(Via HuffPo) This year marks the whitest Oscars since 1998, with all 20 acting nominations given to white folks. Equally awesome: Zero female directors, screenwriters, or cinematographers were nominated, and according to Women’s Media Center, among the 184 nominees across 19 non-acting categories, only 35 are women.

And so the Academy Award goes to… white dudes. This stark imbalance in both racial and gender diversity in Hollywood is manifested visually on the posters that represent the biggest films of the year. More often than not, white men are selected as the representatives for the movies they star in, even when they have equally signifigant female costars. (read more)

Annoying does not seem to adequately identify the frustration projected toward the U.S. media anymore. “Willfully Blind” seemingly seems entirely more appropriate.

Back in 2011 when Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice, Samantha Power and eventually President Obama, engaged in a decision to strike militarily against Gaddaffi in support of Libyan opposition forces (later determined to be al-Qaeda), Jeh Johnson was part of President Obama’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) as Johnson represented the chief legal counsel to the Pentagon.

A little known fact about that controversial time is that Jeh Johnson, the legal counsel, told President Obama his military action was illegal. Yes, Jeh Johnson as part of the OLC told Obama the executive office lacked legal authority to strike militarily against Libya because the Libyan uprising posed no direct threat to the United States, and President Obama had not requested congressional authority.

This was in June of 2011, this was even reported in the NEW YORK TIMES:

WASHINGTON — President Obama rejected the views of top lawyers at the Pentagon and the Justice Department when he decided that he had the legal authority to continue American military participation in the air war in Libya without Congressional authorization, according to officials familiar with internal administration deliberations.

Typical Democrat. Buried deep inside a Politico article -outlining a possibility of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz running for a Senate seat- you find the following paragraph’s. Emphasis mine:

POLITICO […] Throughout her time as chair, Wasserman Schultz has turned off colleagues, other top Democrats and current and former staff for a management style that strikes many as self-centered — even for a politician — and often at the expense of the DNC or individual candidates or campaigns. Many top Democrats, including some she counts as supporters and friends, privately complain about her trying to use the DNC as a vehicle for her own personal promotion, and letting her own ambition get in the way of larger goals.

Wasserman Schultz has a different sense of herself. According to people who spoke with her, when she sensed Obama was considering replacing her as chair in 2013, she began to line up supporters to suggest the move was both anti-woman and anti-Semitic. Under fire last fall for her leadership, she took Obama’s decision not to remove her then as evidence of renewed strength and said she was confident no one could get her out of the DNC before her term is over at the beginning of 2017, according to sources who’ve spoken with her. Hollywood (United States) (AFP) – African-American civil rights groups plan to protest outside Sunday’s Oscars show, where every single one of this year’s 20 acting nominees is white.
However small, the demonstration will revive debate about diversity at the Oscars-awarding Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, whose voting members are overwhelmingly white and with an average age in their 60s.
“The goal of the protest is to send a message to the Academy, send a message to Hollywood, send a message to the film industry,” said Earl Ofari Hutchinson, head of the LA Urban Policy Roundtable group. (more…)

The group “Lost Voices” gave their rights and video footage to a production company who were making a documentary.  The executive producer, Todd Walton, just screwed them out of any input or benefit, and took their name off the movie.  They have a sad. 
(Via Riverfront Times) Lost Voices: A Ferguson Story was supposed to be a narrative documentary about the struggle for justice and equality after the shooting death of Michael Brown.

In exchange for exclusive access to Lost Voices — a devoted and notoriously insular group of teens and twentysomethings who camped out in Ferguson during last year’s unrest — Chicago filmmaker Lonnie Edwards would dedicate his film to their cause.
It would be a tool to raise consciousness for the demonstrators fighting against police brutality and racial discrimination in St. Louis and the country. Lost Voices would tour the country with Edwards’ film, sharing their stories from the frontlines while engaging with people who watched the tumult unfurl on live streams and national news broadcasts.

Last night Bill O’Reilly fired back:

The Associate Press is revealing a very concerned White House fearful of Benjamin Netanyahu telling the U.S. and global audience about the risk from Iran gaining nuclear weapons.
Apparently, as we have previously outlined, the White House is essentially resigned to, or comfortable with, the outcome of Iran advancing their nuclear ambitions. As a direct consequence the political advisors fear the world seeing such an outcome as a defeat for President Obama. The White House needs control now more than ever, because they need to sell the U.S. audience on the premise that a nuclear Iran is not a defeat.
Ergo, the White House Team is engaging in strategy sessions to isolate, ridicule and marginalize Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

Washington DC (AP) — In what is becoming an increasingly nasty grudge match, the White House is mulling ways to undercut Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming trip to Washington and blunt his message that a potential nuclear deal with Iran is bad for Israel and the world. (more…)

They have finally identified the enemy, and the enemy is us !

CNN is broadcasting a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report which outlines what the Obama administration considers a threat to the United States.  CNN outlines the report and claims the threats are:

[…]”from sovereign citizen groups as equal to — and in some cases greater than — the threat from foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS”.  (link)

Yes, “greater than” the threat posed by ISIS.

Obviously, beyond the insufferable substance of the report, the timing of the report highlights a divisionary tactic by the Obama administration to deflect attention away from their own unwillingness to identify, let alone confront, the threat of Islamic Terror spreading globally.
Apparently it is far more in line with the current administration to consider disgruntled U.S. citizens as a more significant threat to the advancement of the current White House agenda. (more…)

The one constant in an ever changing universe continues to be that anyone in governmental leadership, who is insufferably horrible at their job, will always get promoted.
Today the White House announces that top State Department spokesperson, Jen Psaki, has been promoted to top communications job in the White House.   Hashtag diplomacy comes to the White House.

However, simultaneously it is also reported that Marie Harf will not take Psaki’s job. Apparently, Harf failed her test run miserably this past weekend when she was on tour promoting the “Jobs for Jihadi’s” program talking points.
What was supposed to be an opportunity for Harf to show how she could handle the job of selling Secretary of State John Kerry’s grand paradigm shift, instead ended up creating a week of ridicule for Kerry and his boss, President Obama. (more…)

Joy-Ann Reid used the George Zimmerman trial to advance her personal brand of hate and achieve a show on MSNBC.  Mrs. Reid is friends with some of the most well known media racists, and promotes a divisive and toxic brand of race-based journalism in line with the “#F**k The Police” movement.

Today Mediaite is reporting her show, “The Reid Report”, has been cancelled by MSNBC due to terrible ratings. Go figure:

Mediaite […]According to two internal sources, MSNBC has canceled The Reid Report. The daytime show, airing weekdays at 2 p.m. ET and hosted by Joy Reid, has long been rumored to be on the chopping block.
Our sources at the network say Reid was informed of her show’s cancellation on Thursday. It is unclear when the show will go off-air.
