In an appearance to promote the upcoming season of his HBO talk show, liberal commentator Bill Maher slammed politically-correct liberals for not truly standing up for free speech in the aftermath of the attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices. Maher referred to the aforementioned liberals as a “pussy nation,” adding that they must stand up for their principles.
[…] Maher made his comments to ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel on his late night show Wednesday night. “This was really big shit,” Maher said. “And we have to not avoid who did this.” “Well, we presume…” Kimmel said before Maher cut him off. Watch:
Hugh Hewitt challenges Catholic League President Bill Donohue on the following statement:
…”While some Muslims today object to any depiction of the Prophet, others do not. Moreover, visual representations of him are not proscribed by the Koran. What unites Muslims in their anger against Charlie Hebdo is the vulgar manner in which Muhammad has been portrayed. What they object to is being intentionally insulted over the course of many years. On this aspect, I am in total agreement with them.
Stephane Charbonnier, the paper’s publisher, was killed today in the slaughter. It is too bad that he didn’t understand the role he played in his tragic death. In 2012, when asked why he insults Muslims, he said, “Muhammad isn’t sacred to me.” Had he not been so narcissistic, he may still be alive. Muhammad isn’t sacred to me, either, but it would never occur to me to deliberately insult Muslims by trashing him”…
Let it not be said that Islamists have the market cornered on moonbat religious idiocy.
Whereas earlier we shared MSNBC equivocating lawsuits with murderous slaughter, similarly Catholic League President Bill Donohue essentially says, yeah, well those horrible cartoonists deserved it; they had it coming; they asked for it….
(Via TR) Bill Donohue, President of the Catholic League, decried the violence of the Charlie Hebdo massacre on his organization’s website, but contended the French satirical magazine brought the attack on itself by publishing offensive cartoons. Donohue started by saying that the killing, “must be unequivocally condemned” but “neither should we tolerate the kind of intolerance that provoked this violent reaction.”
“Those who work at this newspaper have a long and disgusting record of going way beyond the mere lampooning of public figures, and this is especially true of their depictions of religious figures. For example, they have shown nuns masturbating and popes wearing condoms. They have also shown Muhammad in pornographic poses. (more…)

(Daily Mail) Four of France’s most revered cartoonists – Stephane Charbonnier, Georges Wolinski, Bernard ‘Tignous’ Verlhac and Jean Cabut – were among 12 people executed by masked gunmen in Paris today at the offices of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Two masked men brandishing Kalashnikovs burst into the magazine’s headquarters this morning, opening fire on staff, also shooting dead contributor Bernard Maris, 68.
Police officers were involved in a gunfight with the ‘calm and highly disciplined men’, who escaped in a hijacked car, speeding away towards east Paris. (more…)
The left-wing media machine is striking out against Sharyl Attkisson for filing suit. However, what the professional left fail to address is the ever present question: what other venue for redress does Attkisson have? The DOJ obtusely denies the claim stating:
To our knowledge, the Justice Department has never compromised Ms. Attkisson’s computers, or otherwise sought any information from or concerning any telephone, computer or other media device she may own or use. (link)
Yet, within the legal DOJ obfuscation you’ll note the absence of a specific denial. Against the backdrop of a provably weaponized DOJ commanded by Attorney General Eric Holder, who has specifically and intentionally targeted reporters, there is more than enough evidence to support the Attkisson forensic team who have identified government agencies as the source of the illegal tapping. The discovery phase of a lawsuit is the only actionable redress to gain sunlight.
(VIA FOX NEWS) Former CBS News correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has sued the Justice Department over the hacking of her computers, officially accusing the Obama administration of illegal surveillance while she was reporting on administration scandals.

That’s Merica’, god bless….
ATLANTA – After a month of threats from hackers that nearly derailed its release and almost brought Sony Pictures to its knees, the long-awaiting opening of The Interview on Christmas Day became a major event with packed crowds flocking to not only see the movie but also champion freedom of expression.
Sold out crowds turned out around the country, helping the movie earn a staggering $1million on opening day, and making it now on track to earn $4million this holiday weekend.
And for some theatergoers seeing the film became a very patriotic moment, like the crowd at The Plaza Theater in Atlanta, Georgia who got to their feet to sing God Bless America before the picture started.
The 1942 rendition of the classic song as performed by Kate Smith will be played before each screening at that theater.
‘This is way more fun than it would have been,’ said Jim Kelley of Atlanta, who waited outside with his daughter, Shannon. The elder Kelley added, with mocking sarcasm, ‘This is almost dangerous, like we’re living life on the edge.’ (read more)
