On September 11th 2012 radical Islamists through the Muslim Brotherhood had gained power in the Morsi administration.   As a consequence they scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo Egypt and hoisted the al-Qaeda flag during an organized protest by Brotherhood leader Mohammed Al Zawahiri.  They wanted the U.S. to release the Blind Sheik, an Egyptian terrorist.

But Hillary Blamed a U-Tube Video.

WHY ?   Because she had to !

That was the message of the Obama administration and their friends in the media for the past two years, and now we know why: Benghazi is the scandal they always denied it was.

Thanks to a lawsuit by watchdog group Judicial Watch, the administration last week released correspondence about the terrorist attack in Libya on Sept. 11, 2012 that left US ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others dead.

One memo, from Ben Rhodes, the deputy national security director for strategic communications, shows how the administration was trying to spin the attack as something other than their own strategic failures. (more…)

(Via Heritage) […] Sharyl Attkisson wants to know why the White House didn’t do the same thing after the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that resulted in the deaths of four Americans.

In an interview with Glenn Beck yesterday, Attkisson, a former CBS News investigative reporter, revealed that she requested White House photos taken as events in Benghazi unfolded more than a year ago — only to be met with silence.

“I’ve asked for the White House photographs taken that night,” Attkisson told Beck. “The White House photo office went from telling me the very day I asked that I could have them to referring me to Josh Earnest, a press officer at the White House, saying he had to release them. And it’s been a year-and-a-half and he won’t return my calls or emails.”

Two familiar questions have recently been resurrected by the professional left.  Both questions essentially stem from obfuscation and intentional deflection around the Libyan attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi.

When the conversation comes up about Benghazi, much of it is now focused on the lies and cover-up after the attack itself.   In an effort to diminish inquiry, the professional left throw out a familiar prose:  “Oh yeah, well if it’s a cover up what exactly were they trying to cover up”?

Or more professionally stated:

• What was the policy failure in Libya that created the Benghazi crisis and immediately created risk to the Obama administration?

WASHINGTON DC – House Republicans moved on two fronts Friday to dig for answers on Benghazi, with Speaker John Boehner announcing a special committee to investigate and a key panel subpoenaing Secretary of State John Kerry to testify.

In a significant shift, Boehner announced that the House will vote on establishing a select committee to investigate, on the heels of newly released emails that raised additional questions about the White House’s response.

Top Republicans claimed those emails should have been released to Congress months ago, and Boehner signaled those concerns prompted him to rethink the need for a select committee.

“Americans learned this week that the Obama Administration is so intent on obstructing the truth about Benghazi that it is even willing to defy subpoenas issued by the standing committees of the People’s House. These revelations compel the House to take every possible action to ensure the American people have the truth about the terrorist attack on our consulate that killed four of our countrymen,” he said in a statement.  (more…)

After you read this article, and the email, you begin to understand why the President of Libya was gobsmacked when Susan Rice attributed the impetus of the Benghazi attack to a U-Tube video. The State Department had just told his Ambassador, Aujali, it was a planned and coordinated terror attack by al-Qaeda elements – then the U.S. UN Ambassador goes on TV with him and begins blaming a U-Tube video.

Sharyl Attkisson – A newly-released government email indicates that within hours of the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks on Americans in Benghazi, Libya; the State Department had already concluded with certainty that the Islamic militia terrorist group Ansar al Sharia was to blame.

The private, internal communication directly contradicts the message that President Obama,Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice and White House press secretary Jay Carney repeated publicly over the course of the next several weeks. They often maintained that an anti-Islamic YouTube video inspired a spontaneous demonstration that escalated into violence.

The email is entitled “Libya update from Beth Jones. ” Jones was then-Assistant Secretary of State to Hillary Clinton. According to the email, Jones spoke to Libya’s Ambassador at 9:45am on Sept. 12, 2012 following the attacks. (more…)

Washington DC – On Tuesday, an email obtained by the government watchdog Judicial Watch revealed that a senior American advisor informed then National Security Advisor Susan Rice to emphasize that the deadly 2012 attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya was the result of a spontaneous protest arising from an inflammatory YouTube video.

Transcripts later revealed that senior defense officials had informed the administration on the night of the assault that the event was a “terrorist attack.”
Fox’s intel correspondent Catherine Herridge reported that a September 14 emails links White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes advised Rice to focus on the YouTube video during her appearances on a variety of Sunday morning news programs:
Among the goals Rhodes outlined for Rice was for her “to underscore that these protests are rooted in an internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.”  (read with video)

(Via Byron York)  On Tuesday, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered when she was asked a question concerning one of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s main legacies at Foggy Bottom. It was something called the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review, known around the Department by the clunky acronym QDDR, and it was created by Secretary Clinton in 2010 to “provide a sweeping assessment of how the Department of State … can become more efficient, accountable, and effective.”
When Psaki announced that the 2014 edition of the QDDR is now underway, to “build on the foundation established by the 2010 review,” Associated Press reporter Matt Lee asked: “Off the top of your head, can you identify one tangible achievement that the last QDDR resulted in?”
Psaki could not. “Well, Matt, obviously it’s an extensive, expansive process,” she began. Noting that she came to the State Department after the first review was finished, Psaki said, “I am certain that those who were here at the time, who worked hard on that effort, could point out one.” (more…)
