FLORIDA – The Marion County Commission on Tuesday unanimously agreed to restore the Confederate flag that had been removed from the McPherson Governmental Complex two weeks ago.

Several members of the public spoke in favor of restoring the flag during the commission’s bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday morning. At the end of the meeting, the commission unanimously agreed to restore the flag. It will also create a historical display so that people can understand the significance of the Confederate flag as well as the other flags flying in front of the complex.

The Confederate flag was removed in the wake of the June 17 killing of African-American churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina. The accused killer had expressed racist beliefs and had been pictured waving the Confederate flag. (more…)

Good grief, could this flippin’ preventable murder get any more bizarre?  First we learn Kate Steinle was randomly shot by an illegal alien.  Then we learn ICE had requested notification of his release, which the Sheriff’s Department ignored.  Then the illegal alien claimed he shot Ms. Steinle accidentally while trying to shoot a sea lion (a position he has since modified).  Now it comes out the gun he used actually belonged to a “federal agent”.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — KRON 4 has learned that the gun used to kill a 32-year-old woman on San Francisco’s Pier 14 belonged to a federal agent.

A Sig Sauer pistol was used in the fatal shooting, a source told KRON 4. The gun was recovered last Thursday in the bay by a police dive team. The source described the weapon as being an expensive, high-end, common police gun.

Another source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN’s Sara Sidner that the gun belonged to a federal agent. (more…)

President Obama’s next, most likely last, hope to implement his Executive Action on Immigration will take place this week.  MSM Silent.

Texas Judge Andrew Hanen previously blocked Obama’s 2014 unconstitutional “Executive Action on immigration” which expanded deferred deportation and granted employment status for illegal aliens.   The DOJ appealed the injunction to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.  On May 26th, 2015, the DOJ lost and Hanen’s injunction was upheld by a three judge panel within the appellate court (2-1).

The DOJ had two options after their loss in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals:

♦ They could request a summary review by the U.S. Supreme Court (the 5th CCA district review SCOTUS justice is Antonin Scalia).  Or,
♦ they could ask for the entire panel (full panel) of the 5th CCA to seat and hear full oral arguments.

Two days after their appellate loss, on May 28th, the DOJ chose the latter.  An expedited hearing was scheduled for July 10th,  THIS FRIDAY. (more…)

BOSTON – The Christopher Columbus statue in the North End was vandalized yesterday — with red paint dumped on its head and “Black Lives Matter” emblazoned on its base — in a defacing that left one local leader frustrated the cherished site was used for protest.

“For someone who was in the neighborhood, I certainly sympathize with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ discussions,” said state Rep. Aaron Michlewitz. “But, I think there’s a better way to get your point across than to vandalize public property — even with the complexities that surround Christopher Columbus’ history.”

Daunasia Yancey, founder and lead organizer at Black Lives Matter Boston, said her group wasn’t behind it, but “we fully support it.” (more…)

BALTIMORE – Public interest in the prosecution of six Baltimore police officers charged in the arrest and death of Freddie Gray will not diminish enough to seat an impartial jury in the city in time for the officers’ October trials, their attorneys argued in a new court filing Monday.

Because of that, the attorneys wrote, the case should be removed from the city now — without waiting, as prosecutors have suggested, to see how the intense scrutiny of the case plays out.

“The feeling of unrest among city residents is still chillingly evident as violent crime continues to climb to the highest level in decades, police and community relations remain embattled, and Freddie Gray remains fresh in the minds of Baltimore City citizens,” the officers’ attorneys wrote. Make no mistake about it, Donald Trump can win the GOP nomination and the White House in 2016 – But it will take a herculean amount of support from ordinary Americans to do it.

Like many others, I initially found myself doubtful that Donald Trump was going to actually mount a campaign. Now however, I’m increasingly and cautiously -even happily- optimistic he does actually intend to win the nomination. However, it’s going to take a huge amount of support from the body electorate to help Trump withstand what is in front of him.

Trump is the absolute nightmare of modern liberalism. In many ways his unabashed and unapologetic free market capitalism is the antithesis of everything progressives hate, and we do mean HATE.

However, in addition to the easily predictable supernova of hatred from the left, Trump will bring out a similar level of never before seen hatred from the professional political class within the Establishment Republican party, the GOP.

For those who have chosen to ignore years of indicators of such a strain of anger, bitterness and spite within the GOP, you are going to see it like never before. (more…)

This is exactly what Trump should do. And the reaction from the liberals in the media will exemplify why this is so dangerous to them. Remember, liberals jump on shootings to call for gun control, they exploit every tragedy for political benefit; yet they will now rail against Trump for calling for a secure border – against the backdrop of this story.   Do Not Back Down – Call Dem’s out on their hypocritical and selective moral outrage.

Kathryn “Kate” Steinle, 32, was shot to death in broad daylight by alleged shooter Francisco Sanchez in front of her dad and a friend.  Sanchez, 45, is a 7-time felon who should have been handed over to immigration authorities following a Bay Area arrest four months ago. Kate’s mother, 69-year-old Liz Sullivan said, “She just kept saying, ‘Dad, help me, help me'”. Two television news crews reporting on the killing were later mugged at the scene, with a masked gunman pistol-whipping a camera operator.

On June 24th we somewhat sarcastically predicted that PGA golfer Bubba Watson would be sucked into the ridiculous vortex that is “confederate flag syndrome”.

Today, that ridiculous prediction has come true.

Golf star Bubba Watson will paint over the Confederate flag on the General Lee, a prop car from the television show “The Dukes of Hazzard,” in light of the brewing controversy over the flag.  (link)
