Piaget Crenshaw has been at the heart of the Mike Brown story from the outset. Ms. Crenshaw was one of the very first media witnesses who sold the false “hands up – don’t shoot” story as pictured below in one of her many media interviews.

Last week, during the violence, looting and arson which occurred immediately after the grand jury announcement, the Ferguson Liquor Market was targeted again by the local community.
Fox News Sean Hannity discussed the looting events with the attorney for the family who owns and operates the market. (more…)
At approximately midnight on Saturday night Seldin Dzananovic, 24, was attacked by a group of black Saint Louis teen thugs wielding hammers. Mr. Dzananovic was able to escape the attack suffering bruises and scratches.
However, an hour later 32-year-old Zemir Begic would not be so fortunate. Mr. Begic was brutally murdered by the same teens around 1:30am.
The Saint Louis Post Dispatch reports: “members of the group yelled at Begic, his fiancée and two others as they walked to Begic’s car. As the vehicle drove away, one teen jumped on the back and began beating on it. Begic stopped and got out, and one of the men taunted him to fight before all four attacked — and continued to beat him after he fell to the ground”.

Suspect 17 year old Robert Mitchell, one of the four teens.
In response to the attack, a spokesperson for the Saint Louis police department released the following statement:
“We think it was wrong place, wrong time,” police spokeswoman Schron Jackson said.
Whoa, apparently, there are rules for safe transit in Saint Louis which both victims, Mr Dzananovic and Mr. Begic, violated. Hence, they subjected themselves to the “wrong place, wrong time” murder justification explanation.
Taken in the abstract the audacity of the authorities to blame the victim for his own brutal murder is horrendous enough. However, taken in context the outrage amplifies by exponential magnitudes. (more…)

OK. I agree LEO body cameras are a GREAT IDEA.

Black Lies Shatter

WHITE HOUSE – “The underlying issue here are broader then just race that this goes to sort of a foundational relationship again between law enforcement agencies and the communities they are sworn to serve and to protect. Surely discussions of race are an important part of that relationship. There is no doubt about that, but its more than just that.”
So what does antagonist Al Sharpton say about his White House advice and intentions? (more…)
CRS Coffers must be diminishing
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama asked Congress on Monday for $263 million for the federal response to the civil rights upheaval in Ferguson, Missouri, and is setting up a task force to study how to improve modern-day policing.
The funds would pay for body cameras for police officers to use and expand training for law enforcement in an attempt to build trust in communities such as Ferguson, where a grand jury decided not to indict a white police officer in the August shooting death of an unarmed black teenager, the White House said.
Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey and Laurie Robinson, a George Mason University professor who is a former assistant attorney general, will lead the task force on 21st century policing, officials said. (more…)
UPDATE: First teen, Robert Mitchell (17), to be charged as an adult in the attack:
Buried deep, intentionally deep, inside a Saint Louis Post dispatch article outlining the arrest of a 3rd suspect in the brutal murder of Zemir Begic you find the following passage:
[…] Seldin Dzananovic, 24, said the teens with the hammers approached him farther north on Gravois about an hour before the attack on Begic. He said he was able to fight them off, suffering only cuts to his hands and neck.
“I’m just lucky,” he said. “God is on my side.”
What’s that?
You mean the other white guy whose head was smashed by a group of “unarmed teens” wielding hammers was not the first subject of their collective interest that day? Nothing to see here, move along, move along…
And what, per se’, could possibly be going on in/around the Saint Louis area in the lead up to Mr. Begic’s encounter with the “teens” – that would have motivated a roaming group of “unarmed black teens” seeking victims?
[…] St. Louis police Chief Sam Dotson spoke with residents at the street protest Sunday night. He said he was sorry about what happened and sought to reassure people the killing did not appear motivated by race or ethnicity.
Nothing to see here folks, so sayeth Police Captain Dotson; who just happened to show up on the scene because it’s now his job to, well, you know, deflect attention from the consequences of allowing the ridiculous and unlawful. I digress. (more…)
French listed Ferguson’s police chief, saying it would be “impossible for this community to move forward with him still in that role.” French then called out St. Louis County’s police department, asking for answers to how they responded to the “peaceful protests” in August.
“Frankly,” French said, “the thing we haven’t seen is a lot of government accountability.” He added, “Not many people have taken responsibility for what’s happened and people are still waiting for answers and change.”
French holds a grudge against police from 2009 (more…)

…Those comments elicited gasp from a panel that included the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson and MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. Mitchell exclaimed “Whoa, whoa” during Lowry’s comments, while Robinson said his recitation of the known facts in the case was an attempt to “relitigate” Brown’s death.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will discuss the situation in Ferguson, Missouri, Monday with his Cabinet, civil rights leaders, law enforcement officials and others.
The White House says Obama’s Cabinet meeting will focus on his administration’s review of federal programs that provide military-style equipment to law enforcement agencies. (more…)
