Yesterday in the New York Post – In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.
The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.
And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.
Just two years before the presidential election, the Census Bureau had caught an employee fabricating data that went into the unemployment report, which is one of the most closely watched measures of the economy.
And a knowledgeable source says the deception went beyond that one employee — that it escalated at the time President Obama was seeking reelection in 2012 and continues today (link)
True fiscal conservatives are smart folk. They know how to balance budgets and simultaneously show how the absence of fiscal prudence has consequences. It is a rare skill that can grasp when to hold the line and when to let progressive ideologues taste the outcomes of their fiscal irresponsibility.
Scott Walker is just such a man. And no state governor has been so bitterly attacked by progressives because they know and rightly feared him.
To set up the current example here you must go back to the Obamacare fight in 2010. The federal government structured penalties in the Obamacare law to force States to expand their Medicaid roles. Medicaid is a state run benefit. This fight eventually was decided by the Supreme Court in favor of the states who opposed the heavy handed mandate with the court ruling the Feds could not *punish* states for not taking federal money.
Scott Walker was saying: ‘be careful what you wish/vote for, you just might get it’. But no-one was really paying attention to the intelligence behind the quiet argument. (more…)

When do the grown-ups get to take charge again?

[…] “There is nobody more frustrated with the website than I am,” she said. “We should have done better.”
She told community leaders the public needs to be reminded that the website does not function like Amazon.com, where customers are used to logging on to buy a product “like a Tickle Me Elmo doll” before someone else gets it. In this case, Sebelius said, the service is constant and doesn’t run out. (more…)
Just now, people, mostly on the left, are slowly awakening to the tentacles of Obamacare. Just now, people, mostly on the left, are recognizing their leaders have misled and lied to them. This awakening, recognition and new reality, is what the White House has strategically tried to plan for and coordinate for several years.
The architects began trying to control the scope of the awakening with a political decision to grant a one year tax mandate delay for employers. This was purely, and politically, designed to avoid the blistering sunlight directly as a consequence of tens of thousands of employee layoffs, and millions of dropped policies, headed into an election cycle.
The Jarrett/McDonough/Obama/Reid-Pelosi architectural intent continued with a politically constructed website specifically designed to block sunlight from people seeing their new financial reality – Obamacare costs more. And the objective remains to keep people from recognizing they are going to lose their current healthcare plan and soon their doctor(s).
(VIA CNN) Senate Democrats voted unanimously three years ago to support the Obamacare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters that are going out.
In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it.
“The District of Columbia is an island surrounded by reality. Only in the District of Columbia could you get away with telling the people if you like what you have you can keep it, and then pass regulations six months later that do just the opposite and figure that people are going to ignore it. But common sense is eventually going to prevail in this town and common sense is going to have to prevail on this piece of legislation as well,” Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said at the time. (more…)
Do you understand that headline? Yeah, me neither…. but I swear that “vocalized sound” (perhaps it’s the general language of nose ringed constituents who cross the Potomac) was the preferred method of communication in this rather odd Washington DC video:
The current meme for antagonism around Obamacare is to point out the falsehood behind the statement: “If you like your insurance plan/doctor, you can keep it“.

Anyone who has spent even a modicum of time following and researching this administration will note the only wording out of place was the first use of the term “you”.
The statement from President Obama would have been accurate if he had said:
..”If I like your insurance plan, you can keep it”
Where “I” is actually defined as the political ideology behind the phrase. It is the progressive ideology which defines what you can, or cannot, have. Period.
The entire premise of the ACA, or Obamacare, was government defining all the common denominators.
In essence they needed to create two impressions, one real and one false.
The false impression was the one they stated publicly. This was the one to make sure the electorate voted as they needed. The real impression is what they were doing, and what they actually did – in the architecture and construction of the new national healthcare.
It does not provide value to rise up against the false impression – it’s a snipe hunt. The uprising needs to be focused on the real action that took place. Actions speak louder than words, yet so many people fail to focus their pushback approach on the action; instead they get stuck focusing on the words. (more…)
(Via CNS News) Americans who were recipients of means-tested government benefits in 2011 outnumbered year-round full-time workers, according to data released this month by the Census Bureau. The recipients also out-numbered the total population of the Philippines.

There were 108,592,000 people in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2011 who were recipients of one or more means-tested government benefit programs, the Census Bureau said in data released this week. Meanwhile, according to the Census Bureau, there were 101,716,000 people who worked full-time year round in 2011. That included both private-sector and government workers.
That means there were about 1.07 people getting some form of means-tested government benefit for every 1 person working full-time year round. (read more)
D’oh – HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius may have been trying to create plausible deniability for Dear Leader, but what she actually said, and openly advocated for in her admissions, is just profoundly more affirmation of how inept President Obama actually is.
It comes as no surprise the single most important legislative construct of an inept unqualified President, that is bound to affect millions of Americans on one of the most important aspects of their lives, was doomed for failure in its roll-out while President Obama sat clueless and uninformed. What does that say about the priorities of the White House occupants, and their visible preferences to sit detached from ownership of that which they create? (video below)

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama didn’t know about the problems with the Affordable Care Act’s website – despite complaints from insurance companies and the site’s crashing during a test run – until days into its now well-documented abysmal launch, the nation’s health chief told CNN on Tuesday.
