SYRIA – The teenage girls who abandoned their families in Austria to become jihadis for ISIS feel they’ve made a terrible mistake by joining the barbaric lifestyle and they want to come home.
Samra Kesinovic, 17, and Sabina Selimovic, 15, are believed to be married, pregnant and living in the Islamic State-controlled city of Raqqa in northern Syria, Central European News reports.
Dubbed by Austrian media as the poster girls for jihad, the young friends now believe their lives have been turned upside down by their new lifestyles. (more…)

Protesters broke a window at the Medicine Shoppe burned several American flags after taking one from the Beauvais Manor nursing home and threw at least one brick through the window of a home along Flora Avenue. Lum, the director of the Justice Department’s Community Relations Service, which has had from 2-8 conflict resolution mediators working behind the scenes in Ferguson since Aug. 10, would not speculate if the new shooting meant his people would remain in the St. Louis area longer than anticipated.
“We are well aware of that (shooting),” he said in an interview. “We have staff on the ground that are assessing the situation.”
Citing secrecy laws embedded in the 1964 Civil Rights act that created his office, Lum would not say if his office sent more mediators to the city after the new shooting. He said CRS mediators would remain in the St. Louis area “as long as it is needed.” (link)
UPDATE: The attorney for a police officer involved in a fatal shooting Wednesday night told the Post-Dispatch that his client is lucky to be alive because he hesitated too long before firing at an 18-year-old who pointed a gun at him. (more…)
We find the media’s approach a little odd especially because it was not long ago the FBI stopped a terrorist plot to kill the Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. The essential elements of the plot originated in Mexico:
“In connection with his guilty plea, [Manssor Arbabsiar, an Iranian-born naturalized American citizen] admitted that, from the spring of 2011 to the fall of 2011, he conspired with officials in the Iranian military who were based in Iran to cause the assassination of the Saudi Arabian ambassador while the ambassador was in the United States. Arbabsiar acknowledged that at the direction of these co-conspirators, he traveled to Mexico on several occasions during 2011 in order to arrange the assassination of the ambassador”. (link)

This makes absolutely no sense.
By their own statements – The White House is willing to watch 10,000 Syrian Kurds die fighting ISIS in Kobane as the Pentagon works to train 5,000 Syrians to hopefully fight in April 2015.
Can the broad electorate see that Obama’s actual objective is to allow ISIS to win Syria?
(Via NRO) A Nebraska school district has instructed its teachers to stop referring to students by “gendered expressions” such as “boys and girls,” and use “gender inclusive” ones such as “purple penguins” instead.
“Don’t use phrases such as ‘boys and girls,’ ‘you guys,’ ‘ladies and gentlemen,’ and similarly gendered expressions to get kids’ attention,” instructs a training document given to middle-school teachers at the Lincoln Public Schools.
“Create classroom names and then ask all of the ‘purple penguins’ to meet on the rug,” it advises.
The document also warns against asking students to “line up as boys or girls,” and suggests asking them to line up by whether they prefer “skateboards or bikes/milk or juice/dogs or cats/summer or winter/talking or listening.” (more…)
(Via Washington Times) The EPA is poised to “do an IRS” — similar to what the tax agency had to do with dismissed top official Lois G. Lerner — and officially notify the National Archives that it may have lost key electronic records, according to a think tank that’s suing to get text messages under an open-records request.
Justice Department lawyers told a federal court on Tuesday that the alert will be coming soon, in a case that’s shaping up as a significant battle over whether government agencies are required to keep cellphone text messages as “official” records.
In this case, researcher Chris Horner and the Competitive Enterprise Institute are trying to get a peek at Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy’s text messages, believing that she switched from emails to texting in order to talk about the agency’s controversial plans to crack down on coal power plants.
