According to this Local report:    The gunman who opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Oregon asked victims to state their religion before opening fire, according to multiple reports. An 18-year-old student told the News-Review newspaper that the gunman, after shooting her teacher in the head through a window, told people to get on the ground. He then told people to stand up and state their religion before opening fire. Twitter user @BodhiLooney, who said her grandma was at the school, said the shooter asked people if they were Christian. “If they said yes, then they were shot in the head,” she wrote. “If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs.”
♦  Umpqua Community College was/is the local college attended by Alek Scarlatos (pictured below far right).  Scarlatos was one of the 3 U.S. Heroes who took down the jihadist gunman on the train in France recently.  Alek was enrolled in this current fall semester (per his Facebook), however he cancelled his classes and took time off to take advantage of an opportunity and complete in Dancing With The Stars. Unlike many municipalities the Detroit Metropolitan Police Chief has been very proactive within the community supporting gun rights and citizens self-defense second amendment rights.
Last night, two more robbery suspects picked the wrong victim – and the police are righteously non-sympathetic toward the robbers:

DETROIT – An attempted robbery went bad for two suspects as their intended victim shot them both.

Donald Trump is killing it in Norwood Massachussetts right now – will post video later (more tripwires triggered – Go Donald!).  However, earlier today Trump was on CNN talking to Chris Cuomo   But earlier today he was on CNN talking about gun control issues against the backdrop of the Roanoke shooting.
Very well presented, common sense talk – devoid of political gobbledygook.

Never let a crisis go to waste. Don’t wait for the facts, there’s political opportunity in here somewhere; and, well, if they get it wrong – the media will be quick to provide cover for the insufferable flawed logic.

(CNN)  A Birmingham, Alabama, police detective who was pistol-whipped unconscious said Friday that he hesitated to use force because he didn’t want to be accused of needlessly killing an unarmed man.
“A lot of officers are being too cautious because of what’s going on in the media,” said the officer, who asked to remain anonymous for the safety of his family. “I hesitated because I didn’t want to be in the media like I am right now.”
Details of last week’s incident in the Birmingham enclave of Roebuck remain sketchy — such as how did the suspect get the officer’s weapon — but the six-year police veteran said he didn’t shoot the man who attacked him during a traffic stop because of the outcry surrounding a spate of police shootings nationally. (Via Chicao Tribune) Five years before he was shot to death in the failed terrorist attack in Garland, Texas, Nadir Soofi walked into a suburban Phoenix gun shop to buy a 9-millimeter pistol..

At the time, Lone Wolf Trading Co. was known among gun smugglers for selling illegal firearms. And with Soofi’s history of misdemeanor drug and assault charges, there was a chance his purchase might raise red flags in the federal screening process.

Inside the store, he fudged some facts on the form required of would-be gun buyers.

What Soofi could not have known was that Lone Wolf was at the center of a federal sting operation known as Fast and Furious, targeting Mexican drug lords and traffickers. The idea of the secret program was to allow Lone Wolf to sell illegal weapons to criminals and straw purchasers, and track the guns back to large smuggling networks and drug cartels. (read more)

The total number of suspects is six. Two different incidents, within hours – same suspects. Sketch of 3 suspects released. Horrific brutal attacks, rapes and robbery.  The story is 3 days old, and the national news has avoided it.

DETROIT (WWJ) – The hunt is on for a group of men in Detroit who allegedly attacked two couples while they were walking down the street, forcing the male victim to watch as his female companion is gang raped.

The first incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in a well-lit area near McNichols Road and Birwood Street. The alleged attack happened in a northwest neighborhood just blocks away from Marygrove College.

According to police, a 22-year-old man and his 21-year-old girlfriend were walking along McNichols when they were approached by a group of six men. The men reportedly forced the couple behind a nearby business where they were robbed and stripped of their clothes.

The group then allegedly took turns sexually assaulting the woman. After the attack was over, the nude victims ran to a nearby liquor store for help. (more…)

Mohammod Youssof Abdulazeez, age 24,   has been identified by the FBI as the gunman who fatally shot four Marines and wounded a police officer on Thursday in shootings at two military recruiting and training centers in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

NBC News reports that Abdulazeez is a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Kuwait. He was born in 1990.  He came to the United States in 1996 with his parents.

CBS News reports that he/his family, were from Phoenix, Arizona. The Associated Press says he lived in Hixson, Tennessee, which is a community in Chattanooga. (more…)

Two shooting locations. At least two military facilities in Tennessee were attacked in shootings Thursday, including one at a Navy recruiting building, officials said.   • All the dead were killed at the Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center Chattanooga (link). • Numerous outlets reporting law enforcement officials have told them the shooter is dead. Their law enforcement sources also said that the police officer was shot in the leg and was not critically wounded, and that at least four Marines had also been injured in the attack.  Numerous news outlets now report • FOUR FIVE DEAD (including the shooter).  • THREE FOUR MARINES KILLED at naval reserve recruitment center. • Three wounded = one critical, one treated and released, one unknown.  • An ISIS inspired Twitter Acct. takes credit for the attack.
