The French authorities are dealing what they feel may be a “copy cat” attack against one of their active duty military members on “anti-terrorism” patrol in a crowded Paris street on Saturday.  The soldier was attacked from behind with a box-cutter – the same tool used in the 9-11 hijackings that brought down the World Trade Center.  While the US media remains silent, the UK’s Daily Mail helpfully reports:

A uniformed French soldier on anti-terrorist duties in Paris had his throat cut by a knife-wielding man tonight.

The savage attack follows the murder of a British soldier by two men using weapons including knives and a meat cleaver. One of the suspects said they were acting in the name of Islam.

Today there were fears that the Paris attack was a copy-cat crime and that a radical Muslim might once more be responsible.

The Hampton Coliseum Spring Carnival was cancelled a week early due to a gang related shooting which resulted in the death of Ralphael Davis Jr.  In addition to the deceased, four other teenagers were shot.  One remains in critical condition.

A 15-year-old male and 17-year-old male were arrested and each charged with one count of murder, four counts of maiming and five counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to Hampton Police.  (link)

The local progessive-sympathetic Virginia Pilot newspaper, which refused to fully report on the threats and black mob violence perpetrated in the name of Trayvon Martin against two of its own reporters in Norfolk, Virginia in 2012 again doubles down on living the lie by refusing to fully and honestly report on the events that led to the early cancellation of the carnival. The Book of Progressive Chauvinism – There is a reason why snobby elites on the Upper West Side of Manhattan generously donate to leftist causes and support leftist politicians. Snobs and radicals often act in accord because they are not opposites, as some believe, but rather spiritual cousins – equally despising “the bourgeois,” sharing a low view of humanity as herd animals, and sorting people not on their individual merits but by color, income, occupation, ethnicity, gender, and any other characteristic except the content of their minds.

Elitists share the presumption that people of the world cannot think for themselves and have no room in their souls for individual ambitions and achievements outside of what the government is giving them. Short of stating it explicitly, elitism implies that “the masses” are mindless, spiritless creatures without free will, always in need of the largesse of the state, and for their own good the state ought to nationalize the country’s resources in order to feed its subjects. If I were to describe to you a social event which dictated a historical need for tens of thousands of labor hours from the Police, always ended with hundreds of arrests, was viewed as dangerous by the local citizenry, and which needed so much law enforcement for safety that private citizens willingly paid for the cops, complete strangers, to stay at their homes just so they could feel safe; You’d probably think I was crazy right?

What if we told you in addition to the above, in less than a 20 block radius the police were going to:

1. Install  18 continually monitored live CCTV cameras 24/7
2. Put 600 police officers in that same area – borrowing 200 from other towns.
3. Pre-install automatic license plate readers connected to Homeland Security.
4. Erect two dozen police staffed watchtowers.
5. Spend $140,000 to “rent” tanks and light armored vehicles with FLIR.
6. In total spend around $1,800,000.00 not including overtime for 4 days.

Consider this year’s event:

It has yet to really start, and yet – Police arrested 51 people [so far] between 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday afternoon.

Additionally – The police department has on loan a $140,000 all-terrain vehicle used in the military. The vehicle can use Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) to detect body heat nearly a mile away.

I mean what local government would keep subjecting themselves to the risks associated with allowing such a festival to take place year after year, knowing full well the same historical outcome would be repeated?   Why would they put themselves, and by consequence their community, through such intentional anxiety? Treeper Shari – uncovered some very interesting aspect about Cory Craig Johnson that leads to a far greater understanding about “why” Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin have such a keen interest in the “Stand-Your-Ground” legislation.

Apparently this is something they have a vested interest in keeping hidden from public understanding or awareness.

A Northwestern University student was rejected for a “diversity and inclusion post” in student government because he is a white, heterosexual male, resulting in a sharp rebuke from the university’s student newspaper.

Northwestern University’s Associated Student Government rejected the nomination of Stephen Piotrkowski for associate vice president of diversity and inclusion last week. The student-run committee “oversees diversity initiatives that stem from the undergraduate student body.”

Piotrkowski’s nomination sparked a heated discussion during an ASG meeting – described by a student reporter as “contentious.”

“This university is not ready, in any capacity, for a heterosexual white male to be in charge in any way of diversity and inclusion,” said Ian Coley, a member of the diversity committee. “I don’t know if any university is.” (more…)
