On Gun Control and The Will Of The Majority – The progressive left is once again selling the story of a dysfunctional congress, specifically the Senate, because they did not pass more gun control.  A Ridiculous argument.

I know it is difficult to argue logic over emotion, but anyone who has spent time understanding the construct of our Constitutional Republic will attest to the failure of ‘background checks’ actually being a mere outcome of a properly functioning legislative body.

Our founders did not endorse, nor did they advocate for, a democracy – this is Fabian socialist re-writing of history.    Read anything by James Madison, Thomas Jefferson or Benjamin Franklin to understand the intent of the constitution which binds the nation.

We were founded upon the principle of “individual liberty”, not a collective association.  A Democracy was considered only one step worse than a monarchy.   We were founded as a Constitutional Republic specifically and intentionally to restrict the influence of government in our lives.  (more…)

Ideological Progs never retreat, they just evaluate the opposition and change their approach.

President Obama just delivered one of the most toxic and partisan press briefings in the Rose Garden against the backdrop of the defeated Gun Control Amendment.   Within his words the next steps are brutally obvious.

“The current leader of the nra used to support these background checks. So while this compromise didn’t contain everything I wanted or everything that these families wanted, it did represent progress. It represented moderation and common sense,” Obama said. “That’s why 90 percent of the American people supported it. But instead of supporting this compromise, the gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill.”

Obama calls the 60 vote threshold (2/3 majority needed – constitutional provision now 3/5ths) a “procedural rule exploited by the minority party“.

UPDATE:  Amendment fails 54-46  VOTE JUST TAKEN

The expanded background check / National gun registry amendment is currently being debated and voted on the floor of the Senate.   Initial predictive reports yesterday were for successful passage.   That is not the case – The amendment is expected to fail, thanks in Part to Kelly Ayote (Republican from New Hampshire).

Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) said Wednesday that she will oppose a Senate deal proposing to expand background checks on the purchases of firearms known as the Manchin-Toomey admendment.

“I believe that restricting the rights of law-abiding gun owners will not prevent a deranged individual or criminal from obtaining and misusing firearms to commit violence,” she said in a statement. “While steps must be taken to improve the existing background check system, I will not support the Manchin-Toomey legislation, which I believe would place unnecessary burdens on law-abiding gun owners and allow for potential overreach by the federal government into private gun sales.”

Ayotte’s opposition leaves the amendment short of the required 60 votes for passage, unless a senator reverses their position prior to the vote on the floor at 4pm ET today

[Hat Tip WeaselZippers]    WASHINGTON DC – Mark Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), is threatening to back an election challenge against Sen. Jeff Flake if the Arizona Republican votes against legislation to expand background checks.

At a Christian Science Monitor breakfast on Tuesday, Kelly said he would back an opponent to Flake if the “right candidate” was available and if the senator failed to support a background check bill, according to reports.

Flake, who is not up for reelection until 2018, has been close to Kelly and Giffords. But Kelly said the issue of control trumped their ties. (more…)

WASHINGTON – The Senate will vote Wednesday afternoon on what could be the biggest change in U.S. gun laws in nearly two years.

Senators will take up the bipartisan proposal from Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) to expand background checks on firearm purchases and close the so-called gun show loophole at 4 p.m.

It will require 60 votes to pass, and the White House and Democrats still lack the final votes they need. (more…)

You can report on the crap….. or you can get up and do something about the crap while you are reporting about it….  And simultaneously beat the snot out of the enemy you fight – in this case “The Media”.

This picture is a prime example of how “our side” needs to get outside of the box and start doing things differently.    Here is the picture which has been shared on multiple sites reflecting the “silence of the shams”;  Media Shams:

Instead of reporting on the absence of reporting.   If they want to really ‘out media’ the media and simutaneously actually “push back” against that which they rail against;  Then why not use judo instead of karate?

What would be more effective?   Showcasing the absence – OR – filling the void?   What do you think would be the outcome if one one day a bunch of people walked in to fill these benches?   People like:  Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, Jim Hoft, Matt Drudge, TEAM Breitbart,  Dana Loesch, Greta Van Sustern, Mike Huckabee, etc… etc….

Parents of a fourth grade student at Cedar Hills Elementary school found a disturbing note in their child’s backpack:  A crayon crafted pledge that stated:

“I am willing to give up some of my constitution rights in order to be safer or more secure.”

The note was part of a “civics lesson” based on materials provided in part, by an outside group of local attorneys known as “Justice Teaching”.  http://www.justiceteaching.org/

The lesson plan, in part, directs the teacher to compel the children to:

“ask all students to place their sticky post it notes on the appropriate chart papers labelled for that right.  Then ask all students to be seated. This provides a visual of which rights in the First Amendment are most valued and least valued by the group. Reference how many of the votes each right received.”:

While the Justice Teaching exercise is designed to open up a dialog about the sanctity and interconnectedness of “all” Rights, it has the potential to be – and apparently is – exploited to promote the agenda that “some” Rights are expendable in the pursuit of collective safety and security. Any form of “Cultural Marxism” is antithetical to freedom, because it belies the entire concept of openness, truthfulness and honesty – especially brutal honesty.

Progs, and liberals, democrats, fabian-socialists, and to a lesser extent other political interests, but for the sake of exhaustive definition “progs”, are hell-bent on controlling the optical narrative of all things according to an agenda they define.

Fabian Socialists = Modern Day Progressives. Modern Day Progressives are the Democrat Party. The Saul Alinsky approach is their preferred method of ideological advancement, and MSNBC is the primary professional media outlet for their messaging and optic systems.

Last week MSNBC ran a commercial for their network featuring Melissa Harris Perry.  The commercial was discussed in multiple forums because the message being delivered was “All your children are belong to us”.    Perry is a Tulane University professor and MSNBC host.

What is more interesting is the follow up commercial, the latest version.   This too outlines the Fabian Doctrine;  Only this one is about socialist economic models, the ideology of the economy the modern progressive movement are pushing right now:

MELISSA HARRIS-PERRY: Americans will always want some level of inequality because it’s a representation of a meritocracy.  People who work hard and sacrifice and save their money and make major contributions: we think that they should earn a little more. And they should have more resources. And that’s fine.

But we also however have to have a floor under which nobody falls. And if you’re below that, especially if you’re a child and you’re below that, we are not going to accept that. You do have the right to health care, and to education, and to decent housing and to quality food at all times.

This is EXACTLY the descriptive of Socialism.   AND it’s also the reason why this approach has been tried, and tried again, and always fails. (more…)
