Released by Judicial Watch – (Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released a new batch of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) documents revealing that its handling of Tea Party applications was directed out of the agency’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The documents also show extensive pressure on the IRS by Senator Carl Levin (D-MI) to shut down conservative-leaning tax-exempt organizations.
The IRS’ emails by Lois Lerner detail her misleading explanations to investigators about the targeting of Tea Party organizations.
The documents came in response to an October 2013 Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed after the agency refused to respond to four FOIA requests dating back to May 2013 (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. Internal Revenue Service (No. 1:13-cv-01559)).
One key email string from July 2012 confirms that IRS Tea Party scrutiny was directed from Washington, DC. On July 6, 2010, Holly Paz (the former Director of the IRS Rulings and Agreements Division and current Manager of Exempt Organizations Guidance) asks IRS lawyer Steven Grodnitzky “to let Cindy and Sharon know how we have been handling Tea Party applications in the last few months.” Cindy Thomas is the former director of the IRS Exempt Organizations office in Cincinnati and Sharon Camarillo was a Senior Manager in their Los Angeles office. WASHINGTON DC – Former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice, who served as the Obama administration’s mouthpiece after the Benghazi attacks in September 2012, suggested Wednesday that there’s nothing left to learn about the White House’s response to the attacks — telling a reporter “dang if I know” whether the Republican investigation will unearth more evidence of a cover-up.

(Via Daily Mail) The White House wanted Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner to lie on Sunday talk shows to downplay the part Social Security played in driving the deficit, it was revealed today.
Geithner writes in his memoir Stress Test, out today, that the White House communications director asked him to downplay the long term cost of Social Security spending to mollify the Democratic Party’s base.
‘I remember during one Roosevelt Room prep session before I appeared on the Sunday shows, I objected when Dan Pfeiffer wanted me to say Social Security didn’t contribute to the deficit. It wasn’t a main driver of our future deficits, but it did contribute,’ he says.
‘Pfeiffer said the line was a ‘dog whistle’ to the left, a phrase I had never heard before. He had to explain that the phrase was code to the Democratic base, signaling that we intended to protect Social Security.’ (more…)
(Via NRO) Republicans like Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush, Grover Norquist, et al. who insist that the House GOP pass Chuck Schumer’s amnesty bill are saying that Obama can be trusted to enforce whatever new immigration laws we come up 
with.
As if there weren’t already abundant evidence of the absurdity of such trust, a Buzzfeed story adds to the pile.
The story is about disagreement between Schumer and the White House over plans to water down enforcement even more. The less-sophisticated among the anti-borders Left are demanding that the ongoing review of deportation policy, designed to make it more “humane,” result in dramatic new curbs on the removal of illegal aliens or, even better, de facto amnesty for all illegals along the lines of Obama’s illegal DREAM Act–style DACA amnesty. On the heels of the latest revelation that 10% of Tea Party donors have suffered through IRS audits – The following was posted yesterday on the home page for the House Ways and Means Committee:
Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) announced that one year into the investigation of the IRS targeting and abusing conservative groups, the agency has agreed to turn over all Lois Lerner emails to the Committee. Lerner is a central figure in the investigation and served as Director of Exempt Organizations at the IRS.
“While it is good that we are finally getting these emails, it should never have taken this long. The agency is finally doing what is right and hopefully this is the last of the delays. It is almost a year to the day since Lois Lerner ‘apologized’ for the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and we need to get to the bottom of this. These documents are critical to an investigation that is holding the IRS accountable and ensuring the constitutional rights of these groups are never trampled on again. I knew it would eventually surface. Secretary of State for Africa, J Carson, is outlining how under the Obama administration foreign policy is a method of advocating for “Social Justice” as a solution to ideologically driven opposition. In most recent events the Boko Haram Jihadists.
The exact same U.S. “social justice” approach via foreign policy, which is now openly displayed toward Nigeria (Boko Haram), was engaged two years ago in Uganda toward the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) and terrorist Joseph Kony. Remember #KonySurrender.
Step back and you can see how totally weak and disconnected this Obama Doctrine is.
This administration -and yes that includes both former and current secretary of States’ Hillary Clinton and John Kerry- view foreign policy through the prism of “social justice” definitions.
How so ? Think back to early 2013 and Sec. John Kerry talking about the issues in Syria, Egypt and the Middle East Palestinian conflict. Do you remember him giving speeches about the “real cause” for civil war being unemployment ? John Kerry wants to stop terrorism with a jobs program – 2013.
“[W]e’re not going to solve this challenge of terror and of extremism and of people finding an alternative if we’re not reaching out to people, talking to them, bringing them to the table and trying to work through major, perceived differences,” Secretary of State John Kerry told a gathering in Brussels on Monday. “I believe we have to create a new paradigm, frankly, to deal with this.” (link)
