G7 Family Photo Event – A Multi-Continental Leadership Group Joins the "Group of Seven"…

The traditional G7 Family Photo event took an unusual twist on Sunday as leaders from Africa, India, South America and Australia joined the G7 assembly for the photo and leadership dinner at Hotel du Palais in Biarritz, France.
The backdrop is the grand plage (main beach) at the Hotel du Palais.  The photo-op is the last event available to media before dinner [media were not allowed to the dinner].
In addition to the G7 leaders [Macron, Merkel, Conte, Johnson, Trudeau, Tusk (EU), Abe and Trump] you will note a large delegation from Africa, PM Modi (India), PM Morrison (AU), President Sisi (Egypt) President Piñera (Chile); along with David Malpass (World Bank) and others.


At the end of the video Chilean President Sebastian Piñera along with his wife, Celia Morel, join Mr and Mrs. Macron along with Mr. and Mrs. Trump, on the riser for a set of photographs which seemed to be requested by President Donald Trump.

First Lady Melania Trump Visits Basque Village of Espelette, Southern France, During G7 Outing…

Frances’ First Lady Brigitte Macron took the spouses and partners of the G7 Summit leaders on a tour of a traditional Basque village near Biarritz, in the South of France.
First Lady Melania Trump and the entourage visited the Village of Espelette, the flower gardens of Villa Arnaga and the church of Saint-Etienne while their spouses were holding meetings and discussions at the G7 summit.

Day Two Schedule – G7 Summit Biarritz, France…

An interesting line-up of scheduled meetings (bilats) for U.S. President Donald Trump as the first official full day of the G7 Summit agenda takes place.
French President Macron has scheduled summit priorities around gender studies, global inequities, climate issues and planetary justice. However, the majority of international media focus will likely be on President Trump and Boris Johnson’s economic discussions.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrive in Biarritz, France for the 2019 G7 Summit.   U.S. President Trump will be meeting with Boris Johnson (U.S.), Emmanuel Macron (France), Angela Merkel (Germany), Shinzo Abe (Japan), Justin Trudeau (Canada), and Guiseppe Conte (Italy).

President Trump and the six other leaders of the Group of Seven nations will begin meeting Saturday for three days in the southwestern French resort town of Biarritz.

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump travel overnight Friday from the U.S. to France to attend the G7 summit in Biarritz.  The first couple will be touching down at 6:00am EST / 12pm Local.  Biarritz, France is 6 hours ahead of U.S. Eastern Timezone.

The U.K, Canada, Italy, Japan, France, Germany and the United States make up the “Group of Seven” or G7 nations.  However, two leaders from the EU also attend (EU Council President and EU Commission President) the summit.

THE PRESIDENT: We had an amazing day. As you know, we left Ohio. And the love and the respect for the office of the presidency, it was — I wish you could have been in there to see it. I wish you could have been in there.
And it was no different here. We went to the hospital — just came from the hospital. We were there a lot longer than we were anticipated to be. It was supposed to be just a fairly quick — we met with numerous people. We met with also the doctors, the nurses, the medical staff. They have done an incredible job — both places. Just incredible.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Visit Dayton Hospital and First Responders…

Conveying a message of support for those suffering and appreciation for the first responders, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump traveled to Dayton Ohio to visit victims from last weekend’s horrific mass shooting.
President Donald Trump and Melania met with patients at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton; and stopped between rooms to thank the hardworking medical staff.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump Pay Respect to Justice John Paul Stevens…

The body of retired justice John Paul Stevens, who died last week at age 99, returned Monday morning to the Great Hall of the Supreme Court, where he served for 35 terms.
The coffin of Justice Stevens, draped with an American flag, is in the center of the Great Hall, where he is lying in repose. The busts of former chief justices rest on the sides of the room.  This morning President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump paid their final respects.

The president and first lady bowed their heads in silent prayer before taking a few moments to view Justice Stevens portrait, holding hands. The first couple did not make public remarks and left a few moments later.

Weird Situation – President Trump Requests Consideration for U.S. Rapper A$AP Rocky Held in Stockholm…

At first blush this story is just odd.  A U.S. rap star has been held in prison for two weeks following a fight in Stockholm, Sweden.  Various people, including celebrities, have reached out to the White House and President Trump for help.  According to one report the administration was able to gain better holding conditions, but the entire story is weird.

Apparently the young American musician was stalked by a group prior to a concert, and a physical confrontation started.  Mr. Rocky’s (aka Rakim May) lawyers say the artist acted in self defense, apparently Swedish authorities consider the event very serious.

Earlier today, during an informal presser in the Oval Office, President Trump commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.  In addition to the Apollo event, the president took questions from media. [Video and Transcript below]

[Transcript] PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, thank you very much. Tomorrow is a very big day because tomorrow will represent 50 years from the time we planted a beautiful American flag on the moon. And that was an achievement — possibly, one of the great — considered one of the great achievements ever. And we’re going a lot further now. We’re going to the moon but we’re then going to Mars.
And I think, very importantly — and all of you folks know that, from a standpoint of defense, so important, where we’re going to be doing the Space Force. I assume you guys are all a fan of the Space Force, right? I’d be very surprised if you weren’t. But that’s where it’s at.
