When asked by local press the hypothetical question of whether or not they’d prefer to have their family owned business, Memories Pizza, cater a gay wedding, the owner said no citing their own religious beliefs as the reason. They have never been asked to cater a wedding. Local media used their statements to frame a story of bigotry.

The Leftists went on full attack against the family and their pizza business. Death threats, on-line attacks, inbound phone calls filled with hate. With media camped out on their doorstep the little pizza shop was unable to do business and closed.

All of that for having an opinion that is rooted in faith and answering a hypothetical question asked by a news reporter who had questionable motives to begin with. A Blaze TV producer set up a GoFundMe account to assist them through the financial impacts.

The story of Anthony Stokes didn’t start the day he died after crashing a stolen car into a pedestrian and sign post.

Nor did his story start moments earlier when he kicked down the door of an elderly Roswell Georgia woman and shot at her as she sat on the couch during his home invasion.

The public story of Anthony Stokes actually began a few years prior, in 2013, when he was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, a terminal condition if he did not receive a heart transplant.

He became a public story because Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston informed his family he would not be a candidate for transplant because of his past behavior:

“the decision was made that Anthony is currently not a transplant candidate due to having a history of non-compliance, which is one of our center’s contraindications to listing for heart transplant.”

“Non-compliance” a relatively disingenuous term without further definition; and in the case of Anthony Stokes a definition fraught with considerations for the most politically correct delivery.

The refusal of the hospital to place Stokes on the transplant list drew the ire of his family, who, quickly enlisted the aid of the grievance marketers within the media.

“They just don’t want to give him a chance,” Anthony’s mother, Melencia Hamilton, told Channel 2.

UPDATE: The moonbattery has metastasized into a supernova of hatred. The intolerant leftists have shut down the mom and pop pizzeria with phone attacks and an on-line onslaught similar to Chick-Fil-A in 2012. Only this time the business is not a corporation it’s a family restaurant without the corporate resources.

A GoFundMe Fundraising Account has been set up to assist the “Memories Pizza” owners offset the damage to their business.

You might have noticed an absolute apoplectic reaction to an article about an Indiana Pizza Shop, Memories Pizza, which is being sold as the “First business (restaurant) to publically deny service to same sex marriage”.

The majority of the advisors around former Florida Jeb Bush continue to carry the same outlook.  An almost identical campaign perspective as former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.

Their perspective can be encapsulated thusly: The various contingencies of the conservative electorate will vote for us regardless of what we do or don’t do – they have no option. Ergo we don’t need to win their support, they are -for all intents and purposes- irrelevant, their votes are guaranteed.

Team Romney in 2011/2012 took this approach and -in my opinion- suffered a backlash from large numbers of voters feeling taken for granted and staying home on election day. The advisors around Bush and Romney are disconnected from the decade of change within the electorate. As a consequence Jeb Bush appears to be following an almost identical path as Mitt Romney.
