Unlike the socially hip meme toward the missing/kidnapped Nigerian Schoolgirls, and unlike a black Harvard Professor arrested by police -and quickly defined by the White House as “acting stupidly”-; and unlike a 17-year-old disciplinary diversion student killed in the act of attacking a Hispanic man, the plight of an American citizen’s wife -soon to be hanged merely for being Christian- does not rise to the level of being #hashtag worthy.   Heck, it doesn’t even rise to the level of State Dept. ‘Give-A-Damn’.

The remarkable aspect -beyond the obvious- is actually American Daniel Wani asking the State Department for help and being told to go away.    Maybe he’s the wrong kind of black man; a Christian kind.

New York Daily News – The parents of George Zimmerman want comedian Roseanne Barr to pay up $750,000 for emotional damage and other expenses for posting their address on Twitter.

Robert and Gladys Zimmerman say the tweet by Barr on March 29, 2012, caused $600,000 in emotional distress, according to federal court documents, after they were forced to “flee their house in the middle of the night.” (more…)

New York – A Brooklyn fare-beater allegedly punched a young woman in the face while apparently playing the “knockout game” in a Manhattan PATH station — and her friend chased him down, put him in a chokehold and forced him to apologize, sources said.

Ibrahim King, 36, allegedly slugged 21-year-old Elizabeth Mejia, breaking her orbital bone, in the Ninth Street station around 3:40 a.m. Sunday.

“He looks at her for a very short moment and then he pulls his right fist back and lunges across the railing and punches her in the face,” said Mejia’s friend Steve Sala.

CALIFORNIA – A yearbook photo of a high school teacher making a political statement by dressing up like slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin was stirring up controversy in the community Thursday.

As classes let out for the day at Brentwood’s Heritage High School in Brentwood, California Thursday, students were more excited than usual because the school had issued the 2014 yearbook.

Very quickly, a portrait taken by longtime history teacher Spencer Smith became a hot topic sweeping across campus.

In the photo, Smith is dressed like Trayvon Martin, the Florida teenager killed by neighborhood watch coordinator George Zimmerman in 2012.

Smith is wearing a hoodie with the hood covering his head and he’s holding a bag of Skittles candy.

Reactions to the photo among students were mixed.

“I think it’s OK that he did it, just not in the yearbook. I think he can do it at his house or on his Facebook. But not in the yearbook,” said sophomore Amber McKim. (more…)

Forget the fact we still don’t know why Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi. Forget the fact that none of the other injured victims have been allowed to testify publically about events in Benghazi. Forget the fact that both the White House and State Dept have fought to hide information about the Benghazi 9-11 attack. Forget the fact the CIA and White House are in direct contradiction to each other.  Forget the fact that for some reason the activity in Benghazi Libya was an unknown joint State Dept./CIA operation.   Forget the fact Obama, Clinton, Power and Rice armed al-Qaeda operatives, “the rebels” in Benghazi.

Forget all that stuff…. Any Libyan inquiry is grounded in a racist motivation. So sayeth the CBC and Clyburn.

(Via Huffington Post)  Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis received a hostile greeting in Los Angeles Thursday morning, when life-sized posters depicting her as “Abortion Barbie” began popping up throughout the city ahead of her fundraiser there.

The posters say “Hollywood welcomes Abortion Barbie Wendy Davis,” and they show Davis’ face on a mostly-naked barbie doll with a plastic baby in her belly. Conservative pundit Erick Erickson nicknamed Davis “Abortion Barbie” earlier this year because when she was a state senator, she stood on her feet and spoke for 11 hours straight to filibuster a draconian package of anti-abortion bills. The unfiltered Mavericks owner said he could see himself as a hypocrite if he votes in favor of Donald Sterling’s lifetime ban because he believes that he — everyone, really — is bigoted or prejudiced in some way, and he invoked the example of “a black kid in a hoodie” to try to make his point.

“I know I’m prejudiced. I know I’m bigoted in a lot of different ways,” he said in the interview with Inc. at their GrowCo business conference Wednesday in Nashville. “I’ve said this before: If I see a black kid in a hoodie at night on the same side of the street, I’m probably going to walk to the other side of the street. That classified assessment, which has never before been publicly disclosed, was in keeping with the message coming from the White House. President Obama rode to re-election in 2012 partly on the success of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. At rallies and in press conferences, the president and top officials publicly said al Qaeda was on the run.

But some senior U.S. intelligence officials, like Defense Intelligence Agency Director Gen. Michael Flynn, fought hard against that assessment, which amounted to an official pronouncement of the American intelligence community’s collected wisdom. Flynn and his faction won a partial victory, striking the judgment that the terrorist group no longer posed a threat to the homeland. “Flynn and others at the time made it clear they would not go along with that kind of assessment,” one U.S. intelligence officer who worked on the al Qaeda file told The Daily Beast. “It was basically: ‘Over my dead body.’” (more…)
