CANADA – A potential bomb plot on a passenger train over the Niagara River has been averted, a police source says.
While officials have not confirmed the train bombing plan, the RCMP are holding a news conference at 3:30 p.m. Monday to outline details of the arrest of what they say was a planned terror plot.
One police source said there were several scenarios being looked at during the year the suspects were tracked, including the train plot. (more…)
One, perhaps positive, thing that’s coming from the Boston bombing is the ideology of the Prog-Left being dragged out into the spotlight. Cue Secretary of State John “ketchup boy” Kerry – who compares the victims from the Boston terror attack to the militant islamists killed aboard the Gaza blockade ship Mavi Marmara in 2010.

(via GWP) Nine people were killed aboard the Gaza-bound Mavi Marmara after IDF troops encountered violent resistance by “peace activists” when they boarded the ship. The so-called “peace activists” were armed with an assortment of weapons. They threw stun grenades and beat the Israeli soldiers with pipes and chains. The ship failed to comply to Israeli commands before it was boarded. The terrorists planned the surprise attack on the Israeli troops in advance.

BOSTON – Law enforcement sources tell ABC News that the Boston Marathon bombings suspect is awake and has been responding sporadically in writing to questions.
Officials say they have been asking about other cell members and other unexploded bombs. Details on any answers given have not been released.
A senior law enforcement official also told ABC News that FBI negotiators tried for roughly 20 to 25 minutes to convince suspect number two, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, to give himself up. Officials say there was a verbal exchange between them and the suspect, and then the 19-year-old eventually fell out of the boat. (more…)

Brokaw represents Modern-Progressive Perspective. This is how the current Democrat Party followers actually think and believe. Don’t make excuses for them, or try to rationalize what they are saying – just accept it. Modern progs hate America, they hate everything about America, they hate freedom and principles of freedom. Everything bad that happens is “our fault”, and nothing is the fault of their ideological followers.
If you doubt this is actually their view, think about what they would be saying if the Boston Bomber was a Tea Party member. New York Post – Somewhere near Boston early Monday morning, he packed a bomb in a bag. It was by all accounts relatively crude — a pressure cooker, explosives, some wires, ball bearings and nails . . . nails which, hours later, doctors would struggle to remove from the flesh of bleeding victims.
His motive is unclear. His intent is not: It was to maximize injury, suffering, pain, trauma and, yes, death.
Perhaps Monday’s bomber will be caught, perhaps not.

It is perhaps serendipity the name Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi surfaced during the investigation of the Boston Bombing, “perhaps“. A name the administration would just as soon be forgotten.
Indeed if you rely on the water-carrying media to follow the story it’s probably the last time anyone will ever discuss the Saudi national, college student, and his powerful family connections. But some within the new media, in addition to Glenn Beck, are staying on the story.
Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi was injured and hospitalized during the bombing. Subsequently two high level meetings with his family’s interested representatives were conducted by both Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama himself. Michelle Obama even went to the hospital where Ali Al Harbi was being cared for and paid him a personal visit.

After receiving hundreds of pages from the first round of FOIA requests from Miami-Dade, we have a better understanding of the issues which led to the suspension and later removal of Miami-Dade School Police Chief Hurley. We also better understand why the historical activities of Trayvon Martin have been difficult to locate.
The first part of the publicly requested document release shows aspects surrounding an Internal Affairs investigation following the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Within the investigation dozens of witnesses gave sworn statements to investigative officers.
Included in the witness affidavits were six officers accused of leaking information to the media, and their statements reveal a systemic attempt by Chief Hurley to cover-up the instructions by Hurley to his officers.
From their statements, made under oath, it is apparent that sometime around 2009/2010 the police chief gave instructions for his officers to find alternate methods outside of the criminal justice system to confront the behavioral issues of school students.
As officer Tagle affirms, and other witnesses corroborate, the instructions were specifically targeted to young black males within the Miami-Dade Public School system. Targeted to keep their unlawful behavior away from engagement with the correction system and aimed to use school discipline instead of criminal corrections within the justice system. (more…)
MARK STEYN – On Rush Limbaugh’s Friday program, fill-in host Mark Steyn reminded listeners of Limbaugh’s Tuesday comments predicting the media would “circle the wagons” for Islam if it turned out that the suspects in Monday’s Boston Marathon bombing Muslims, saying that the prediction will come true.
As it turned out, the suspects Tamerlan Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were indeed Muslims, and Steyn, author of “After America: Get Ready for Armageddon,” said the media wagon-circling would begin “any moment now.” (more…)
BOSTON – Shortly before authorities arrested Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in Watertown Friday night, the FBI took into custody three others in connection to their investigation.
Two women and one man, both of whom appeared to be college-aged, were apprehended for questioning from the Hidden Brook Apartments on Carriage Drive in New Bedford, several news outlets reported.
The FBI has not released the names of those in custody. (more…)
