Update 8pm/EST – Video of shooter being taken into custody HERE – LOUISIANA – A Louisiana State trooper is in serious condition in a hospital after a traffic stop lead to a shooting near Bell City, La.
The shooting happened on Wednesday, and Saint Louis was yet again the scene of retaliatory violence by the community toward police. On cue today CNN is stoking the issue, with their pontifications about an initial autopsy showing the bullet that killed Ball-Bey traveled from back to front, right to left.
Despite the CNN pitch, this does not seem to indicate much of anything. If you were standing 20 feet away from someone and they shot toward you, your natural untrained instinct would be to you to turn your shoulder and slightly duck. If you were simultaneously holding a firearm in your right hand, this type of movement would account for an entry wound to your upper right shoulder (back) traveling toward your left.

Ironically Mansur Ball-Bey did a video (screen grab above) depicting thug life and featuring the exact type of weapon used shortly before his death. His ‘thug life’ social media is HERE
ST. LOUIS • An autopsy on Mansur Ball-Bey, whose death from police gunfire this week stirred protests, showed that he died from a single wound in the back, police officials said.
Chief Sam Dotson said the wound’s location neither proves nor disproves the contention of officers at the scene that Ball-Bey refused to drop a gun and pointed it at them before being shot Wednesday. (more…)

The Baltimore State Attorney, Marilyn Mosby, filed response motions today in advance of next month’s scheduled hearing. She does not want her investigative team questioned about their activity prior to her Direct Action Charges. In essence she is directly trying to avoid sunlight.
When you read the response motions you begin to understand why. Example #1)
[…] In asking Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams to revoke the subpoenas, prosecutors expanded on their responses to past defense allegations, including a claim that prosecutors steered police away from looking into whether Gray had a history of “crash-for-cash” schemes to injure himself in hope of collecting settlements.
Activist Deray McKesson has close ties to the White House. McKesson has also traveled around the U.S. stoking the fires of racial animus in Ferguson, Madison, Baltimore, Charleston, Cincinnatti and McKinney Texas.

Despite video showing Tyrone Harris shooting a handgun in Ferguson, and despite the CCTV video showing Tyrone Harris holding the handgun just prior to the shooting, and despite Alderman Antonio French seeing the shooting, activist Deray McKesson claims Harris, aka “Ty_Da_Shooter”, was not shooting. Follow up to THIS STORY – Confirming the Alabama cop didn’t protect himself against the beating by the suspect because he didn’t want to be the next Darren Wilson.
…”A lot of officers are being too cautious because of what’s going on in the media.” “I hesitated because I didn’t want to be in the media like I am right now.”…
(CNN) A Birmingham, Alabama, police detective who was pistol-whipped unconscious said Friday that he hesitated to use force because he didn’t want to be accused of needlessly killing an unarmed man.
“A lot of officers are being too cautious because of what’s going on in the media,” said the officer, who asked to remain anonymous for the safety of his family. “I hesitated because I didn’t want to be in the media like I am right now.”
Details of last week’s incident in the Birmingham enclave of Roebuck remain sketchy — such as how did the suspect get the officer’s weapon — but the six-year police veteran said he didn’t shoot the man who attacked him during a traffic stop because of the outcry surrounding a spate of police shootings nationally. I never quite understand the position of affording illegal aliens U.S. constitutional rights, when they are illegal to begin with. Seriously, what makes the protection of U.S. constitutional law applicable to an illegal entrant.
CALIFORNIA – A California toddler fighting for her life Thursday after a brutal beating at the hands of an illegal immigrant with a long criminal record is the latest case to rile California sheriffs and police against a U.S. immigration policy they say is forcing them to release dangerous criminals out on the street.
Francisco Javier Chavez, the live-in boyfriend of the unidentified two-year-old’s mother, is out on bail after being charged in the late July attack, which left the San Luis Obispo County girl with two broken arms, a broken femur, a compressed spine, a urinary tract infection and a fever of 107 degrees. Chavez’s criminal record includes assault and drug convictions and arrests for violent acts including kidnapping, car jacking and cruelty to a child. (more…)
Several attorneys for the arrested Waco Bikers have formed a website HERE (good to bookmark). Today, the JOP in McLennan County released the preliminary autopsy reports to include toxicology.
As you read through the reports (provided at the link) you may want to note the number of bullet wounds indicated, and bullets recovered. Then compare that number to the highlighted passage in the paragraph from the media which still holds the official response from law enforcement.
Also, note the ballistics (which will identify who shot whom) is not being released yet by the BAFTE.
WACO, TEXAS Autopsy reports on the nine bikers killed in the May 17 Twin Peaks shootout were released Thursday morning by McLennan County Justice of the Peace W.H. “Pete” Peterson’s office. (more…)
Within the politically expedient reaction in the North Charleston Walter Scott shooting, SLED moved instantaneously to charge Officer Micheal Slager. As we said at the time, the speed of their investigative decision seemed weighted more to avoid a Ferguson-like reaction than a prudent investigative approach.
As we have seen numerous times – within such a quick response, the construct of full investigative inquiry is almost always lost. As a direct consequence – any fallibility within the case then becomes a risk to the previous assertion. To avoid sunlight upon such a risk, the prosecution maneuvers to make follow-up investigation more difficult. [*note the picture contained within the article – look familiar?]
South Carolina – Defense attorneys for a North Charleston police officer have asked state investigators for a chance to inspect clothing that the lawman and Walter Scott were wearing as they fought moments before Scott’s shooting death.
Former officer Michael Slager remains jailed on a murder charge after he fatally shot Scott, 50, in the back on April 4. (more…)
