Trail Covering: As Predicted U.S. DOJ and Treasury Turn on Oleg Deripaska…

Some things are just so predictable they become funny.  The story of Oleg Deripaska is a little bit convoluted and challenging to keep up with.  The short version is that former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, FBI Agent Peter Strzok and corrupt U.S. DOJ officials tried to recruit Deripaska in 2016 for their vast Russian conspiracy plot against candidate Trump, President-Elect Trump and President Trump.
Because of the associations with the scheme and coup-plotters, Oleg has buckets of dirt on corrupt U.S. officials who were trying to target Donald Trump.  In the wake of a soft-coup failure, Oleg then became a risk. So it comes as no surprise to see today the U.S. DOJ and Treasury turn on him and confiscate his U.S. assets.

It means any American companies engaging in business with him must cease operations by November 12, extended from the original October 23 deadline reports Crime Russia. (read more)

CTH predicted this would happen when we wrote:

All of a sudden Deripaska the asset becomes a risk to the corrupt Scheme Team (DOJ/FBI et al); especially as the DOJ/FBI then execute the “insurance policy” effort against Donald Trump…. and eventually enlist Robert Mueller.”

“It is entirely possible for a Russian to be blackmailing someone, but it ain’t Trump vulnerable to blackmail; it’s the conspiracy crew within the DOJ and FBI. Deripaska now has blackmail material on Comey, McCabe and crew.”

Oleg Deripaska is a typical Russian gremlin, and if you research him you can tell he loves mocking the corrupt elements within U.S. politics.  I’m almost positive it was Oleg who put the Trumppee tapes and hookers” into the Steele Dossier just to see if the knuckleheads in the DOJ/FBI would actually use it.
Considering Christopher Steele was a contracted employee of the billionaire it just looks like something Oleg would do.   Deripaska and many Russian political types just work that way.  To them, manipulating U.S. officials is funny….. ‘stoopid Amerikans‘ etc.
Here’s the Oleg Story from August, 2018:

James Baker Testimony: DNC Lawyers Met With FBI Officials Prior to October 2016 FISA Application…

The DOJ-NSD and FBI are holding a press conference today at 9:30am.  The topic is unknown, but the timing coincides with a document production subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee for McCabe Memos, the “Woods File” supporting the Carter Page FISA application, and Gang-of-Eight documents on the Russia investigation.
In related news, former FBI chief legal counsel, James Baker, delivered testimony to the Joint House Committee yesterday in the ongoing investigation of corrupt FISA processes and “spy-gate”.   Fox News and The Hill both have reports.

There has been some speculation James Baker is a willing/cooperating witness within this ongoing investigation. I would urge skepticism and caution toward that view.  Baker is currently a participating member of Lawfare; he is not likely to testify in opposition to his DOJ and FBI ideological allies despite their corrupt activity.  Indeed, Mr. Baker attended the closed-door hearing with lawyers to protect all interests, including James Baker.
One of the more interesting leaks from the testimony is found in a report from John Solomon of The Hill where he outlines a Jim Baker admission that lawyers from the DNC (Perkins Coie) met with FBI officials in the run-up to the Carter Page FISA application used against the Trump campaign.

Rosenstein -vs- McCabe…

There are two warring camps: Team Rosenstein and Team McCabe.  Team Rosenstein consists of current officials: Jeff Sessions, Dana Boente et al; and Team McCabe has former officials: Lisa Page, James Baker, Mike Kortan et al.
Each camp has a media outlet to push their narrative.  Team Rosenstein has The Washington Post; Team McCabe is using The New York Times.  Sources for NYT reporting are from team McCabe; Sources for WaPo reporting are from Team Rosenstein.  Understand this, and the reporting narrative context makes more sense.

Both Andrew McCabe and Rod Rosenstein took corrupt and illegal action to try and take down the President of the United States.  However, generally speaking, McCabe’s actions were specifically intended to facilitate a soft-coup; whereas Rosenstein was more of a willingly facilitating useful idiot in the grand scheme.
Example 1:  Former FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker and Former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe worked together to assemble the post-election “small group”, which eventually gained legitimate legal authority when Baker and McCabe convinced Rosenstein to hire Robert Mueller.
Baker and McCabe were intentionally manipulating the events; DAG Rosenstein was the patsy going along because he wasn’t inside the team in 2016 when it all began.

Conflicting Reports Over DOJ and FBI "Classification" and "Redaction Removal"…

There is nuance within the directive for declassification by President Trump.  The sets of documents are not identical in the way they are classified within the intelligence apparatus.  There are distinct differences and conflicting reports [Bloomberg Report and Washington Examiner] perhaps based on conflation and miss-identification of those differences. First, Sara Carter:

.
Breaking down the presidential directive to the four component parts helps  understanding the issue(s), and the likelihood for redactions within the release(s):

  • (1) pages 10-12 and 17-34 of the June 2017 application to the FISA court in the matter of Carter W. Page;
  • (2) all FBI reports of interviews with Bruce G. Ohr prepared in connection with the Russia investigation;
  • (3) all FBI reports of interviews prepared in connection with all Carter Page FISA applications.
  • (4) publicly release of all text messages relating to the Russia investigation, without redaction, of James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and Bruce Ohr.

Sidney Powell Discusses Robert Mueller's Team, Bruce Ohr and the Bigger FISA Picture….

Author and columnist Sidney Powell appeared last night on Lou Dobbs television show to discuss the special counsel investigation, the testimony of Bruce Ohr, and the bigger issues surrounding the abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).
Mrs. Powell is one of the few knowledgeable people who reminds the audience where the origin the political surveillance operation began; the abuse of the NSA and FBI databases; which led to the corrupt abuse of the FISA court.  Great interview:

The Declassification Conundrum…

Today is likely to be a very busy news day.  President Trump will appear on Fox and Friends at the same time the Bureau of Labor and Statistics releases the August jobs report. RESULTS: Total employment increased by 201,000 in August, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.9 percent (data here)
Additionally, there’s the congressional requests (legislative branch) for President Trump (executive branch) to declassify redacted portions of the DOJ/FBI FISA application.  So it is worthwhile discussing the “declassification conundrum” beginning with this interview:

.
The congressional request is for President Trump to declassify and release the Carter Page FISA applications (including specifically pages 10-12 and 17-34 and relevant footnotes), all of the Bruce Ohr 302s and other relevant documents, including exculpatory evidence regarding Carter Page and others, that were presented to the Gang of Eight, but not presented to the FISA Court.
At first glance it appears to be a simple request right? However, it is anything but simple for a lot of reasons.
