Suspicious cat sparks are flying as Maria Bartiromo questions Connecticut Democrat Rep. Jim Himes about the intents and purposes of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) in the upcoming investigative sessions.
HPSCI Chairman Adam Schiff is closely coordinating with Speaker Nancy Pelosi, White House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings and Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler on the pre-established impeachment road map.
Preliminary oversight subpoenas and witness testimony kicks-off immediately after the Superbowl with a February 7th hearing for Michael Cohen and Lanny Davis.

The "Secret Research Project" – Why Did The IRS Give The DOJ Twenty-One CD ROM's?…

In October 2015 the DOJ announced it was dropping the investigation into the IRS, Lois Lerner, and the unlawful sharing of taxpayer data in the IRS targeting investigation surrounding True The Vote et al.
holder and obama
As a direct consequence of the DOJ decision, congressional inquiry into the IRS targeting matter seemingly dropped from the radar.
However, if you draw a line from the original intent of the entire enterprise, the post-2010 mid-term “shellacking”/”secret research project“, forward to the 2016 election cycle an interested observer might still be left asking:

“why did the IRS, through Lois Lerner, deliver the 1+ million pages of tax filings, to include the entire donor list of Tea Party and patriot groups, through 21 CD-ROMs and not by electronic data transfer. Information that was specifically sent to Eric Holder and the U.S. Department of Justice”?

This is an obvious question which, despite the numerous congressional hearings on the matter, was never asked – nor answered.
The entire scheme is riddled with complexity; almost too complex for the average person to understand, and seriously difficult to summarize. However, when you boil it down here’s the essential components that are no longer suspicion or supposition, but factually provable: (more…)

#3 – Former HUD Secretary Julian Castro Announces Democrat 2020 Presidential Bid…

Senator Elizabeth “Lialotta” Warren was first; then came Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard; now comes number three: former HUD Secretary Julian Castro.

SAN ANTONIO — Julián Castro, a former U.S. Cabinet secretary, launched his presidential campaign in the hometown where he served as mayor for three terms. The announcement surprised few, but puts him near the front of what is expected to be a jam-packed field of White House hopefuls.

Making the announcement at Plaza Guadalupe in the San Antonio West Side neighborhood where he grew up, Castro said in English and Spanish on Saturday that he is running for president. (read more)

#2 – Democrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard Announces Her Intent to Run for President in 2020…

Following the announcement last week that Senator Elizabeth Warren will run for the office of President in 2020, U.S. House Representative Tulsi Gabbard announces today she will also be a candidate; a formal announcement will be made next week.
Don’t count out Gabbard. She fits the profile of a more likeable candidate who can unite several Democrat tribes.
In my opinion, unlike Warren, when the dust from an aggressive primary run begins to settle, Gabbard will be in the final four. However, historically speaking, no house representative without any prior executive experience (Governor etc.) has ever been able to win the nomination.  More likely the DNC will use Gabbard as a splitter to select their preferred and pre-selected nominee.

For supporters evaluating whether or not President Trump will run for reelection to a second term in office, this video provides some interesting insight.  If you watched the earlier Frontline interview (really good) with Parscale, aspects within this interview make much more sense (bigger backstory).
President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale sits down with Martha MacCallum to discuss the president’s re-election bid, and what swing voters will think of Trump’s moves on border security.

I’ll embed the Frontline interview at the bottom. If you’ve never watched it, carve out an hour and you’ll likely enjoy.

Confirmed – Michael Cohen Will Deliver Public Testimony on Thursday February 7th….

In December CTH outlined the likely sequence of events that professional democrats will follow.  Michael Cohen and Robert Mueller provide the first parts of the foundation.  A week ago House Speaker Nancy Pelosi published rules confirming the general outline and sequencing.  Yesterday the DOJ confirmed the timing for Robert Mueller.
Today House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings confirms the timing of Michael Cohen.  Public testimony for Michael Cohen is scheduled for February 7th:

Washington, D.C. (Jan. 10, 2019)—Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, announced the schedule for Committee hearings in January and February and issued the following statement:

“I thank Michael Cohen for agreeing to testify before the Oversight Committee voluntarily.  I want to make clear that we have no interest in inappropriately interfering with any ongoing criminal investigations, and to that end, we are in the process of consulting with Special Counsel Mueller’s office.  The Committee will announce additional information in the coming weeks.”  (link)

Pence, McCarthy, Scalise and Thune Describe White House Meeting With Intransigent Democrats…

Vice President Mike Pence, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Minority Whip Steve Scalise and Senate Majority Whip John Thune describe the events at a White House meeting with President Trump, Speaker Pelosi, Majority Leader Hoyer, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Dick Durbin….  Things did not go well:

.
It would appear congress is at loggerheads over border security, with democrats unwilling to provide any funding that might secure the southern border.  Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have stated the border is secure; there are no illegal border crossings actually taking place; and there is no crisis.  As such, the partial government shutdown continues.

Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein Will Exit DOJ After Mueller Submits Report, Likely Mid-to-late February…

Reports from inside the DOJ to allied resistance media announce that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will leave the DOJ once special counsel Robert Mueller (the team, not the person) submits their investigative report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Generally speaking, media reporting can be taken with a grain of proverbial salt; however, with these events it’s likely allied resistance media have embeds within the special counsel and DOJ coordinating leaks on their behalf.  Additionally, this latest report aligns almost identically with the CTH prediction for legislative action.  In short, it just makes sense.

WASHINGTON — Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who had been overseeing the special counsel investigation, plans to step down after Robert Mueller submits his report, according to administration officials familiar with his thinking.

A source close to Rosenstein said he intends to stay on until Mueller submits a report to the Justice Department on the Russian meddling investigation. The source said that would mean Rosenstein would remain until early March.

Several legal sources have said they expect the Mueller team to submit its report by mid-to-late February, although they said that timeline could change based on unforeseen investigative developments. (read more)

This report aligns with the predictable sequencing of events we previously outlined from reviewing Democrat plans and Pelosi’s legislative rules requests and schedules.
