Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Signs Election Reform Bill

Governor Ron DeSantis appeared on Fox News this morning to highlight the economic success of Florida during the COVID crisis.  As DeSantis notes because the state remained largely open the state did not need to touch its “Rainy Day Fund” to cover emergency expenses; and now the state is fully operational the revenues being generated are allowing the legislature to double the state emergency fund accounts.  All of this despite Florida having no income tax.

Additionally, DeSantis highlighted the growth in the state that allows the legislature to provide $1,000 bonuses to first responders; and introduces a new election reform bill recently passed by the state legislature, which he signed live on television.

Fund The Police – Governor Ron DeSantis Announces $1,000 Bonuses For Police Officers and First Responders

As many local and state governments’ debate the Marxist request to defund the police department, at least one governor goes in the exact opposite direction.  Today Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced:

“I will sign into law $1,000 bonuses for every sworn law enforcement officer, every EMT, every firefighter and every paramedic in the state of Florida”.

Restoration of Our Republic, Southlake Texas Shows the Way – Organized Families Win 2 school board seats, 2 City Council seats and Mayor, Turnout Tripled

Many people have come to the realization the best line of defense against an out of control and corrupt federal government is to drop back to the state and local level, harden the local politics to push-back against federal intervention, and demand local and state officials fight against the dangerous leftist agenda.

Governors like Ron DeSantis in Florida are leading the way with proactive state legislation and direct confrontation against the collectivist leftist effort.  The state confrontation includes state laws against efforts by federal intrusion (COVID mandates, passports, etc) and simultaneously creating state laws that will allow Big Tech (censorship) and the multinational corporations (discrimination) to be sued in state court.  Additionally, following the Tea Party organized model, local pragmatic patriots are also doing their part.

The latest story of effective organization at the local level comes from a group of families in a mid-sized town of Southlake, Texas; a town northwest of Dallas with a population of 31,000.  The school board was about to initiate the indoctrination program of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the region.  The parents said “no more” leftist bullshit, organized an effective political action committee pooled their financial resources, selected candidates and launched a full-frontal assault in the next local election.

The results were stunningly successful as the pragmatic patriots crushed the leftist effort with a turnout three times greater than the previous election, and an overwhelming seventy percent level of voting support for their candidates.  Their opposition barely scraped 30% for their side.  This is how it is done; smile as you read the details below:

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Nine months after officials in the affluent Carroll Independent School District introduced a proposal to combat racial and cultural intolerance in schools, voters delivered a resounding victory Saturday to a slate of school board and City Council candidates who opposed the plan.

Charlie Crist Is Likely to Announce His Candidacy for Florida Governor on Tuesday

Charlie Crist is the mirror image of Nikki Haley (and both wear heels).

The current congresscreep is the former republican governor of Florida, who turned independent because he lost support, who then went fully over to the leftist agenda and became a democrat to run for congress in the Tampa region.  He morphs into whatever he needs to remain in politics.  He’s a weird, effeminate, likely bearded, political creature.

According to news media in/around Tampa, Florida, Charlie Crist is likely to announce a bid to run for governor against incumbent governor Ron DeSantis.

FLORIDA – U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, a one-time Florida governor who for months has publicly mulled another run for the office, is expected to announce his future plans Tuesday.

Crist on Saturday sent out an invitation to supporters for the “special event” next week in St. Petersburg, signaling he has finalized a decision that has been in the works since the late 2020. If he moves forward, Crist would be the first Democrat to officially enter a race for the nomination to take on Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2022. (read more)

Florida House Passes Bill to Permanently Ban COVID Vaccination Passports

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was the first U.S. governor to announce he would oppose and block any attempt to make vaccination passports a requirement for any engagement with state government or private enterprise.  DeSantis then signed an executive order temporarily and proactively blocking any effort to require proof of vaccination.

Today, the Florida House of Representatives passed a bill (SB 2006) to ban the use of COVID vaccination passports.  This bill will now reconcile with a Florida Senate bill that carried the same intent.

Good job Florida!

With a key lawmaker saying he recognizes that vaccine hesitancy is “real and understandable,” the Florida House on Wednesday approved a measure that would limit local emergency orders and make permanent Gov. Ron DeSantis’ executive order barring COVID-19 vaccine “passports.”

The House voted 76-40 to approve the proposal (SB 2006), which Pandemics & Public Emergencies Committee Chairman Tom Leek, R-Ormond Beach, said would prepare Florida for the next public-health emergency while striking a “delicate balance between protecting people and protecting people’s civil liberties.

Weekly Reminder, She’s Running

In the annals of modern political history the one constant in an ever-changing universe is the entrenched tone-deafness of the establishment republican class.  Actually, it is not so much they are tone-deaf, as it is they just don’t care.  The reminder this week is that Nikki Haley intends to run for President in 2024. {Go Deep}

(Via The Hill) Nikki Haley will headline the Iowa Republican Party’s most prominent gathering of the year, a move that’s likely to fuel speculation about a potential 2024 presidential bid.

The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations will head to the first-in-the-nation caucus state in June to host the Iowa GOP’s annual Lincoln Dinner, the party announced on Thursday. The dinner is a major fundraising event for the state party and one with a history of drawing Republican presidential hopefuls. (Read More)

…”“I don’t think [Trump’s] going to be in the picture,” she said, matter-of-factly. “I don’t think he can. He’s fallen so far.” […] “We need to acknowledge he let us down,” she said. “He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”  (link)

I would drive railroad spikes through my kneecaps before I would vote for Nikki Haley, the Mitt Romney of John McCains’.  However, that said, the professional political class don’t give a tinker’s hoot what the base voter wants.  They will pull every trick out of their DeceptiCon hat to help her.  Watch, you’ll see.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Signs Anti-Riot Bill Which Also Includes Civil Immunity For Drivers Who Hit Road-Blocking Protestors

Earlier Monday Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB1, a new bill from the Florida legislature that establishes new criminal definitions under the anti-riot law.  The House and Senate worked on the legislation for a year after Governor Ron DeSantis led the initial effort.

[HB1] “defines a “riot” as a public disturbance involving three or more people “acting with the common intent to assist each other in violent and disorderly conduct” that results in injury to another person, damage to property, or danger of injury or damage.

The law grants civil immunity to people who drive into protesters who are blocking a road, prevents people accused of rioting from bailing out of jail until after their first court appearance, and increases penalties for assaulting law-enforcement officers while engaging in a “riot.”  It also penalizes local governments that interfere with efforts to stop a riot and allows law-enforcement agencies that face funding reductions to file objections.” (link)

The anti-riot law titled “Combating Public Disorder,” creates a new crime of “mob intimidation,” enhance penalties for riot-related looting and violence and create an affirmative defense for individuals who injure or kill violent protesters.  Polk County Sheriff Grady Judge spoke at the signing.
