A guest on the Michael Dyson show (a director of “Africana studies” at Lehigh University), calls the rioting “understandable” and a “red herring”.

The real issue underpinning the Brown shooting is the failure of the “system” and police officers, specifically….

“They can handle the riot and stop the riot and control the riot,” he said dismissively. “But the real question is can we get our criminal justice system, can we get our police departments, to acknowledge the humanity of black and brown folks?”

He goes on to state the police “abused” their power and “terrorized” the community for “hours”.

Of course, the people in those communities are not responsible for the irresponsible choices they make.  Oh noes.

Of course, since this is the end game – handcuffing the responses of any law enforcement officer when dealing with a black suspect – it now makes more sense why Sharpton has taken the lead on this and Crumpster is a player in the background.  This is much bigger fish than simply overturning “Stand Your Own”.  (Read more...)

NYPD has released security video of a black male in his 20s assaulting a 72-year-old man, who appears to be white, walking down the street in the West Village on Monday afternoon. After the man fell to the ground, police say the suspect ran to the other side of the street to an awaiting black male. Police are now looking for both suspects. (link)

The games continue.
Last month Judge Emmet Sullivan of the U.S. District Court in Washington gave the Internal Revenue Service exactly a month -until Aug. 10- to file a report, which he demanded as part of a lawsuit from a conservative watchdog, Judicial Watch, against the agency.
Judge Sullivan said the inspector general’s investigation shouldn’t stop the IRS from detailing under oath what happened to Lerner’s emails.   The contention, at the heart of the matter, is the missing “emails” that Lerner sent and/or received during the time conservative groups were being targeted by the IRS.
The goal of the Judge was to provide relief for Judicial Watch in the form of pinning down the IRS to explain how they lost, and were unable to recover, over a year of internal emails from Ms. Lerner.   Again, the specific goal was forcing the IRS to outline the missing “emails”.

Daily Caller reports the PD requested the NOTAMS after shots were fired at a county chopper.

Put this into the memory file that holds evidence of why the White House was so totally disconnected when they decided to arm Libyan and Syrian al-Qaeda rebels in 2011.

During a Monday afternoon segment discussing the police shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, guest Jonathan Capehart suggested that black men have to go extra lengths to ensure their safety in public.

“Don’t run in public,” he said. “Don’t run with anything in your hands. Keep a discreet distance away from white women, lest you get accused of any number of things.” His larger point being that a black male looking and talking a certain way in public could lead to unwanted assumptions or trouble, more so than any other race. (CNSNews.com) – Giving what was dubbed the “California Welcome,” Gov. Jerry Brown told attendees at the 31st Annual National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Conference in June that affluent families seemed to not be “producing” children in the state.
“I don’t know what the affluent families are doing,” Brown said. “They’re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families.”
At the conference, held in San Diego, Calif., in late June, Brown said California had addressed the fact that millions of children in the state’s school do not speak English.
“You have to do more to be able to create that opportunity and that pathway for those families that are not having that same skill of speaking English as others,” Brown said.
“In California, out of six million students, two million are designated English-language learners, and that means extra money for that school, as well as for low-income families, and that’s about half the students in California,” Brown said.
“It’s pretty amazing,” Brown said. “I don’t know what the affluent families are doing.
“They’re not producing or something, because half the kids in schools are from low-income families,” Brown said.
Brown also spoke about immigration and “brown power.”
“Yeah, there’s a border, but there’s something bigger,” Brown said.
“And that is the human family,” said Brown, adding that California works with other countries on issues ranging from trade to climate change.  (read more)
