Tehran has effectively countered the Saudi plots in Syria and Iraq and at the moment would seem to have the upper hand. The last-ditch Saudi attempt to hurt the Iranian economy by forcing a steep decline in oil prices is not only not having the desired effect but, as President Hassan Rouhani explicitly warned yesterday, Riyadh may end up shooting at its own feet (as well as the Kuwaiti brother’s).

However, it is the attack on the Saudi post by the IS (killing two border guards and their commanding officer) that becomes a defining moment. The fact that the IS attackers included three Saudi nationals must be a rude awakening. To be sure, the blowback has begun. The Saudis hope to erect a ‘great wall’ and insulate themselves from the IS barbarians next door but that is sheer bravado.

A Brooklyn man terrorized two NYPD cops when he pulled alongside their squad car in Harlem and pointed what appeared to be a weapon at them to show his friends how easy it would be to “shoot a police officer,” authorities said.
Unique Johnson, 32, was driving a Chevy TrailBlazer at West 125th Street and Seventh Avenue at 9 p.m. Tuesday when he suspiciously slowed down and pulled up along the squad car’s right side, police said.
When the 26-year-old officer at the wheel peered over his shoulder, he witnessed Johnson with his arms extended, pointing what looked like a gun, police said.
“I absolutely thought we were dead,” one of the cops said, according to NYPD officials.

FTP and BLM protestors wearing adult diapers chained themselves to large concrete filled oil drums near Boston blocking traffic and also blocking emergency responders.

BOSTON — Activists protesting what they call “police and state violence against black people” chained themselves to concrete-filled barrels and blocked a busy Boston-area highway at the height of the Thursday morning commute.

State police shut down northbound Interstate 93 south of the city, and I-93 south, in Medford, north of the city, at about 7:30 a.m., inconveniencing thousands of drivers and causing miles-long backups. The southbound lanes were reopened at about 8 a.m. and the northbound lanes at about 10 a.m. after police and firefighters used power saws to cut protesters out of the barrels to which they were attached while lying in the roadway. (Via Weekly Standard) An institute named for the father of possible presidential candidate Rand Paul has published a piece saying the Charlie Hebdo massacre, like 9/11, was a false flag operation. The claim comes in piece titled, “Charlie Hebdo Shootings: False Flag?,” put online today at the Ron Paul Institute:

“The Charlie Hebdo affair has many of the characteristics of a false flag operation. The attack on the cartoonists’ office was a disciplined professional attack of the kind associated with highly trained special forces; yet the suspects who were later corralled and killed seemed bumbling and unprofessional. By now most people are aware of our decision to stop analyzing and researching the Jessica Chambers murder. If not, well now you are.  That said, and because of the exhaustive previous research by all of you genuinely good truth-seekers, an explanation is warranted and deserved.

My apologies in advance for any length of explanation – And prior to explaining, allow me to assert a belief that investigators probably know who did it.
The problem is proving it.
From day #1, when we became aware of this incident on December 7th,2014, we immediately noticed that not only did this story hold a series of various agenda items which might lead to a buried lede story (FTP and BLM protests);  but also the entire construct of the media reports themselves were indicating a very troubling beginning to what should normally be a serious murder investigation.

Credit where credit is due. The messaging from the White House about why they haven’t called the terrorist attacks “Islamic Terrorism” must have been a top priority in the past 48 hours. As noted in this shift expressed by Josh Earnest. The question was posed:

“The leader of France, your ally in this effort, has put a name on this ideology, which he calls radical Islam,” noted NPR’s Mara Liasson. “You have bent over backwards to not ever say that. There must be a reason.”

Josh Earnest Responds: “The first is accuracy. We want to describe exactly what happened. These are individuals who carried out an act of terrorism and they later tried to justify that act of terrorism by invoking the religion of Islam and their own deviant view of it. (more…)

MISSISSIPPI – Two men are in custody and a third is wanted in the death of Carolyn Temple, a Jackson woman who was shot last week and died Monday night.
Antreal Jones and Jerome Moore, both 17, were arrested after a standoff with police at McDowell Road and Woodside Drive. They were initially suspected in at least one carjacking, but police suspected they were involved in the January 7 incident on Euclid Street when Temple was robbed and shot. She died of her injuries Monday night.
Jones and Moore have both been charged with capital murder and armed carjacking. A third suspect in Temple’s death has been identified as Antwain Dukes, 16. A capital murder warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Carolyn Temple was shot in the stomach last week just after she arrived at the Belhaven home of her boyfriend, Conner McAllister. She had gone to the street to bring up the garbage cans from the curb when she was attacked by two men who attempted to take her purse. When she resisted, they hit her in the head with the gun and then shot her. (more…)
