In a short statement sent to The Baltimore Sun, Rawlings-Blake’s office said: “Effective immediately, Deputy Police Commissioner Kevin Davis will become Interim Commissioner of the Baltimore Police Department.”

It’s unclear whether Batts resigned or was fired. Rawlings-Blake and Davis will hold a news conference at 4:15 p.m.

NEBRASKA – A 12-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday night in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in connection with a deadly shooting in Omaha, Nebraska, officials told ABC News today.

Jarrell Milton will be charged with first-degree murder alongside 15-year-old Shuntayvious Primes-Willis and his 17-year-old brother, Jamar E. Milton, police said.

All three are being charged as adults, the Douglas County Attorney’s office confirmed.

The three suspects allegedly got Jamymell Ray, 31, to meet them at the northeast corner of Miller Park in North Omaha for a marijuana deal on June 29, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told ABC affiliate KETV.

“All three suspects had guns. There were shell casings from two different types of guns at the scene,” Kleine told KETV. (more…)

FLORIDA – The Marion County Commission on Tuesday unanimously agreed to restore the Confederate flag that had been removed from the McPherson Governmental Complex two weeks ago.

Several members of the public spoke in favor of restoring the flag during the commission’s bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday morning. At the end of the meeting, the commission unanimously agreed to restore the flag. It will also create a historical display so that people can understand the significance of the Confederate flag as well as the other flags flying in front of the complex.

The Confederate flag was removed in the wake of the June 17 killing of African-American churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina. The accused killer had expressed racist beliefs and had been pictured waving the Confederate flag. (more…)

Black Lives Matter activists have continued the insufferable demand to have the Grand Jury decision nullified.  Another recent maneuver has been thrown out… 

ST. LOUIS — A judge has tossed out a push by activists for an independent investigation of a prosecutor’s handling of grand jury proceedings in the Ferguson police shooting of Michael Brown, ruling that the effort was “not only logically flawed but contrary to the principles of our criminal justice system.”

St. Louis Circuit Judge Joseph Walsh III, in a 10-page ruling filed last Thursday, wrote that he reached “the inescapable conclusion” that St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCulloch “faithfully performed his duty” in connection with the grand jury, “even though some other person may have made the presentation to the grand jury in a different manner.”

CHICAGO – Ten people, including a seven-year-old boy, were killed in shootings in Chicago over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Police superintendent Garry McCarthy acknowledged that his department’s decision to increase the police presence in the city by 30% in anticipation of holiday violence had not prevented the killings – and called for more restrictive gun laws. Last year 14 people were killed in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend.

“If you think that putting more cops on the street would make a difference, then take a look at the fact that we put a third more manpower on the street for this weekend,” McCarthy said. (more…)

BOSTON – The Christopher Columbus statue in the North End was vandalized yesterday — with red paint dumped on its head and “Black Lives Matter” emblazoned on its base — in a defacing that left one local leader frustrated the cherished site was used for protest.

“For someone who was in the neighborhood, I certainly sympathize with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ discussions,” said state Rep. Aaron Michlewitz. “But, I think there’s a better way to get your point across than to vandalize public property — even with the complexities that surround Christopher Columbus’ history.”

Daunasia Yancey, founder and lead organizer at Black Lives Matter Boston, said her group wasn’t behind it, but “we fully support it.” (more…)

BALTIMORE – Public interest in the prosecution of six Baltimore police officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray will not diminish enough to seat an impartial jury in the city in time for the officers’ October trials, their attorneys argued in a new court filing Monday.

Because of that, the attorneys wrote, the case should be removed from the city now — without waiting, as prosecutors have suggested, to see how the intense scrutiny of the case plays out.

“The feeling of unrest among city residents is still chillingly evident as violent crime continues to climb to the highest level in decades, police and community relations remain embattled, and Freddie Gray remains fresh in the minds of Baltimore City citizens,” the officers’ attorneys wrote. Black male walks up to random couple walking, takes out a shotgun and blasts the female in the back of the head.

The victim has been identified as Carrie Jean Melvin, age 30.

Even though police are desperately asking for help from the public, the article below -and  media broadcast- does not give a full description of the suspect.  To find that out, yet again, you’d have to scour around:

On July 5, 2015, around 10:12 p.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call of a shooting in the area of Sunset Boulevard and McCadden Place. Officers found that a female in her 30s had been shot while walking with her companion on McCadden Place toward Sunset Boulevard when an unidentified male Black approached on foot and shot the victim. The suspect left northbound on McCadden Place in a black sedan. (link)

The details of a Cincinnati mob riot this weekend appear customarily poured through the MSM PC-filter, receiving editorial board cleanup prior to publication/broadcast.  However, social media accounts, as customary in an era where media are afraid to tell the truth, construct a more honest version of events.

The local media accounts read as follows:

As Downtown fireworks and the Reds game came to an close around 11 p.m. Saturday night, about 3,000 people were gathered on and around Fountain Square for a concert.

Within minutes, portions of the crowd turned raucous, and the night came to an abrupt end with seven arrests, two assaulted police officers, an “innocent” man in the hospital and looming questions of safety for the impending All-Star Game.

[…]  Around 11 p.m. police officers heard their first reports of unruly parts in a crowd on Fountain Square.

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas –  A 29-year-old man remains in the hospital after getting shot in the leg in his own driveway.  His longtime girlfriend, who does not wish to be identified, told Channel 2 he had surgery Saturday morning and he will be OK.

The 29-year-old was working on his truck outside his Mission Bend home in the 15500 block of Beechnut Street on Friday evening.

Home surveillance video shows an African-American man approach the boyfriend, then pull out a gun and force him to the ground. Surveillance video shows the suspect dragging the boyfriend across his porch.

The victim’s girlfriend was at work during the incident. (more…)
