A write-in candidate winning an election is exceptionally difficult.

PENNSYLVANIA – York is a modest little city in Southern Pennsylvania not too far from Baltimore and right in the heart of Dutch country. It’s not the sort of place where political revolutions are found.
But Republican state Senate nominee Ron Miller may think differently this morning because he just lost a special election to a write-in Tea Party candidate, Scott Wagner.
“With 100 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, write-in votes totaled 10,595, or 47.7 percent, to Miller’s 5,920, or 26.6 percent. Democrat Linda Small of New Freedom nearly edged out Miller with 5,704 votes, for 25.7 percent,” according to the York Dispatch.
Pennsylvania is a place where it can sometimes be difficult to tell the Democrats from the Republicans, at least at the state level. (more…)

Within the insurance industry:  Q1 (Jan-March) cost/expense/enrollment information is collected.  Q2 (April-June) calculations are made to costs (projections) for the following year.  In Q3 (July-Sept) those projections become “premium rates” and are presented to State Insurance regulators for review and notification.   In Q4 (Oct-Dec) the customer (YOU) are notified of the new rate.

What you are seeing now in Q1-2014 are the cost projections, the raw data, being collected and recording an astonishing reality.  And Insurance executives warning that based on current data collection – Q2’s calculations will necessarily skyrocket.

Trying to stop the publicity of this is why Obama DID THIS.  He’s trying to buy time by saying the feds will ramp up payments to insurance carriers – so please don’t tell people their rates are going up.  

WASHINGTON DC – Health industry officials say ObamaCare-related premiums will double in some parts of the country, countering claims recently made by the administration.
The expected rate hikes will be announced in the coming months amid an intense election year, when control of the Senate is up for grabs. The sticker shock would likely bolster the GOP’s prospects in November and hamper ObamaCare insurance enrollment efforts in 2015.
The industry complaints come less than a week after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sought to downplay concerns about rising premiums in the healthcare sector. She told lawmakers rates would increase in 2015 but grow more slowly than in the past. (more…)

(Newsbusters) Lest there be any doubt, Amanda Marcotte really hates pro-lifers.
In a two-part rant posted March 14 and 17 on Raw Story, the morally challenged feminist writer attacked pro-lifers as “consummate liars,” “anti-choice kooks” with “boring,” “half-baked nonsense” and “shit arguments.”
But Marcotte’s hate doesn’t stop at pro-lifers. It extends to the babies they want to protect.

“Either way, what she [the woman] wants trumps the non-existent desires of a mindless pre-person that is so small it can be removed in about two minutes during an outpatient procedure. Your cavities fight harder to stay in place.”

The only thing the aggrieved New York Minorities have to do to get a windfall of money is show that they took the FDNY service exam.  Hizzoner claims it was racist to make firefighter applicants take a written test, since Blacks and Hispanics do not perform as well as whites and Asians on academic tests.   Ergo competency tests present a “disparate impact”.
DeBlasio is taking $98 million of taxpayer funds and redistributing it to blacks and Hispanics as “back pay” for work they never did, for a job they were never qualified for.  While simultaneously announcing that he is creating new positions in the FDNY that will solely exist to ensure that blacks and Hispanics do not have to pass the same intelligence and competency exams as Whites and non-minorities.
NEW YORK  – The de Blasio Administration today announced an agreement to settle the 2007 Vulcan Society’s lawsuit against the City of New York over two civil service exams found to be discriminatory against African American and Hispanic applicants.
The City has agreed to pay approximately $98 million in back pay and benefits to African American and Hispanic firefighter applicants who took two civil service exams in 1999 and 2002, and will implement additional reforms in the FDNY’s recruiting policies in an effort to further diversify the ranks of the organization to make them more representative of the city’s population. By now you might have noticed that Texas Governor Rick Perry endorsed Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell in his re-election bid.   You might have also heard his endorsement was during the Kentucky Lincoln/Reagan Dinner.   But did you hear that McConnells opponent, Matt Bevin, was also present and NOT allowed to speak ?
Such is the state of the Establishment Republicans, the “Decepticons”, fear.   You think the BIG R’s speak for freedom – they don’t.

Back in the summer of 2011 as the 2012 candidates were aligning/positioning for a potential run, a meeting was held in Colorado with the Koch Brothers et al, the Decepticons,  the Big Money Donors and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce folk including Tom Donohue.
Governor Rick Perry was the group’s hand selected man of choice.  His presence was unpublicized and somewhat mysterious.   In his home state there were questioning reports of his whereabouts.   That was 2011.
Fast forward to 2014 and it is any surprise the Decepticons and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce / Tom Donohue would not leverage ‘their man’ to assist their agenda ?   Actually, it shows just how desperate they are to retain power.   They wouldn’t even permit Matt Bevin to speak at the dinner.   THINK ABOUT IT.

The U.S. Big Business Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue is on record with full support for Obamacare and Amnesty (comprehensive immigration reform).   Now he and the likeminded K-Street Lobbyists are presenting a third issue which runs in opposition to the will of the people, Common Core education. 
I fail to see how people like Ann Coulter et al can marginalize the Tea Party and support the likes of Mitch McConnell, when it is an absolute fact the CoC simultaneously supports McConnell and issues which are diametrically opposite to conservative principles.
Why can’t people see through this Big R smokescreen ?   ObamaCare, Amnesty and Common Core education standards are supported by the same people who support the likes of Mitch McConnell.   These are facts.
WASHINGTON DC – Tea party activists have been waging war for months against the Common Core  academic standards. Now, in a coordinated show of muscle, Big Business is  fighting back — and notching wins. (more…)

(Reuters Report) Russian state media said Crimeans voted overwhelmingly to break with Ukraine and join Russia on Sunday, as Kiev accused Moscow of pouring forces into the peninsula and warned separatist leaders “the ground will burn under their feet”.
RIA news agency said 93 percent backed annexation, citing an exit poll released as voting ended at 8 p.m. (1800 GMT). Another Russian agency said turnout was over 80 percent.
Caught in an East-West crisis reminiscent of the Cold War, Kiev said Russia’s build-up of forces in the Black Sea region was in “crude violation” of an international treaty, and announced plans to arm and train 20,000 members of a newly-created National Guard to defend the nation. (link)

WASHINGTON DC – Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Dan Pfeiffer, an advisor to President Obama, wasn’t telling the truth:

“If [Obama] doesn’t get more involved in raising money and making this a choice, as Dan Pfeiffer said, you lose the Senate. And if you lose the Senate, turnout the lights because the party’s over,” said Gibbs on NBC this morning.
NBC host David Gregory asked, “Is the Senate in danger?”
“Definitely,” said Gibbs. “Absolutely.”
