The lede is buried in this WBAL story and totally absent in the Baltimore Sun story.  Prosecution witness Dontae Allen is in federal custody in New York – Wait, wha.. huh?

The revelation surfaces as Judge Barry Williams ponders sanctions against prosecutor Marilyn Mosby for attempting to hide statements by Allen which would seem to vindicate the Baltimore Six officers.  Allen previously stated he heard Freddie Gray trying to injure himself inside the police transport vehicle; Mosby tried to hide the statements.

Perhaps this is why Judge Williams has now placed a gag-order on the entire case barring the State Attorney and defense attorneys from discussing the case in the media.  The gag order will be finalized Wednesday (TODAY).

Bye Bye Donut Shop !!

What was once considered an outlier event, refusing service to a police officer, is now becoming common place amid the national franchise chain of Dunkin Donuts restaurants.
Adding to the frequency, two more separate events in this weekend; one in Rhode Island and another in Connecticut.

In one event an employee refused to serve a police officer and the owner overhead the denial:

[…] According to the police report, the employee noticed the officer at the back of the line and she loudly said, “he didn’t get the message, we don’t serve cops here,” according to police.
The officer left the busy store without any further interaction with employees, and as he returned to his car, the store’s manager and the employee approached him, offering apologies for the comment, police said. The employee said she was joking.

In October of 2013 a 14-year-old student named Philip Chism, beat, raped and murdered his teacher, Colleen Ritzer, his trial begins this week.  His defense is claiming the teacher used a “trigger word”.

At the time of the initial murder, the brutality of the attack created some intensely horrific potential headlines.  As a consequence the politically correct LEO and Massachusetts media, needed to avoid the uncomfortable racial aspect, and documented Chism as “white” with “dark complexion”.  Backstory HERE and HERE.
After his arrest, Chism was sent to a juvenile detention facility.  While at the juvie facility Chism stalked and attacked a female staff worker at the detention center.  As a consequence he was re-arrested (with additional charges pending) and removed to a high security prison without the possibility for bail. He is being tried as an adult.
Chism initially confessed to killing Ritzer, his algebra teacher, when being questioned by authorities.  However, the judge disallowed his confession based on the potential for him not understanding his right to remain silent. (more…)

Matthew Smith is the 18-year-old student who Umpqua Community College shooter, Christopher Mercer, selected to take possession of an envelope containing a manifesto and computer flash drive.
It is apparent from a CNN video interview with Matthew Smith’s mother, Summer Smith, that she (they) have been given instructions not to discuss what Matthew was given.  See Video:

Divorced in 2006
Ian Mercer (DAD) comes forward and says he had no idea his son had any firearms. He also claims the last time he saw his son was prior to Chris and Laurel moving to Oregon.

The parents divorce was in 2006 and Chris Mercer was always in the parental custody of his mom, Laurel Margaret Harper, so it is possible the father had no idea – but it strains a level of credulity that Mom and Son all-of-a-sudden took up a firearm hobby. NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) — School Police were called to intervene after a fight broke out at a South Florida elementary school between students and parents.
The large fight occurred at West Little River K-8 Center, at 2450 N.W. 84th St., Friday morning.

Two adults and four juveniles were taken into custody by Miami-Dade Schools Police. One of the adults has been charged with carrying a weapon on school grounds after officials discovered a butcher knife in her purse. The second adult was charged with aggravated battery. Many of you may remember the name “Umar Lee” aka “Bret Lee” from the Ferguson protests in 2014.   In the months of Ferguson Black Lives Matter protests, Umar Lee surfaced as a rather unstable fellow who called on his BLM cohorts to engage in violence.

Porter was the only one not to attend the hearing.  It appears Marilyn Mosby is leveraging Porter against the other five defendants; perhaps that explains Porter’s absence in court.

(Via Baltimore Sun) The six Baltimore police officers charged in Freddie Gray’s arrest and death will be tried separately over the course of the next several months, with proceedings against Officer William G. Porter starting Nov. 30.
The new timeline, which pushes the trials back from a previously scheduled date of Oct. 13, was established during a hearing in Circuit Court on Tuesday afternoon, where five of the six officers appeared before Judge Barry Williams for the first time. Porter waived his right to attend the hearing.

The BLM movement has been well documented to include some of the most anti-social, hate-filled elements of the Occupy crowd; only BLM one comes with specific violence toward police and law enforcement.
(TPM) – Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called on Americans to focus on racial justice and expressed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement in a Sunday speech at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate in Boston.
Warren referenced the late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s (D-MA) focus on civil rights issues and said, “If his life and death had a meaning, it was that we should not hate but love one another; we should use our powers not to create conditions of oppression that lead to violence, but conditions of freedom that lead to peace.”
She said that since the Civil Rights Act, the United States has not come close enough to equality.
“Fifty years later, we have made real progress toward creating the conditions of freedom — but we have not made enough progress,” she said, according to her prepared remarks. (more…)
