Remember, Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is first up; closely coordinating with House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte; closely coordinating with Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley; and all of them coordinating with the DOJ Office of Inspector General Michael Horowitz.  This is a long developed plan.
In order to carry out the entire reform operation, communication is made through public letters. Sunlight is part of the strategy.  Questioning each other publicly and answering each other publicly is part of the strategy… the media is not used to this. Deception needs whispers. Within all of the discoveries around the DOJ/FBI “Trump Operation” we are often questioned why former CIA Director John Brennan is not a specific focus.

The reason is quite simple…
Unlike some of the other conspirators, John Brennan recognized much earlier it would be in his best interests to have an exit plan to get him away from the inherent legal ramifications of the DOJ/FBI operation. Brennan was simply smarter about covering his tracks.
Early in our research we pointed this out – May of 2017.
Keep in mind, all of the referenced positions and statements come from a position where the larger intelligence leadership needed cover when it became obvious both the pre-election and post-election strategies against Donald Trump would not succeed.
ODNI Clapper, CIA Director Brennan, FBI Director Comey were foiled by NSA Director Mike Rogers telling president-elect Trump about the 2016 FBI/DOJ spy and surveillance operation on November 17th, 2016.
On May 23rd, 2017 former CIA Director John Brennan testified to congress on the Trump-Russia counter-intelligence operation which began in July 2016.  Within Brennan’s testimony he contradicted the testimony of FBI Director James Comey (March 20th, 2017) and created his own exit plan.  That Brennan exit-plan still holds value through today.

The Daily Caller journalist Chuck Ross has some extremely interesting information released today surrounding former top FBI Counterintelligence Agent Peter Strzok and DOJ/FBI liaison attorney Lisa Page which includes a disclosure by top FBI officials that text messages between Strzok and Page have gone missing.
Peter Strzok was the head FBI Agent in charge of the ‘Clinton Operation’ (exoneration), and ‘Trump Operation’ (political surveillance).  Strzok reported to the FBI Director of Counterintelligence, Bill Priestap.  Lisa Page was the DOJ attorney assigned to the FBI and key legal aide for FBI Asst. Director Andrew “Andy” McCabe.

According to information relayed to Senator Ron Johnson, the period of time the FBI has “lost” is from December 14th, 2016 to May 17th, 2017, the exact day that Special Counsel Robert Mueller was assigned to lead the Russia collusion probe.
As CTH has previously outlined the same “small group” inside the DOJ and FBI, during the 2015/2016 operation to assist Hillary Clinton and conduct political surveillance upon candidate Donald Trump, were transferred to the Mueller probe by Chief FBI Legal Counsel James Baker.  FBI Director Christopher Wray relieved James Baker of all duties last month.
The attempts by the former high level FBI officials to avoid transparency by “losing” the text messages is a clear sign of consciousness of guilt; and points to the efforts they undertook in 2017 to cover their tracks.

According to Representative Dave Joyce (R-OH14) the House Intelligence Committee will hold a vote on the release of the four-page Nunes memo that reveals systemic corruption within the DOJ and FBI; including the unlawful use of FISA-702(16)(17) data searches which were part of an elaborate DOJ-FBI surveillance program on the political campaign of Donald Trump.

Additionally, Chad Pergram reported that Chairman Devin Nunes met with Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte to discuss the best process to release the memo.   There are generally two ways it could be done, the HPSCI vote is the most likely.
As more people have become aware of the back-story to the campaign surveillance, FISA-702 issue, and the unlawful conduct of the FBI and DOJ, there is also a great deal of misinformation.  Few people have followed the entire story as it unfolded and that has led to large numbers of people mistakenly thinking the process for revealing the classified intelligence -at the heart of the issue- can be easily released.
There are also multiple media voices taking advantage of people with limited understanding of the year-long process.  Glenn Greenwald published an article today claiming there were “Four Easy Ways” the Nunes memo could be revealed.  That article by Greenwald is intentional disinformation targeted to cloud the larger issues and create chaos.  A deconstruction of Greenwald’s ridiculous arguments is HERE.
It is essential the process is followed that allows the larger story to come out without providing the use of political cover by those who are intent on hiding the corruption.

President Trump announced that he has reauthorized FISA-702 with changes in the law provided by Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.  President Trump notes: “This is not the same FISA law that was so wrongly abused during the election”.

House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes today issued the following statement after President Trump signed into law the FISA Amendments Reauthorization Act:

“This bill reauthorizes a crucial anti-terrorism tool—with increased privacy protections—that helps track foreign terrorists and thwart attacks on Americans. Additionally, the President had already ordered a fix to problems in unmasking procedures, which should give Americans confidence that the Intelligence Community will use this authority to defend Americans’ safety and security while fully respecting their privacy rights.”  (LINK)

The House Intelligence Committee, chaired by Representative Devin Nunes, released the 165 page transcript of Fusion-GPS founder Glenn Simpson’s November testimony to the committee [Full Pdf Below].
Glenn Simpson (Fusion GPS) was hired by the Clinton campaign to conduct opposition research against candidate Donald Trump. Simpson then contracted with Nellie Ohr to facilitate the project. Nellie Ohr is the spouse of a DOJ Deputy Attorney, Bruce Ohr, who was demoted for having secret meetings with Glenn Simpson and Fusion GPS.

Exhaustive research, and forthcoming evidence collected by various congressional committees, is highlighting a 2016 scheme where FBI and DOJ officials aligned with Hillary Clinton conducted a wide-scale surveillance effort against the Trump campaign partly by using unauthorized FISA-702 “search queries”.  The National Security Division within the DOJ and Counterintelligence units within FBI were weaponized against the campaign of Donald Trump.
Nellie Ohr, working for Simpson, received and coordinated the distribution of material gained by unlawful DOJ/FBI surveillance upon the campaign officials of Donald Trump. The intelligence distribution included sharing unlawful FISA-702 search results with a retired British MI6 Agent and head of U.K’s Russia House, Christopher Steele.

Dear Mr. Nunes, we get it.. we really do get it. We understand why; but don’t listen to those voices. Please stop underestimating the intellectual capacity of the average American to understand how the FISA-702 intelligence surveillance system was corrupted, and yet remain cognizant that much of the system is vital and necessary.

Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. Intelligence doesn’t weaponize itself; people weaponize intelligence.

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) has delayed the testimony of DOJ Deputy Bruce Ohr, likely reflecting a desperate need to keep the unlawful use of FISA-702 surveillance in 2015/2016 under wraps until FISA can be reauthorized.
The Senate FISA-702 re-authorization went through a wave flux and concern today after it appeared to fall short of the necessary votes in the Senate. FISA-702 supporters barely made it through the cloture vote.

There is an interesting dynamic unfolding with White Hats and Black Hats amid the story of how political forces within the DOJ and FBI conspired with Clinton allies in the 2016 presidential election, ie. “The Trump Operation”. [Hi Glenn, Jim, Andy]
Back-story – There are two central components:
♦First, corruption within the DOJ and FBI that included their use of unlawful use of FISA-702 exploits; and ♦second, how that intelligence information was extracted, passed along to those outside government, repackaged, and reconstituted into the “Steele Dossier”.  The finished, albeit sketchy, intelligence was later returned to the FBI to request lawful FISA court surveillance authority.  It is a circle of “intelligence laundering”.
We know the DOJ (National Security Division), and FBI (Counterintelligence Division), worked together on the enterprise.  This collaboration is where the insider “small group” participants assemble, intersect and ultimately redistribute themselves into the Mueller investigation with the help of Mueller’s adviser, FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker.

DOJ side: Asst. Attorney General Sally Yates, Asst. AG Head of National Security Division John P Carlin; Deputy Attorney Bruce Ohr; and legal liaison between Main Justice and FBI, Attorney Lisa Page.

Outsiders (The Dossier Crew):

Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson; the wife of Simpson, Mary B. Jacoby; a hired private contractor, familiar with CIA operations, Nellie Ohr (also wife of DOJ team insider Bruce Ohr); contracted former British MI6 Agent and head of Russia House, Christopher Steele (also attributed authorship of ‘Dossier’).

♦The basic enterprise seems pretty straightforward albeit corrupt as hell.  During a period of November 2015 through April 18th 2016, Justice Department political insiders and outside political contractors, including Fusion-GPS, accessed the NSA and FBI database using FISA-702(17) “About Queries”. They gathered information on candidate Hillary Clinton’s political opposition including Donald Trump campaign officials and affiliates.
This was essentially deep state political opposition research being conducted inside government for a considerable period of time. The information, gathered on Clinton’s  political opposition, was then weaponized against the candidacy of Donald Trump.
