Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake says she will not seek re-election:

“We all know that this is a very critical time in our city; many important decisions lie ahead, both in recovering from April’s unrest and managing our city through the multiple trials that are coming up. Over the past few months as I’ve been making plans for what I know is a vigorous campaign I realize that every moment that I spent planning for a campaign or re-election was time that I was taking away from my current responsibilities to the city. This Rolling Stone controversy is a brilliant opportunity to highlight how subtle, yet brutally obvious, presented broadcast media bias can be when combined with ideological opportunism.

Donald Trump said on Thursday the author of the interview, Paul Solotaroff, called to apologize for the way it was edited:

“The writer actually called me and said, ‘I’m so upset, I wrote this great story and [publisher] Jann Wenner screwed it up’ — he told me that,” Trump said on CNN’s “New Day.” “They added a lot of stuff, a lot of garish stuff, that I think is disgusting.” (link)

The author of the article, Solotaroff, appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper and was questioned about this assertion by Trump.  The author appears to deny the assertion, however if you really listen to his answer, and accept his situation, you recognize there’s validity and affirmation to what Trump is claiming  – you just need to understand the context. Obviously CNN adding space for Carly Fiorina so she can participate in the debate on behalf of the GOPe agenda to create space for Jeb.
Meanwhile the MEDIA onslaught against Trump continues.  Both Salem Media Communications (religious and politically ideological right) and Main Stream Media (anti-religion and politically ideological left) are aligned on behalf of all their collective financial interests to remove the threat to their politically driven power structure.

UPDATE: Defense argued that Walter Scott got on Slager during a struggle and pummeled him. Attorney Andy Savage said Michael Slager looks forward to clearing his name. Prosecutor Scarlett Wilson, though, said Slager became executioner and planted evidence, lying to make it look like self-defense.

Will this finally be the tipping point where people recognize that Glenn Beck is an unstable, self-centered nutter?  Too soon to tell.  It will be interesting to see how his partner Dana Loesch responds/aligns on this.
Last year it was the insufferable “Soccer Ball and Teddy Bear Tour” for illegal aliens.  In February of this year he stated he swore off the Republican party forever and would never return.  Now Beck mounts a full-throated attack against Sarah Palin…..  As previously stated, the Donald Trump campaign is putting a spotlight on the festering underbelly of corporatist political media.  Beck being a big part of that.

Activist Judge Barry Williams gave activist Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby a big assist in her goal to convict six Baltimore police officers.  Williams ruled against a venue change motion while saying there’s no evidence they will be unable to seat an impartial jury.
The pre-trial hearings continue this afternoon.

(Via Baltimore Sun) A Baltimore Circuit Court judge ruled Thursday morning that the trials of six police officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray will stay in Baltimore, saying the defense had failed to prove that the officers cannot receive a fair trial in the city.

“The citizens of Baltimore are not monolithic,” Judge Barry Williams said in his ruling. “They think for themselves.”

As soon as Donald Trump began to gain traction he immediately became a risk to derail the Wall Street interests – trillions are at stake.  We knew the corporately controlled mainstream and political media would be called to action.
However, that said, the scope of the manipulative intents is still remarkable to witness.

The agenda and scope of the financial tentacles is brutally obvious.  All of this is semi-coordinated by various financial groups who have a vested interest.  “Semi-Coordinated” meaning they don’t need to directly coordinate – because they only need to serve their individual interests, and as a consequence the larger group interest is automatically serviced.
Wall Street, Madison Avenue, Park Row, Hollywood, K-Street, etc all working in common cause, eliminate Donald Trump.  It’s really quite remarkable. (more…)

Keep in mind:  ♦ no wrongdoing has ever been found;  ♦ Marilyn Mosby’s private attorney is the same attorney as Freddie Gray’s family;  ♦ The Gray family never filed a lawsuit, so this is not a “settlement” per se’;  ♦ The possibility of any police wrongful conduct being found during trial is quite probably nil; ♦ The maximum payout under Maryland state law, if lawsuit filed – and if police misconduct could be identified, would have been $400k.

UPDATE:  The nine-page agreement, obtained Wednesday by The Baltimore Sun, shows that Gray’s mother, Gloria Darden, will receive $5.36 million. Gray’s father, Freddie Gray Sr., will receive $640,000. The remainder, $400,000, will be paid to the “Estate of Freddie Gray Jr.”
The city agrees to pay $1.8 million within 15 days, to be divided proportionately among the parities, according to the document. Another $1 million must be paid by Nov. 1.
The remaining $3.6 million will be paid out in the next fiscal year. (link)
