With the release of the official State Department OIG report, the Associated Press fact-checks Hillary Clinton’s historical statements.  AP comes to the conclusion “Clinton misstates key facts in email episode” – which is parseltongue for SHE LIED:

CLINTON (Lie #1): “The system we used was set up for President Clinton’s office. And it had numerous safeguards. It was on property guarded by the Secret Service. And there were no security breaches.” — March 2015 press conference.

THE REPORT: Evidence emerged of hacking attempts, though it’s unclear whether they were successful.
On Jan. 9, 2011, an adviser to former President Bill Clinton notified the State Department’s deputy chief of staff for operations that he had to shut down the server because he suspected “someone was trying to hack us and while they did not get in i didnt (sic) want to let them have the chance to.” (more…)

An 86 page independent Inspector General (IG) Report (full pdf below) released today outlines the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private communication network while she was Secretary of State.

During the course of their investigation Secretary Hillary Clinton refused to cooperate with the OIG’s office and refused to be interviewed (See footnote #152 pg 38).

[…]  In November 2010, Secretary Clinton and her Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations discussed the fact that Secretary Clinton’s emails to Department employees were not being received. The Deputy Chief of Staff emailed the Secretary that “we should talk about putting you on state email or releasing your email address to the department so you are not going to spam.” In response, the Secretary wrote, “Let’s get separate address or device but I don’t want any risk of the personal being accessible.”152

Judicial Watch has been doing yeoman’s work to get to the bottom of the entire scheme to hide Clinton communication from FOIA inquiry.  After two years of frustrating legal battles and lies from within the State Department, a federal judge has granted JW permission to depose Clinton’s staff:

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it has scheduled the depositions of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aides Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, as well as top State Department official Patrick Kennedy, and former State IT employee Bryan Pagliano regarding the creation and operation of Clinton’s non-government email system.  The first witness, Lewis A. Lukens, will be deposed on Wednesday, May 18.
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan granted “discovery” to Judicial Watch into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email system.
The court noted that “based on information learned during discovery, the deposition of Mrs. Clinton may be necessary.”  The discovery arises in a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that seeks records about the controversial employment status of Huma Abedin, former Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton.  (more…)

“America First” is the headline given to today’s Donald Trump foreign policy speech as delivered.  However, many pundits are automatically assigning that reference position to the prior non-interventionist approach held prior to WWII.  This projection is factually false.
“America First” is simply that, a view, a perspective, a filtering prism of consideration for the U.S. role in the world by first thinking strategically about our own national interests.

There’s big business, big money, and big economic globalist influence swirling around all matters of modern U.S. foreign policy.
Few people, and almost no-one in the world of corporate media punditry, really take the conversation high enough to grasp the ultimate ends of any military aspect to foreign policy.  Candidate Donald Trump is the first leader in our lifetime to grasp how economic interests have merged with, and infiltrated the engagement policies of, the U.S. military.
Secondly, the same corporate media who are entwined in the economics of globalization, have been selling a false narrative about Secretary Hillary Clinton.  According to the media Secretary Clinton’s strength is ‘foreign policy’; this is pure professional gaslighting.
Hillary Clinton is more vulnerable on her failed tenure as America’s top diplomat than any other aspect of her presidential bid. (more…)

Having spent the larger amount of two years digging through innocuous reports, FOIA documents, and media reports (mostly foreign), the Gowdy announcement today is more than a little bit disingenuous.
We’ve previously predicted, long before the select committee was announced, that the Benghazi investigation would amount to all hat and no cattle.
The reasoning is very simple:
Both sides of the UniParty were charged with intelligence oversight of the joint CIA/State Department operations in Libya (2011) and Syria (2012) through the Congressional Intelligence Gang-of-Eight.
At the time the “Intelligence Gang-of-Eight” was:

♦ Speaker – John Boehner, ♦ Minority Leader – Nancy Pelosi; ♦ House Permanent Select Committee on Intel Chairman – Mike Rogers, and his ♦ Democrat counterpart Charles Ruppersberger; ♦ Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and ♦ Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid; along with ♦ Senate Intel Chair Diane Feinstein and her ♦ Republican counterpart, Saxby Chambliss.

Together with Hillary Clinton and President Obama the “Gang-of-Eight” was duplicitous in everything that took place.  Therefore there is no independent motive for the Gowdy committee to find any responsibility – the entire investigation is for public appearances only.

Tonight at 8:00pm the heavy political news day continues with a five candidate Presidential Town Hall hosted by CNN.

The event begins at 8:00pm EST and is scheduled through 11:00pm.

Candidates Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, John Kasich and Donald Trump will appear live on  CNN.  Bernie Sanders is scheduled to appear via satellite feed.  All five presidential candidates will be questioned individually by host Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer – it appears most of the Q&A will be interview style.

There is not a publicly available schedule to find out the order of appearance.

The Town Hall event is being broadcast on CNN and CNNi.

BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) – Serbia’s authorities are investigating reports that a cargo package bound for the U.S. containing two missiles with explosive warheads was found on a passenger flight from Lebanon to Serbia.

N1 television said the package with two guided armor-piercing missiles was discovered Saturday by a sniffer dog after an Air Serbia flight from Beirut landed at Belgrade airport.

Serbian media say documents listed the final destination for the AGM-114 Hellfire missiles as Portland, Oregon. The American-made projectiles can be fired from air, sea or ground platforms. (more…)

Sometimes you have to wonder how much of this stuff an ordinary Democrat voter can swallow before they too are suffocated by the obfuscation and avoidance.  It looks like Hillary has found another person to put on her “vast right wing conspiracy” list.

(Via Bloomberg) The Hillary Clinton campaign has gone on the attack against the government official who conducts oversight of the State Department she used to run, accusing him of partisanship and misconduct without any direct evidence.
