(Via Fox News) Nigeria’s defense chief is claiming that the country’s military has located nearly 300 schoolgirls abducted by Islamic extremists but cannot go in with force to free them.

Air Marshal Alex Badeh told demonstrators supporting the country’s much criticized military on Monday that Nigerian troops can save the girls, according to The Associated Press. But he added, “we can’t go and kill our girls in the name of trying to get them back.” (more…)

I’m going to outline the soup to nuts case of an Iran-Contra type weapons program that ultimately is at the heart of why President Obama and Secretary Clinton went to such lengths to cover-up the Benghazi operations. [context matters – sorry about the length.  /SD]

In December 2011 the New York Times published an article outlining the U.S. State Department initiative to buy shoulder fired missiles (MANPADS) away from the “rebels” in Libya.   (Story Here)

In February 2012 the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro said:

“Once the stalemate broke [in Libya] and the fighting rapidly shifted in the [Libya’s Transitional National Council] TNC’s favor in August, we immediately deployed a State Department expert from the MANPADS Task Force to Benghazi.

Mark Adams, who you will hear from shortly on the panel, is the head of our MANPADS Task Force and spent considerable time on the ground in Libya … The initial primary objective was to reach an agreement with the TNC to set up a MANPADS control and destruction program that would enable us to set up what we call our Phase I efforts. Phase I entailed an effort to rapidly survey, secure, and disable loose MANPADS across the country. To accomplish this, we immediately deployed our Quick Reaction Force, which are teams made up of civilian technical specialists”.   (link)

Ultimately, The question for the Gowdy Special Committee is what were we doing with those missiles we were purchasing?   Where did they go ?   Was that operation the entire construct of the joint State Dept/CIA objective in Benghazi?…  And if so, was the missile capture an Iran-Contra type weapons scheme to divert missiles from Libya, through Turkey, into the hands of the Syrian “rebels”.

Another week, another series of embarrassing setbacks, and nothingness.

Last week the company responsible for outlining the search area for the missing Malaysian airline MH-370, Inmarsat, claimed the satellite data which they used to construct the flight path was lost.   Consequently, no peer review or outside independent analysis could be afforded.   Incredulous as this sounds the only motivation for such a lost data claim can only be to avoid embarrassment and limit the Inmarsat exposure in that regard.

This week, experts deconstructed the frequency of the “ping signals” reported to be from the missing black boxes and detected by search efforts off the coast of Australia.   In essence the frequency of the signals could just as easily have been from electronic net locators often used by commercial fishing enterprises and factory ships at sea.

Outside independent scientists again stymied in their requests to review the underwater ping data which is responsible for 17 ships and 23 aircraft from eight countries deploying 1416 sonobuoys costing $1018 each and totaling $1.4 million, ultimately to no avail.

What is now known are the frequencies detected by the Towed Ping Locator could have been from a myriad of possibilities, and the absence of locating the wreckage in the area of detection targets the highest likelihood the signals were never from the “black boxes”. (more…)

(Via ABC)  A still-classified State Department e-mail says that one of the first responses from the White House to the Benghazi attack was to contact YouTube to warn of the “ramifications” of allowing the posting of an anti-Islamic video, according to Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The memo suggests that even as the attack was still underway — and before the CIA began the process of compiling talking points on its analysis of what happened — the White House believed it was in retaliation for a controversial video.

The subject line of the e-mail, which was sent at 9:11 p.m. Eastern Time on the night of the attack, is “Update on Response to actions – Libya.” The e-mail was written hours before the attack was over.

Issa has asked the White House to declassify and release the document. In the meantime he has inserted a sentence from the e-mail in the Congressional Record.

The White House legal advisor who framed the administrations legal references for drone killing of American citizens is due to be confirmed without allowing his drone memos to be reviewed prior to confirmation vote.  Yeah, we have a problem with that…. 

WASHINGTON DC – Bolstered by the promised public release of a secret legal memo, Senate Democrats are ready to approve a top federal judgeship for a former Obama administration official who helped formulate the justification for the drone killings of suspected American terrorists overseas.

The Senate was expected Thursday to approve David Barron to join the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is based in Boston.

Barron cleared a pivotal hurdle Wednesday when senators voted 52-43 to end opponents’ efforts to derail the nomination. In that roll call, Barron was opposed by every voting Republican and two Democrats, Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. (more…)

That classified assessment, which has never before been publicly disclosed, was in keeping with the message coming from the White House. President Obama rode to re-election in 2012 partly on the success of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. At rallies and in press conferences, the president and top officials publicly said al Qaeda was on the run.

But some senior U.S. intelligence officials, like Defense Intelligence Agency Director Gen. Michael Flynn, fought hard against that assessment, which amounted to an official pronouncement of the American intelligence community’s collected wisdom. Flynn and his faction won a partial victory, striking the judgment that the terrorist group no longer posed a threat to the homeland. “Flynn and others at the time made it clear they would not go along with that kind of assessment,” one U.S. intelligence officer who worked on the al Qaeda file told The Daily Beast. “It was basically: ‘Over my dead body.’” (more…)

Nigeria – At least 118 people have been killed and dozens wounded in two bomb blasts that caused buildings to collapse in a crowded market area of the Nigerian city of Jos, authorities say.

The massive car bombs on Tuesday, just a few minutes apart, were the latest in a deadly wave of bombings across Nigeria over the past few weeks, raising fears that the extremist group Boko Haram has become powerful enough to expand its terrorist operations far outside its traditional strongholds and into new regions of the country. Remember, this falls on the heels of over 300 killed last week, and 200 killed and/or wounded in a bombing the week just prior to that.

JOS, Nigeria — Two car bombs exploded at a bustling bus terminal and market in Nigeria’s central city of Jos on Tuesday, and police said at least 46 were killed and dozens were wounded.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for the twin car bombs, but they bore the hallmarks of Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group.

The second blast came half an hour after the first, killing some of the rescue workers who had rushed to the scene that was obscured by billows of black smoke.

Dozens of bodies and body parts were covered in grain that had been loaded in the second car bomb, witnesses said. A Terminus Market official said he helped remove 50 casualties, most of them dead. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not allowed to give information to reporters. (more…)

Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the dragon slayer of radical Islam. Unfortunately it’s Russia who has stepped in to assist El-Sisi in the fight against the radicals. Russia, because the United States, under Obama’s direction has supported the now ousted President Morsi.

CAIRO, EGYPT — The Egyptian presidential elections have begun—with wide expectations that former Defense Minister Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will be the winner.

El-Sisi—the most powerful man in Egypt—and maybe in the whole Middle East now—is the man who toppled the Muslim Brotherhood, killed, arrested, displaced their leaders, orphaned their children, widowed their wives, ruined their business, confiscated their money,  and turned their dreams into nightmares.

Anyone who reads the history of the Muslim Brotherhood knows that assassinations were always their favorite way to get rid of their enemies or whomever stood in their way. El-Sisi, who utterly shattered their dreams —which they’ve been working on for eighty long years— delivered the knockout punch.

Recently, El-Sisi revealed during his first televised debate that he survived two assassination attempts, without disclosing details.

It seems that the Assassination of El-Sisi has already become the ultimate goal of the Brotherhood and their militias. Sources reveal that Russian and Egyptian intelligence services have discovered 3 different plans for the assassination of El-Sisi.

The sources point out that the first assassination plot was right after the June 30 revolution, and that this scheme was planned in a German city with the presence of members of the international Muslim Brotherhood organization—and the representatives of three different countries intelligence agencies, who support the Brotherhood.
