These past few days pundits and politicians have been either vilifying Pamela Geller’s Texas competition to draw the prophet Mohammed, or supporting her first amendment rights.
Greta Van Susteren’s post on Facebook this morning – The First Amendment free speech clause right is key to a democracy, but how one exercises that right is likewise important. Good judgment is important.
Well worth the watch.
Considering the jihadist attack in Garland Texas, it will not take long for the professional left to begin espousing the familiar tome: “free speech, but“….
There is no “but” in any sentence about “free speech”. It is, it exists, -or-, it is not, it does not exist. It is that simple.

The fact that a simple event depicting pictures of Muhammad needs to spend $10,000 to hire security -IN AMERICA- should be the real story. The fact that a simple event depicting pictures would be considered “controversial” -IN AMERICA- should be the sub line of the real story. Alas, these simple considerations will be lost amid the “but” crowd.
“But”, free speech does not protect offensive speech – is another familiar, perhaps the most frequent, refrain from the “but” crowd. Insufferably wrong. The only speech that needs first amendment protection is “offensive speech”, if your speech wasn’t controversial or offensive it would not need protection. (more…)

Evolving sketchy details. During a free speech event, “Draw Muhammad Day” in Dallas, at least two people have been shot. Additional reporting that two suspects were attempting to bomb the event.

Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton was the only full frontal conservative candidate in 2014 that never backed down from his principles or advocacy. Despite the pressure from the professional establishment to moderate himself to the middle, Cotton choose to remain true to his beliefs.
He also won his election by the widest margin of any candidate in the Senate races.
Today, another example of his wolverine blood.
This guy is fierce.
Senator Cotton says Iran should not be trusted, and any sanctions relief must first be preceded by a change in behavior and verification. Iran does not like that idea:
If we have an agreement on the 30th of June, within a few days after that, there will be a resolution before the UN Security Council under Article 41 of Chapter 7 which will be mandatory for all member states whether Senator Cotton likes it or not.
~ Javad Zarif (Iranian Foreign Minister)

Hey @JZarif, I hear you called me out today. If you’re so confident, let’s debate the Constitution. 1/4

The media continue to ask the question of why the police in Baltimore are not doing more to stop the violence and rioting throughout Baltimore. The answer is quite simple. Baltimore has been the bastion of political correctness and wilful blindness toward race-based violence for several years. Officials cannot now expose something they have tried to hide for almost a decade.

The City of Baltimore is comprised almost entirely of black leadership. The Mayor is black, the police Chief is black, almost the entire city council is black, the law enforcement community is mostly black – yet the rioting masses continue to say they are oppressed. It is simply a factually incorrect race-based narrative. (more…)
It’s not accidental, it’s not a mistake – nor is it coincidental.
It is a well scripted “social jihad”.
Baltimore Maryland erupts in riots, looting and civil unrest – and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings goes on television to thank the Nation of Islam for their support:

The VSU Flag stomping protest has brought sunlight upon a series of events on the VSU campus that has now expanded in an alarming manner. This is no longer even remotely related to disrespecting or burning a flag.

VALDOSTA, Ga. — At 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, from the steps of Valdosta State University’s West Hall, the father of Eric Sheppard issued the following the statement:
“Son, you know we love you and have always taught you to do the right thing and make wise decisions. Please make the right decision and turn yourself in, either to the authorities or to me, and we will handle this together. We love you and are here for you, as you requested.”
— Eric Sheppard Sr., father of Eric Sheppard.
At the heart of the issue is a student agitator named Eric Sheppard Jr. who previously organized an event to stomp on the U.S.A. flag and then burn it.
An Air Force veteran, Michelle Manhart, inadvertently brought sunlight upon the VSU activity when she picked up the flag and would not allow it to be desecrated – she was initially arrested, then released.
The student group behind the Flag Burning initially refused to identify themselves. However, through researching the social media of event participants we discovered who they were, and more importantly identified their ideology.
Eric Sheppard Jr. was the organizer of the event, and is an advocate for a militant Black Supremacy movement. He is pictured throughout his social media profile with alarming messages supporting violence and carrying numerous weapons. (more…)

[…] The mega-mosque is called the Turkish American Culture and Civilization Center and, according to the Muslim Link, it “will likely become the largest and most striking examples of Islamic architecture in the western hemisphere” when it is finished. The Muslim Link explicitly says it is “a project of the government of Turkey.”

(Via Right Scoop) A couple of years ago it was reported that Turkey was helping fund the building of a $100 million dollar mega mosque in Lanham, Maryland. In fact Erdogan visited the mosque when he was here in May of 2013, promising to come back for the opening.
Well that time has apparently arrived and now Erdogan and Obama will be together at the mosque for the big opening ceremony: (more…)
Ramadi is a city in central Iraq, about 68 miles west of Baghdad. It is the capital of Al Anbar Governorate (Anbar Province). The city extends along the Euphrates and is the largest city in Al-Anbar.
Over the weekend ISIS moved into towns just to the north of Ramadi sending thousands fleeing on foot into the city. ISIS had already blocked off access from the south months ago, and the west was contested territory. The east, until now, was not just a sketchy safe zone but the only viable entrance and exit…..
“Ramadi is under siege from all sides, I consider the city to have fallen.”
~ Major Aref al-Janabi (Police Chief)
BAGHDAD — More than 2,000 families have fled the Iraqi city of Ramadi with little more than the clothes on their backs, officials said Thursday, as the Islamic State group closed in on the capital of western Anbar province, clashing with Iraqi troops and turning it into a ghost town. (more…)
