Senator Kay Hagan holds a razor thin margin over her Republican challenger, Thom Tillis. Senator Kay Hagan was recently outlined in a nepotism scandal regarding her family business profiting off her stimulus vote.  The North Carolina media have curiously avoided discussing the initial scandal….. then last night they published an article outlining a recommendation of “further legal investigation”… and then, quickly scrubbed it.  They are being called to task.
(Via National Review) Republicans accused the Charlotte Observer of engaging in a “conspiracy of silence” after it pulled its story about a state government memo calling for “legal review” of stimulus grants given to the family of Senator Kay Hagan (D., N.C.).

(Commentary Magazine)  One of the most important sidebars to the furor over the decision of two “senior administration officials” to tell columnist Jeffrey Goldberg that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was a “chickenshit” coward was their boast that he had missed his chance to prevent them from making a weak deal allowing Iran to become a threshold nuclear state.
Aside from the general discussion about an administration that is diffident about criticizing actual enemies of the United States choosing to lob outrageous insults at America’s sole democratic ally is the question whether this was a part of an effort to pre-empt Israeli criticism of a weak Iran nuclear deal or was merely just another instance of the Obama foreign policy team’s lack of discipline and incompetence. The Washington Post editorial page has weighed in on behalf of the latter point of view. But unfortunately there is good reason to think this latest administration attack on Israel was part of a calculated strategy on Iran. (more…)

Discussing a push-back victory against the left on Tuesday, we’re struck by the following reality:

President Obama and his ideological co-horts have, presumably, pulled the Democrat party further left -toward bigger government- than previous.
For the sake of argument, ok, accepted.
However, the establishment Decepticon class has similarly, and over essentially the same period, also pulled the Republican party further left toward big government.
If the correction for Democrats is a more “moderate” position, essentially as “Clintonian” and outlined in the modern punditry, pushing back toward the center – then where exactly is the countering force pushing the Republican side similarly rightward, back toward a more principled conservative foundation? WASHINGTON – Deputy National Security Adviser and MFA in creative writing Ben Rhodes likened an Iranian nuclear deal to Obamacare in a talk to progressive activists last January, according to audio obtained by the Washington Free Beacon (below).
The remarks, made at a since-discontinued regular meeting of White House personnel and representatives of liberal interest groups, reveal the importance of a rapprochement with Iran to President Obama, who is looking to establish his legacy as his presidency enters its lame-duck phase.

Historical BACKSTORY – Martha Coakley was the Democrat in Massachusetts who the DNC selected to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat.    Feeling sure she would win the January 2010 election, against unknown Republican Candidate Scott Brown, Mrs. Coakley went on a 3 week Caribbean Christmas vacation.
It wasn’t only Martha who was so confident.  The media and political punditry was so certain only a Democrat could win the seat that polling was never even scheduled, requested, or paid for.  No-one was even polling the electorate leading up to the election.
A tanned and relaxed Coakley returned to Massachusetts in the first week of January only to find out that Scott Brown’s campaign rallies were massive, growing and full of enthusiastic supporters.   After she picked her jaw off the floor she quickly begged President Obama to come rescue her.   It didn’t work.
That was 2010.   This is 2014, same lady now running for Governor:

Two days ago Attorney General Eric Holder protested leaks from within the investigation of Ferguson; he said “they need to shut up“.  {{*nudge, nudge, wink, wink*}}
Following Holder’s protestations, less than a few hours passed before Trymaine Lee was the recipient of more DOJ leaks saying the DOJ intended to “shake up” the Ferguson Police Department.
This ‘do-as-we-say’ approach follows the New York Times outlining DOJ leaks showcasing a non-existent case, and aligned with CNN outlining more DOJ leaks claiming the intention of Eric Holder to deconstruct the entire Police Department.

Of course all of this conflicting DOJ-led reporting is annoying for the police chief, mayor, city council and government officials in and around Ferguson Missouri, and prosecutors in Saint Louis who have retained security of the evidence and have NOT been leaking information to the media.
As Police Chief Thomas Jackson told CNN yesterday, Eric Holder -or any representative acting on his behalf- has not talked to a single person in government of Ferguson, nor conducted a single interview.  Quite the opposite, neither he, the major, city council, nor anyone from any agency have talked to these mysterious federal officials that Eric Holder is now claiming are making decisions about what is to take place.
