And of course, as customary, Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will acquiesce and say there’s no way to defeat the Democrat maneuverings.
WASHINGTON – Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., will try to prevent the Senate from voting on President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Reid said that Democrats would attempt to use the filibuster to prevent the Senate from holding even a symbolic vote on the issue, which would likely result in an embarrassing outcome for Democrats. “I recently informed Senator McConnell that after a period of robust debate, Democrats would be happy to proceed straight to a final passage vote,” Reid said in the statement, suggesting “robust debate” was a coy way of saying that the debate will not end unless Republicans can muster 60 votes to do so. In the unlikely event you can’t hear the sound of the Rhinoceros marching on bubble wrap directly behind you, it might be worth while getting a firmer grip on both your ankles:
[…] “The Senate Democrats have a big enough number to prevent us from doing things. They prevented us from doing any of the bills that appropriate money for the government, thereby forcing a negotiation when we go back in after Labor Day, which I’ll be engaged in with the administration and others to try to sort out how much we’re going to spend and where we’re going to spend it.” ~ Mitch McConnell

Yes, that’s Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, giving a preview of his “budget plan strategy”.
If you find yourself pausing, well, prior to having the jackbooted foot of a $4 trillion spending proposal rammed into your psyche, and asking yourself why the “Senate” leader and not the House Leader is making such proclamations – you might still be stuck in the old School-House-Rock paradigm of thinking that budgety stuff is actually constructed in the House of Representatives. The Mitch McConnell legislative agenda was written for him prior to taking his position as Senate Majority Leader. The author of the agenda was a group of Wall Street financiers who organize under the construct of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Tom Donohue as CoC President.

Donohue then spends millions through K-Street lobbyists to insure his legislative priorities are maintained. In the run-up to the 2014 mid-terms Donohue was very specific on what his demands were of the GOPe team, Boehner and McConnell:
♦ Comprehensive Immigration Reform – to include Amnesty for illegal aliens. (link)
♦ Support for full delivery of Federal Common CORE education standards (link)
♦ The full implementation of ObamaCare without adjustment. (link)
♦ Trans Pacific Trade Deal (link) (Currently in negotiations)
So it should come as no surprise to see the hand-out given to the Republican senators by John Thune would specifically call for the GOP to frame the CoC position on these issues in the August recess ‘Town Hall’ meetings. (more…)
Anyone who is viewing the battle between Donald Trump and Megyn Kelly as a representative battle of thin-skinned ego is entirely missing the point.
Trump is not just taking on the construct of progressive ideology that has undermined the essence of American exceptionalism, he’s taking on the very selfish foundation they’ve used to sell out our country. Hell, he’s taking on all the “Decepticons” simultaneously.
In many ways Fox’s Roger Ailes and Republican Mitch McConnell carry the same ideological character trait, deception. For McConnell his deceptive ways allow him to retain power inside the DC construct. For Roger Ailes manipulation benefits his media dominance and political interests. Neither McConnell nor Ailes can actually be trusted.
It all boils down to a very familiar problem. Would you rather rid yourself of the schemer, manipulator and deceiver who claims to be your friend – and as a consequence face a visible enemy in their stead. Or do you chose to be associated within the camp of a person you can never fully trust. (more…)
Here we go again. It’s that time of year when we get to see media elevated President Obama smack around the best the GOP can offer. Mr. Mumbles and Sir Cry-a-Lot, again to be out maneuvered, out strategized and publicly ridiculed.
WASHINGTON – […] Obama also called upon lawmakers to craft a budget plan when they return. There are only a few legislative days left for them to do so – or the government could come to a screeching halt, as it did in 2014.
“Congress also hasn’t passed a budget,” Obama said. “They’ve had all year to do this.”
I’ve prompted the video to the budget part so you don’t have to suffer through the lead in:
The last time a federal budget was passed into law was September of 2007 for fiscal year 2008 and it was signed by President Bush. President Obama has not had a single day in office with a federal budget, EVER. (more…)
Multiple layers of deceit, deception and manipulation lay within this story. In addition, the fundamental principles of the Decepticons in the Senate surface with increased clarity.
The underlying issue is the Federal Surface Transportation Program commonly called “the Highway Bill”. The Highway Bill is technically supposed to be a legislative tool to set priorities for the expenditure of tax revenue coming from federal gasoline taxes; roads, bridges, transportation systems – building and repairing as such.
However, as with all ‘revenue spending bills’, you find a bastardized special-interest process where more legislatures want spending on “their pet projects” than is available from the revenue raised within the tax collection. Ergo immediately you can see the ingredients for corruption or what DC calls “sausage-making”.
Backroom deals, bribes, quid-pro-quo, lobbying schemes, booze – sex – blackmail and leverage, yep, back rubbing DC at it’s more traditional level. Ultimately ending in more spending embedded in the authorizations than revenue raised by the taxes. Yes, more, even more, deficit spending. (more…)
Great interview with Ann Coulter and Larry Elder. While the primary topic is immigration and all of the ramifications from illegal aliens and legal aliens, much of the conversation is also discussing presidential politics.
Ann Coulter’s pick is @25:50
*In an affirmation moment, Ann Coulter also talks about CPAC being entirely owned/operated by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce now.
The Washington Post Makes The Case For Donald Trump’s Presidency…
They don’t mean to; quite the contrary, they publish an article intended to diminish Donald Trump – with an outline of how some of the contracted construction workers at the Washington DC “Post Office Hotel” are illegal alien workers.

However, this is exactly why there is a benefit to Donald Trump as an irregular candidate. Trump is actually a “Main Street” businessman, not a “Wall Street” financier.
Trump’s business interests, and ultimately most of his net wealth, is actually physical in nature. Hotels, resorts, golf courses, brands etc. are all real commodities with actual valuation based on their individual business model returns.
The various Trump assets employ Human Resource departments, managers, hiring offices, and down-the-line workers who do the physical work. This “main street” traditional business model is fundamentally different from the customary “business candidate”, who, as Mitt Romney personified, comes more from a “Wall Street” financial industry background based on mergers, acquisitions and other movements of capital (money) without specific attachment to physical asset.
Trump’s businesses are traditional businesses, in short Main Street; and that makes him a non-traditional modern-era political candidate. The political machine, and the Washington Post are not used to having to report about a main-street owner/operator and therefore don’t know the distinction inherent in their attacks. (more…)
Don’t forget, we have Senator Orrin Hatch because Representative Jason Chaffetz took Tom Donohue’s 2011 Chamber of Commerce bribery money and agreed not to challenge Hatch in Utah’s 2012 primary (state delegate convention, not election). In addition to significant amounts of cash, Chaffetz was also promised establishment perks, a House GOP leadership position, and key chairmanship in exchange for his collaboration.
All these historical Decepticon (establishment Republican) maneuvers are achieving their intended goals. It’s very frustrating to watch play out against the backdrop of us being called wing-nuts by other “conservatives” for the past 8 years, for predicting it.. Nuts !
WASHINGTON DC – Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on Thursday praised Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts as a “remarkable” and “tremendous” jurist who wrote a “clever” opinion upholding a key provision of ObamaCare.
“All I can say is that the chief justice is a remarkable judge. He’s a tremendous human being. I have a tremendous confidence in him and I believe in him. I differ with him on this opinion,” Hatch said from the Senate floor. “On the other hand, it is a very clever opinion, and I have to say only a clever judge could have written it as well.”
Roberts authored the 6-3 decision handed down earlier Thursday that upheld federal healthcare insurance subsides under the Affordable Care Act. The ruling is a major victory for the Obama administration. (more…)
(Via The Hill) The Senate voted Wednesday to approve fast-track authority, securing a big second-term legislative win for President Obama after a months-long struggle.
The 60-38 Senate vote capped weeks of fighting over the trade bill, which pitted Obama against most of his party — including Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
[…] Fast-track, or trade promotion authority (TPA), will allow the White House to send trade deals to Congress for up-or-down votes. The Senate will not be able to filibuster them, and lawmakers will not have the power to amend them.
The expedited process, which lasts until 2018 and can be extended until 2021, greatly increases Obama’s chances of concluding negotiations on the TPP, which is a key goal of the president’s. (more…)
