Important Note – Clear Your Cookies and Browser Cache Frequently…

A rather long and complex issue has surfaced that CTH has specific knowledge of.
patriotIt’s a bigger issue than appears on the surface.  However, to avoid a lengthy distraction -which will consume unnecessary energy- the short version is:

Until the election is over, if you travel the internet into news sites, political sites, and content containing political discussion therein, clear your browser and cache frequently throughout the day.

SHORT SUMMARY:  We have become aware there is a specific, intentional and ongoing “malvertising” effort.  That is, hidden and targeted malware embedded within political advertising (by Team Clinton) that is intended to disrupt targeted users based on their web browsing history.

Reminder: Guidelines For Comments/Participation at CTH

“Seek first to understand, then to be understood”.

patriot1.) First, please READ THIS ENTIRE THREAD – and the full context of any discussion thread you wish to participate in. Skipping to the comments to express an opinion without reading the content of the discussion is not helpful.

Often, unfortunately very often, we find many of the points injected into comments are already outlined in the construct of the thread itself.  -or- Questions asked while the answers are in the primary post.

2.) STAY ON TOPIC – please do not post something unrelated to the specific matter and content of the thread subject. There is a ALWAYS a daily open thread available for any subject you feel should get attention.  Never place unrelated, “O/T”, or “Off Topic” comments on a thread unrelated to the topic.   It is not ok to say: “sorry, O/T but”… or any iteration therein.

Chipotle Shuts Down Restaurants as E-Coli Outbreak Increases….

The problem with the current outbreak may be the structural flaw within food handling processes of the restaurant chain’s business model.

Good News – Fortunately Shiga-toxin producing E. coli is possible to track through DNA source tracing.  Meaning modern food safety officials actually have the capability to trace the specific DNA strain of E.Coli to the source; *qualifier: so long as the origin is field-based (farm) and not fork-based (poor food handling).

Sign is seen at a Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant in San Francisco, California

Bad News – Unfortunately the structural flaws inherent in behind-line buffet style food presentation are rife with cross-contamination risk.  It would not be surprising to find this outbreak origin is not necessarily from product origination, but rather systemic poor personal hygiene and food safety handling in the retail stores – or a combination therein. Nationwide FTP Disruptions To New Years Eve Celebrations Planned for Many U.S. Cities….

If you are going out, be careful.  Apparently there are numerous locations where FTP riots/protests and events are planned for tonight.  My recommendation would be to stay home and be safe this year.

May Day Protests(Via BizPac) Cops are going to have to watch out for more than drunk drivers New Year’s Eve celebrations around the country promise to be even more raucous – and potentially dangerous — than usual this year, with race-mongering radicals planning mass disruptions to protest what they call routine police abuse of blacks. The group behind the website Stop Mass Incarceration has helpfully put together a listing of planned “actions” nationwide under the heading, “Rock in the New Year with Resistance to Police Murder.” There’s a whole nonsensical bill of particulars about the reasons for protesting, starting with “business as usual in Amerikkka includes wanton police murder of Black people.” (more…)

Just Sayin'… Might Be Nothing…. Or Could Be A Thing That Make Other Things Make Sense…..

Light BulbLast night WH Correspondent Media (several) reported Executive Office “in the dark” when the hatchet attack happened in New York City.  They reported it seemed “strange”, and White House officials were a little “off guard” about questioning. Something seemed quirky.
Then today the prolific dot connector (meaning this guy sniffs “unusual” tremors before anyone else – and he does so with subtlety) Mark Knoller tweeted:

Now this:

[Powerline] A faithful reader who asks us to withhold his name informs us that he has reason to believe the computer network within the Executive Office of the President has been down for close to a week, and staff throughout the various components still lack basic access to their files (though many are now able to access e-mail and the Internet). He advises that EOP staff have been told not to say anything about the situation to anyone. He adds that a major security breach is suspected, but no information has been forthcoming, either to those inside the EOP or to the public. (more)

Could be nothing.  Probably is nothing.  Then again, there’s a chance it’s all connected and the White House communication system has been “compromised”.
Which is to say either: A.) A security breech, or, B.) Some needed Scrubbing because White House email accounts etc. have just been identified as communication sources for illegal activity.  [A dose of “Lois Lerner Malware” is in the works?]

E-Mail Requests

cat1We receive many hundreds of emails each week – a lot of them from peeps who think we will always know why they are forwarding a link and who may also believe we are available to do research for hours – sometimes these are even from peeps we love.
Please don’t assume that we will know why you send a link; even if you think the reason’s obvious, often it is not. Backside maintenance is such that whoever is trying to clear email may not have had a chance to read recent posts so links emailed in with no explanation may or not make sense.

We request, gentle emailer, that you….

  • Include your user name in the subject line in all emails.
  • If you are providing a link, in addition to including your user name, please tell us how the information broadens the discussion of the day or relates to research currently being pursued. In other words, tell us why you are sending the link.
  • If you are asking us to begin research on an entirely new project, in addition to including your user name please provide links that will substantiate the need for additional or fresh research by the Treehouse.
