This speech is intensely critical.  Take your time to comprehend it slowly.  I’ve highlighted a key paragraph that just astounded me when I heard it….
[ TRANSCRIPT ] Thank you. It’s great to be back in North Carolina.
In 62 days, we are going to win this state – and we are going to win the White House.
This is our chance to end years of injustice, corruption and betrayal.
This is our chance to solve all of the problems that have gone unsolved for so many years.
For how long have people been saying Washington is broken and controlled by special interests?
This is the year we can finally fix it.
That’s because change has to come from outside of our broken and corrupt system.
We will never fix our rigged system by relying on the people who rigged it in the first place.
We will never solve our problems by relying on the politicians who created our problems.

“Electronic Soup Cards”

That term, “electronic soup cards“, is simply brilliant.  It is powerfully brilliant because it is entirely correct.
As a person who searches for simple word assemblies to covey significant issues, I must admit that concise terminology is the best turn of words I’ve heard in years.

Factually, if the number of American people on EBT or SNAP welfare benefits had to line up for soup and meals (instead of just get money on an electronic card for use anywhere), there would be massive lines, miles-long lines, all day and all night in hundreds of thousands of soup kitchens nation-wide.   Such visibility would make the soup lines of the great depression seem insignificant by comparison.
The EBT and SNAP cards are exactly that, “Electronic Soup Cards”.

If, like me, you haven’t been keeping up with the escalating crisis in Venezuela, you might be surprised at the scope of the protests in the past few days.
With massive food shortages still ongoing as a result of the economic crisis created by Nicholas Maduro policy, millions of people are now taking to the streets of the capital city of Caracus; and even chasing Maduro out of small towns and villages.

(Via ABC) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro reportedly was greeted by angry pot-banging protesters during a visit to Margarita Island.

Grainy cellphone videos said to be from the Friday night encounter were picked up by Venezuelan news sites and were trending on social media. The socialist leader is seen jogging through a crowd as residents loudly bang on pots and hurl obscenities.

His visit to Margarita Island earlier Friday evening was broadcast nationwide. Images of the protest were later posted by residents of the town where it reportedly occurred. (link)

The FBI released today pages from the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server following pressure to release the documents.   The FBI released a summary of Clinton’s July 2 FBI interview and also a summary of the FBI investigation itself.

Judicial Watch was one of the first organizations to discover the hidden use of Hillary Clinton’s private email account to keep activity hidden from public review.

As a consequence of a long standing Judicial Watch FIOA court battle over State Department documents relating to the private email and private server, Judicial Watch requested to depose Secretary Clinton to answer questions.

The request for direct deposition was denied by the court, choosing instead to first order questions be asked/answered in writing.  Whereby: on August 19, U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan granted Judicial Watch further discovery on the Clinton email matter and ordered Secretary Hillary Clinton to answer the questions “by no later than thirty days thereafter….”

Under federal court rules, Judicial Watch was limited to twenty-five questions.  Today Judicial Watch submitted the questions, starting the 30 day clock for responses.

According to media reports, some of the FBI recovered emails from their investigation into Hillary Clinton’s records have a relationship to the events in/around the Benghazi Libya attack on Sept. 11th 2012.

(WASHINGTON)— The State Department says about 30 emails involving the 2012 attack on U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya, are among the thousands of Hillary Clinton emails recovered during the FBI’s recently closed investigation into her use of a private server.

Government lawyers told U.S. District Court Judge Amit P. Mehta Tuesday that an undetermined number of the emails among the 30 were not included in the 55,000 pages previously provided by Clinton to the State Department. The agency said it would need until the end of September to review the emails and redact potentially classified information before they are released.  (read more)

Unfortunately, there is a certain kind of predictability with this latest news release.  Those of you familiar with the full Benghazi Brief, will remember the congressional oversight responsibilities within the Congressional Intelligence Gang of Eight.

It’s not just Hillary Clinton that wants this stuff quiet, it is also Republicans in congress.

A terrible bus crash in Louisiana today results in the death of two people and dozens more injured.  The local fire chief who was responding to an earlier accident was one of those killed when the out of control bus collided with the fire engine.

Louisiana – State Police told Fox 8 firefighters responding to the earlier crash were attempting to close Interstate 10 just west of New Orleans when the bus lost control for unknown reasons and struck a fire engine on scene.

The bus then struck three firefighters, throwing them from the elevated portion of the interstate over the guard rail and into the water below.

Among those killed Sunday morning included a local fire chief, District Chief Spencer Chauvin with the St. John the Baptist Fire Department, Matey said.

When the discussion of possible ransom payments to Iran surfaced, everyone was wondering why the U.S. State Department sent pallets of assorted cash currency, totaling $400 million to Iran on January 17th 2016.   The same day the hostages were released.

On August 4th President Obama held a press conference to discuss the controversy and denied it was a “ransom payment” (see video).  Specifically, to answer the question of “why cash“, President Obama said:

[06:05] “and the only bit of news that is relevant on this, is the fact that we paid cash.  Which brings me to my last point.

The reason that we had to give them cash is precisely because we are so strict in maintaining sanctions, and we do not have a banking relationship with Iran, that we couldn’t send them a check; and we could not wire the money.

And it is not at all clear to me why it is that cash, as opposed to a check or a wire transfer has made this into a news story”. [06:46]

However, two days later, January 19th 2016, the U.S. Treasury wired Iran 13 individual payments for $99,999,999.99 , each with an independent MICR, totaling $1,299,999,999.87.
