bow to pressure from the United States to be more accommodating toward the radicals within the Muslim Brotherhood.
Fatah el-Sisi is going to be speaking to the U.N. General Assembly in New York on September 25th. I’m thinking that David Cameron and President Obama should be forced to sit in the front row and listen to a real leader who understands the extremist problem.

(EGYPT) Nabil Fahmy, the former Egyptian foreign minister and a previous ambassador to the US, said that relations between Cairo and Washington remain strained because of the US’s insistence of allowing Islamists to participate in the political process.
In an Egyptian television interview on Sunday evening, Fahmy said that “the Americans have not appropriately learned the lesson of dealing with terrorism” and that they “contacted us constantly in order to integrate streams of political Islam into the political process,” the Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry al-Youm reported.
He added, however, that Egypt “pursued the will of the people” and did not give in to outside pressure. (more…)

Meanwhile in Liberia society has turned downright medieval. (more…)
NEW YORK – With Albany rocked by a seemingly endless barrage of scandals and arrests, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo set up a high-powered commission last summer to root out corruption in state politics. It was barely two months old when its investigators, hunting for violations of campaign-finance laws, issued a subpoena to a media-buying firm that had placed millions of dollars’ worth of advertisements for the New York State Democratic Party. Maybe they should pass some strict gun control laws or something. No, wha… wait.
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – It was a violent night in New York City after at least 13 people were shot in incidents spanning each of the five boroughs.
As CBS 2′s Janelle Burrell reported, one of the shootings happened on Staten Island, where a man is fighting for his life after being shot in the face.
The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Amboy Road in the New Dorp section of Staten Island. Police were still on the scene Sunday morning collecting and processing evidence, including a backpack that belonged to the 42-year-old victim.
[…] Neighbors also said the victim only moved to the area a few months ago with his wife and son. (more…)
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Gun owners and Second Amendment rights advocates gathered in downtown Buffalo’s Niagara Square Tuesday afternoon to protest the NY SAFE Act by shredding gun registration forms.
April 15, 2014 marks the deadline for when people who owned assault weapons prior to the passage of the SAFE Act were supposed to register them with New York State.
The SAFE Act redefines an “assault weapon” as almost any semi-automatic weapon with a “military-style feature,” including a telescoping stock, long guns with a pistol grip, or the ability to hold a detachable magazine.
Those types of guns can no longer be bought and sold in New York, but people who already owned them are “grandfathered” in to the law, so long as they register the weapon or have the guns permanently modified so that the “military” features are inoperable. (read more)

Does the property owner actually own the home or not ?
Think Progs. Think.
$9,000 in property tax and you are wondering why average people are renting out rooms etc ? Your solution ? You approve the government to engage in warrantless house searches, and ask citizens to squeal on their neighbors. How much freedom are you willing to give away to insure “fairness”?
Watch the video – it’s not about the fear of neighborhood blight, it’s about some people pissed off that other people are finding ways to afford the insufferably high cost of living: “it’s just not fair”.

According to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, blacks and minorities in New York are not capable of passing this test. Because the blacks and minority applicants cannot pass the test it falls under the new legalese term of creating a “disparate impact’. Therefore the test itself is racist. Consequently he is paying $98,000,000 to all the black and minority applicants who tried to become NYC Firefighters yet failed the test.
Decide for yourself:

The only thing the aggrieved New York Minorities have to do to get a windfall of money is show that they took the FDNY service exam. Hizzoner claims it was racist to make firefighter applicants take a written test, since Blacks and Hispanics do not perform as well as whites and Asians on academic tests. Ergo competency tests present a “disparate impact”.
DeBlasio is taking $98 million of taxpayer funds and redistributing it to blacks and Hispanics as “back pay” for work they never did, for a job they were never qualified for. While simultaneously announcing that he is creating new positions in the FDNY that will solely exist to ensure that blacks and Hispanics do not have to pass the same intelligence and competency exams as Whites and non-minorities.
NEW YORK – The de Blasio Administration today announced an agreement to settle the 2007 Vulcan Society’s lawsuit against the City of New York over two civil service exams found to be discriminatory against African American and Hispanic applicants.
The City has agreed to pay approximately $98 million in back pay and benefits to African American and Hispanic firefighter applicants who took two civil service exams in 1999 and 2002, and will implement additional reforms in the FDNY’s recruiting policies in an effort to further diversify the ranks of the organization to make them more representative of the city’s population. “her mom Ethel, joined the ovation“…. Yeah, of course she did.
NEW YORK – Kerry Kennedy has been found not guilty of drugged driving — and gave herself a hearty round of applause after jurors were dismissed from court by a Westchester County judge.
The jury handed down the verdict after just 30 minutes of deliberation Friday morning. The six-member panel had deliberated about 45 minutes Thursday night after being handed the case.
Kennedy — who had faced up to a year in jail if convicted — hugged both her lawyers as the verdict was read, and then began clapping after the jurors left the courtroom.
Her lawyers and a band of supporters, including mom Ethel, joined the ovation. (continue reading)
In the controversy over the New York St. Pat’s Parade you find the actual root angst of “Gay Rights” and it’s nothing to do with gay per se’ it’s all about a leftist viewpoint.
You see, in the St Paddy’s day parade, New York organizers welcome gay participants. Gay people are not barred from participation, they are actually welcome. The problem for the liberal left is the parade organizers want the emphasis on Irish celebration.
The parade folks don’t want a gay parade with an Irish theme, they want an Irish parade with an Irish patriotic theme; and the radical-left just isn’t ok with that.
“Parade planners have said gays are welcome to join the procession, which is expected to draw more than 1 million people on March 17, but they cannot identify themselves in any way by their sexual orientation”, according to the New York Daily News.
For the liberal-left that just isn’t good enough, it’s too exclusionary to expect the focus to be on being Irish – they demand an accommodation to be gay first, and Irish (or not) second.
Doesn’t that just about sum up what all this sexual orientation friction is about ?
