Riddled throughout President Obama’s Executive Order speech last night was something more than prosecutorial discretion and/or non-deportation.  Extensively disbursed throughout the proposal was a claim of lawful “work/employment status”.

[…]  Now here’s the thing: we expect people who live in this country to play by the rules.  We expect that those who cut the line will not be unfairly rewarded.  So we’re going to offer the following deal:  If you’ve been in America for more than five years; if you have children who are American citizens or legal residents; if you register, pass a criminal background check, and you’re willing to pay your fair share of taxes – you’ll be able to apply to stay in this country temporarily, without fear of deportation.  You can come out of the shadows and get right with the law.

Later in the speech Obama condescendingly referenced the way he views the work of illegal aliens:

…[…] Are we a nation that tolerates the hypocrisy of a system where workers who pick our fruit and make our beds never have a chance to get right with the law?

Because in Obama’s America – Latino’s can only be fruit pickers, yard workers and housemaids right?  I digress. (more…)

The White House strategy to leak a far reaching executive office proposal (Fox News) appears to have been deliberately done to initiate angst in advance of a somewhat lesser, but still stretching, objective.   By leaking an extreme case scenario the lesser proposal usurpation becomes diluted/moderated.  President Obama is scheduled to give a prime time speech tomorrow night at 8pm with details saved for Friday in Las Vegas.

(Washington Post) President Obama will announce Thursday that he will use his executive authority to expand temporary protections to millions of undocumented immigrants, according to several individuals who have been briefed on the decision. Obama will travel to Las Vegas on the heels of that announcement to rally support for his initiative on Friday.
Congress will receive official details on the move Thursday, according to a senior Democratic Party official.
Even before final confirmation of the president’s plans, outside advocates began readying events to promote the administration’s immigration policy. (more…)

An enthusiastic crowd filled the auditorium earlier today.  Thousands of cheering fans sat eagerly on  their seat, anticipating,…. and then the moment came.  President Ted Cruz stepped onto the stage to resounding applause and announced:

“Capital Gains Taxes are impacting the capacity of our economy to expand; therefore effective tomorrow I’m instructing the IRS to cease and desist any collection or enforcement efforts in that regard.

Effective immediately businesses and individuals can, if they choose, discontinue filing capital gains incomes on their quarterly income tax returns. My administration will make no efforts to punish for non-payment.

However, congress can avoid such an executive order if they will simply send me a repeal bill for any and all corporate and individual capital gains revenue”.

Does it Sound ridiculous? Does it sound like something that might send Democrats and the media into 24/7 news cycles as they debate a constitutional crisis?

Yeah, apparently Congress is well, not too terribly concerned about the missing AUMF.   Either that, or, well, they were quite comfortable relying on Hank “Tippy Guam” Johnson to ask all of the insightful questions….

If you were to review the participation at today’s House Armed Services Committee for the testimony and Q&A of Defense Secretary Hagel or Joint Chief’s Martin Dempsey, you might walk away thinking our military were not in combat in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and dealing with Ebola in West Africa.  Russia invading Ukraine, Iran getting nuclear weapons, Libya in a state of civil war, U.S. Embassy evacuated in Yemen, terrorists on the border…..
…Yeah, three effen’ hours of their time is just too much to ask for.  Oh, but they’ll parade around the military like some kind of optical pawn of patriotism.  And, yet people wonder why events like Benghazi and operation zero footprint are possible.  Seriously.

*Sidenote* Charles Krauthammer just took Juan Williams to the woodshed on this issue, using an analogy around Capital Gains Taxation and the IRS.  EPIC – Juan was speechless… I’ll look for video.


FOX EXCLUSIVE: President Obama is planning to unveil a 10-part plan for overhauling U.S. immigration policy via executive action — including suspending deportations for millions — as early as next Friday, a source close to the White House told Fox News.
The president’s plans were contained in a draft proposal from a U.S. government agency. The source said the plan could be announced as early as Nov. 21, though the date might slip a few days pending final White House approval.  (more…)

The creeps are all over the place

(Via FOX NEWS) A Mexican judge has freed jailed US Marine Andrew Tahmooressi, his family said late Friday.

Tahmooressi, 26, who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, has been held since March 31, when he said he mistakenly crossed into Mexico with three legally-purchased and registered guns in his truck.
A court-appointed psychiatrist confirmed that Tahmooressi has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Family spokesman Jonathan Franks said the judge released him without making a determination on the charge against him. (more…)

The U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services have put out a contract order for enough holographic paper stock to print 34 million resident alien green cards.  Last Wednesday reporter began questioning White House spokesperson Josh Earnest about the motives behind the order – against the backdrop of reports discussed daily surrounding President Obama’s plans for widespread immigration decrees via executive order.

Josh Earnest awkwardly tried to laugh off the questioning until Chief White House Correspondent for CBS News, Major Garrett, became noticeably irked. “Don’t be absurd with us,” Garrett said. “That’s not just an ordinary colored sheet of paper. That is central, central to what the president has promised in public to do.”

…. Friday his rampage included shooting three police officers, killing two – and shooting another civilian in the head during a botched carjacking.

Those who followed the Sacramento Slayings as they unfolded will see confirmation of previous suspicions.  President Obama, Eric Holder and Jeh Johnson have blood on their hands, but obviously won’t admit it.
(SACRAMENTO – CA) Investigators were poring into the conflicting backgrounds Saturday of a Utah couple accused in a crime spree that killed two deputies, with federal authorities saying the 34-year-old man charged in the slayings has used at least two identities and has been deported from the United States twice in the past.
Sheriff’s officials have identified the suspect as Marcelo Marquez, but the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said in a statement Saturday that his name actually is Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte.
Monroy-Bracamonte was first deported to Mexico in 1997 following his arrest and conviction in Arizona for possession of narcotics for sale; he was arrested and returned to Mexico a second time in 2001. (more…)
