The Daily Beast has another good recap of a speech recently delivered by the evolving wannabe head of ISIS, Recep Erdogan.   Erdogan views himself as natural heir to the recreation of the Ottoman empire – ISIS is a means to accomplish that goal…. 
TURKEY – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took on the iconic Lawrence of Arabia Monday in a furious anti-Western diatribe. The Turkish president compared the outside meddling in the region now to the role the renowned British army officer played during the Arab Revolt against the Ottomans during World War I. And Western diplomats here say the tirade bears a rather striking resemblance to some of the propaganda that has come out of the so-called Islamic State, widely known by the acronym ISIS or ISIL.

Last week, stung by Western criticism of Turkey’s conspicuous absence from the U.S.-led air combat against the terror organization, and the refusal of the Turkish government to rescue the besieged town of Kobani, just across the Syrian border, Erdoğan insisted he had no sympathy for the jihadists.
But on one very important point of history and geography it now appears there’s a serious convergence of views between ISIS and Erdoğan. In his speech Monday at a university in Istanbul, the Turkish president blasted the Sykes-Picot Agreement, a secret understanding (signed behind Lawrence’s back) that divided up the Middle East after World War I between British and French spheres of influence. The primary problem for the Ferguson thugs is evidenced within the guidance provided by the professional grievance class – a problem of authenticity.

Cutting right to the heart of the matter, and despite the earnest efforts of the professional left, their protests cannot gain traction.

You can also see the problem within the assistance of the united professional left who tried to coordinate Ferguson October.
At the heart of the issue is the inauthentic grievance….
A troubled thug, Mike Brown, represents the modern issue within the black grievance industry.  No matter how they try to frame the narrative, the basic foundation is a thug, doing thug-type behavior, was justifiably shot by law enforcement. No amount of leftist spin can assist the narrative when the foundational flaw is brutally obvious.
We can see the perpetually aggrieved trying desperately to find authenticity, but nothing is sticking.

Australia’s Prime Minister has refused to commit personnel to battle ebola directly inside Africa, although the country has committed $18 million in financial resources to assist West Africa contain the outbreak.
The Australian news agency reports that “growth is out of control” and cases in Liberia are doubling every 15 – 20 days.
It is important to be aware that these models are based on known or reported cases – however, all medical personnel have affirmed that no one truly knows the number of actual cases, because many rural areas are refusing to cooperate with investigators.

Dark blue shows the number of actual cases while light blue is projections for the next four weeks.

IT’S the deadliest Ebola outbreak the world has seen — claiming more than 4033 lives and infecting double that as it rampages around the world. (link)

One cannot praise the fighting resolve of the Kurdish people in Kobane Syria too much. The Kurdish men, and especially women, are amazing fighters and together with ordinary citizens including grandparents and children, they are striking back against ISIS.

That was six months ago and last week she contacted him and explained she was fighting the militants of the Islamic State in the besieged town of Kobani.
There is both sadness and pride in her father’s eyes. Ali, a 47-year-old shepherd and father of ten from a nearby village, says, “She is greater than me. I can’t be like her. I have not reached her level of commitment.” (more…)

I hold no opinion of Carly Fiorina in a general sense, but the way she responded to Chris Wallace’s retort about Syria and Obama was exactly excellent. Right on target – as she drew out the insufferable pretzel logic. Well done.

The True Story Of Enterovirus D68 is Not A Story of Surprise

Back in July of 2014 we outlined how the “surprise influx” of Unaccompanied Alien Children from Central America was not in actuality “a surprise”.  We knew it was not a surprise because the Obama Administration was specifically pre-planning for an influx a full seven months before the story began to reach the headlines:

On January 29th of this year, the federal government posted an advertisement seeking bids for a vendor contract to handle “Unaccompanied Alien Children“.
Not just any contract mind you, but a very specific contract – for a very specific number of unaccompanied minors: 65,000.

Obviously the key take-away was:  How could DHS and HHS claim a surprise when they were specifically looking for contractors to handle a very specific number of UAC’s seven month earlier?

Immediately we knew a few things.  First, we knew it wasn’t a surprise.  Second, we know this administration never lets a crisis go to waste.   The UAC crisis was soon framed as a ‘humanitarian crisis’ to position a more favorable outcome for comprehensive immigration reform.  It almost worked.

Gov. Dannel Malloy has signed an executive order effectively enabling the indefinite suspension of civil rights in the state of Connecticut.  He’s given his Commissioner of the Department of public Health the ability to quarantine, or otherwise detain, any person or group suspected of being infected with the Ebola virus. 

Note…all this has been done “preemptively”, because no specific case has yet to be identified.

No one can match Stalin for merciless cynicism, but President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey is offering a determined echo by ordering Turkish tanks massed on the Syrian border, within sight of the besieged Syrian town of Kobani, to sit and do nothing.
For almost a month, Kobani Kurds have been trying to hold off Islamic State fighters. Outgunned, outmanned, and surrounded on three sides, the defending Kurds have begged Turkey to allow weapons and reinforcements through the border. Erdogan has refused even that, let alone intervening directly. Infuriated Kurds have launched demonstrations throughout Turkey protesting Erdogan’s deadly callousness. Protesters broke a window at the Medicine Shoppe burned several American flags after taking one from the Beauvais Manor nursing home and threw at least one brick through the window of a home along Flora Avenue. Last week Vice-President Joe Biden told a Harvard audience the Obama administration was aware Qatar was financing Sunni jihadists in Syria 2012 and 2013.  However, the same administration sent the GITMO terrorists to Qatar in 2014? 

WASHINGTON DC – The Army has completed its investigation into Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s 2009 disappearance from his post in Afghanistan that led to his subsequent capture by the Taliban, according to a news report Thursday.

A report by the investigating officer, Brig. Gen. Kenneth Dahl, is now being reviewed by commanders, but will not be released, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Army spokesman Wayne Hall said the review process likely would be lengthy, and that “the Army’s priority is ensuring that our process is thorough, factually accurate, impartial, and legally correct,” according to the report.
The Army is looking into whether Bergdahl had deserted his post in Afghanistan or was away without leave before he was captured, which would be violations of, and punishable, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (more…)
