When I was a mere lad, Texas Independence Day was celebrated in schools with patriotic songs, readings of the Declaration by schoolkids and grave lectures on our role as Texans by our teachers. Even the Mexican kids participated, because anyone who’d read the  hallowed rolls of the Alamo and Goliad dead knew that there were plenty of martyrs with Spanish surnames. We also knew of Lorenzo de Zavala and Juan Seguin, both Texian heroes of the Revolution.

It was understood by the youngest of us that Texas went from being just the mostly empty northern part of the Mexican state of Cohuila-Texas to the independent Republic of Texas with the signing of this document. Like the beloved United States, from whence the spirit -and some would say impetus – of revolution had come, we won our right to be free through the force of arms, wielded by brave and bold men. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, the despot which our Texas Forefathers overthrew was ever bit as evil and prone to predations as Britain’s George III. His one saving grace, that he invented that most American of oral fixations, chewing gum, was more than off-set by his cruelty and duplicitous nature. The self-proclaimed Napoleon of the North, he boasted an army well-officered and well-equipped that had spent the past couple of years putting down rebellions in Mexico. The 30-year fire chief in Harney County Oregon has resigned over a rather disturbing revelation, and he is not alone.

The local and state media in/around Burns Oregon have been putting fear into the hearts of many Harney county residents by claiming various bands of “armed militia” have been stalking residents of the community.  A typical example is HERE.

Amid these concerns and the promotion of community fear, the 67-year-old County Fire Chief, Chris Briels (on the job for three decades) responded to a call of “some militia guys poking around the local armory”.   However, what he discovered was far more troubling.

Pay close attention to the official wording tomorrow from the White House.  Will it be an “Executive Order“, or will it be called an “Executive Action“, there is a profound difference.

♦ “Executive orders” are those dictatorial fiats from the White House that contain an origin, at least as regarded by the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC), founded in law.

♦ “Executive actions” are the term-two preferences of President Obama and constitute dictatorial fiats that are not constitutionally based, not legal, not supported by the OLC, and will not eventually hold up under legal challenge.  The key word is “eventually”.

If called an executive order, that means the office of legal counsel (OLC) has affirmed to President Obama his intended activity is legally within his authority.  However, if the White House repeatedly calls it an executive action, that means it’s purely a political decision without OLC approval, regarding constitutional authority, and will likely not pass legal challenge.

The details are currently sketchy but here’s a few early reports of what to expect:

Grab a Cup of Coffee – Because This is Soup-to-Nuts.

Many people will awaken today to the news of approximately 100 to 150 armed militia taking control of a closed Wildlife Park Headquarters, and not know the full back-story – so here it is:

The short summary is:  in an effort to draw attention to a ridiculous arrest of a father and son pair of Oregon Ranchers (“Dwight Lincoln Hammond, Jr., 73, and his son, Steven Dwight Hammond, 46,) who are scheduled to begin five year prison sentences (turning themselves in tomorrow January 4th 2016), three brothers from the Cliven Bundy family and approximately 100/150 (and growing) armed militia (former U.S. service members) have taken control of Malheur Wildlife Refuge Headquarters in the wildlife reserve.  They are prepared to stay there indefinitely.

As we review the current media report for President Obama’s intentions, regarding executive office restrictions on firearms, we must remember the second term distinction between “executive orders” and “executive action“.

♦ Executive orders are those dictatorial fiats from the White House that contain an origin, at least as regarded by the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC), founded in law.

♦ “Executive actions” are the term-two preferences of President Obama and constitute dictatorial fiats that are not constitutionally based, not legal, not supported by the OLC, and will not eventually hold up under legal challenge.  The key word is “eventually”.

The Obama “executive actions” are political decisions intentionally constructed and designed to advance an ideology while creating legal conflict.  They successfully advance ‘change’ until they are overruled by state and federal courts.

An example of an “executive action” was the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, or DAPA, amnesty program Obama rolled out in November of 2014.   DAPA was an Executive Action, not an Executive Order.

Executive Actions open barn doors.  They are never designed/intended to pass legal challenge.  They create mostly irreversible consequences.

To the best of our knowledge the entire MSM and professional punditry have yet to recognize the strategic and intentional use of executive action – and explain it to everyone. (more…)

TEXAS – The video shows the scene inside the Twin Peaks restaurant in May just before the violent shootout that killed 9 people and ended up in the mass arrests of 177 bikers.

A fight and shootout erupts just off camera between a group of motorcycle clubs called the Bandidos and the Cossacks.

The reaction tells the story of the chaos and horrific scene that unfolds as the gunshots start exploding.

BRADENTON — A Bradenton mother and her one-year-old daughter are lucky to be alive after investigators say an angry driver shot at their car.

The bullet holes are just inches away from one-year-old Leola’s car seat. Her mother, Amanda Frey, is dazed and confused after she says a driver fired shots at her car Friday morning.

“It didn’t even register to me that it was even gunshots until I smelled it,” Frey said.

Thankfully she and her baby weren’t hit. But one of the bullets is still lodged in the door and you can still hear it rattling inside. (more…)

Interesting news blurb update amid an otherwise memory-holed story now almost six months old.

TEXAS – […] Of the 135 people originally ordered to wear GPS ankle monitors, all but 22 have been allowed to remove them, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported Sunday. Their lawyers have reached agreements with prosecutors to modify the conditions of their pre-trial release.

After initially locking up more than 170 people in connection with the May 17 incident outside Twin Peaks restaurant, McLennan County prosecutors have not charged anyone with the shooting deaths of nine people. At least 20 others were hurt. (more…)

On the left is the selfie Christopher Mercer uploaded to his social media. On the right is how *CNN presented the same selfie in broadcast stories about him.  Why did CNN need to change the complexion (color) of their broadcast?  Why is no-one showing pictures of mom, Laurel Margaret Harper.
