A Filipino nurse has been kidnapped and gang-raped in the Libyan capital of Tripoli.
The woman was seized outside her residence on Wednesday and taken to an unknown location, where she was sexually abused by up to six men, the Philippines’ Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose told reporters.
She was released about two hours later and taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident took place only a few days after a Filipino construction worker was beheaded, amid allegations he was killed for not being a Muslim.
Following the latest incident, the Filipino government called for the evacuation of its 13,000 citizens in Libya, which has been rocked by violence in the last few months.
A recent report explains how the Filipino government is now escorting all of its people from Libya: (more…)
TEXAS – The Army read former Afghanistan prisoner of war Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl his rights during his first interview with an investigator on Wednesday.
The Army is investigating the circumstances of Bergdahl’s disappearance from his base in Afghanistan and his subsequent capture by the Taliban in 2009. Some former members of his unit allege that Bergdahl, 28, deserted his post, which could be an offense punishable under the Uniform Military Code of Justice.
The investigating officer, Army Maj. Gen. Kenneth Dahl, questioned Bergdahl for the first time on Wednesday at Fort Sam Houston in Texas, where Bergdahl is currently stationed.
Army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Alayne Conway said the reading of Miranda rights was typical during a military administrative “15-6” investigation, and that Bergdahl was “not charged with anything” and “not under arrest.” (more…)
Over a year ago it became obvious that Secretary of State John Kerry was going to force the world to recognize his value and magnificence. After all, he has a legacy to create and time’s-a-wastin’ if he’s going to get bronze busts of himself mounted around the globe. Remember Kerry the Buttinsky, or the Kerry collapse ?
Here’s the latest evidence of an ego on steroids. The U.S. is NOT invited to attend the talks in Cairo. Fatah el-Sisi has been diplomatic but direct in telling Kerry to stay away. Alas…..
EGYPT – Washington announced on Tuesday that it might join the talks between Israel and the Palestinians brokered by Egypt with the aim of reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
“I think it is possible we participate in those talks (in Cairo),” US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said. “As for who, how or when, we still haven’t decided that,” Psaki added. (more…)
You might well remember in 2011 when Senior Foreign Policy Advisor, Samantha Power, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, Secretary Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama created the Obama Doctrine “Responsibility To Protect” (R2P) as they demanded intervention to defend al-Qaeda “rebels” in Benghazi Libya:

…“To brush aside America’s responsibility as a leader and -more profoundly- our responsibilities to our fellow human beings under such circumstances would have been a betrayal of who we are. Some nations may be able to turn a blind eye to atrocities in other countries. The United States of America is different. And as President, I refused to wait for the images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action.”…

Last night in Washington DC the mandatory Mooch Obama school nutrition standard was set aside as our rulers dined on something a little more, well, exotic:

But don’t worry, in the event the unwashed peasants had any difficulty understanding how the .0000001% live on taxpayer financed opulence, head grifter in charge -Valerie Jarrett- was there to broadcast descriptions of the magnificence to the lesser class:

And before anybody says anything like “they’re tone deaf“, let me assure you the Alinsky clan is NOT. This crew know exactly what they are broadcasting – and that knot you feel is specifically and antagonistically intended to “burn”. Their visceral response to your outward anxiety is laughter. One would think a U.S. reporter would be the first to break ranks and honestly expose the Hamas propaganda. Alas, those days are perhaps gone forever. Into the void steps a reporter for France24 who apparently has had enough.
This French reporter actually shows the launch tubes for Hamas missiles and how they are placed next to his hotel. He then goes one step further and shows a bunker launching set up for Hamas rockets directly located under the protective flag of the U.N.
Indian Television shows how Hamas places rocket launches next to hotels and heavily populated buildings in Gaza.
(The American Interest) In this most recent exchange of hostilities between Hamas and Israel, a number of commentators have noted Hamas’ unusual war tactics. Jeffrey Goldberg asks, “Is Hamas Trying to Get Gazans Killed?” Even Mahmoud Abbas queried, “What are you trying to achieve by sending rockets?” As Bob Schieffer put it with a touch of euphemism: (more…)

(J-Post)The 72-hour cease-fire which began Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. appeared to be holding Tuesday afternoon prompting Israel to send a negotiating team to Cairo for indirect talks with Palestinians factions aimed at reaching a long-term truce.
Israel had previously said that it would wait to see if Hamas honored the cease-fire before dispatching a delegation to take part in the talks that it had thus far avoided.
“The delegates left under an hour ago. I assume they’ve already arrived in Egypt,” an Israeli official told Reuters on Tuesday afternoon.
A flurry of rockets was fired at the South, the Shfela region and areas outside of Jerusalem in the West Bank just prior to the onset of the cease-fire. One rocket hit a house near the Palestinian West Bank town of Bethlehem, police said and residents said. (more…)
SAUDI ARABIA – With the ISIS militant forces inching closer to Baghdad, Saudi Arabia has urged allies Pakistan and Egypt to send in troops to secure its border near Iraq.
Saudi Arabia shares a 500 mile-long border with Iraq and Syria.
“The kingdom is calling in favors from Egypt and Pakistan,” an adviser to the Saudi government told The Times. “No one is certain what ISIS has planned, but it’s clear a group like this will target Mecca if it can. We expect them to run out of steam, but no one is taking any chances.”

The ISIS has a strong control on Iraq’s western borders near Syria and Jordan.
And with the militants taking one town after the other in Iraq, the Southern border with Saudi Arabia could be the next possible target. (more…)
