Meanwhile on vacation President Obama stopped short of calling Michael Brown his son, but he did deliver a Presidential Statement on the events:
“The death of Michael Brown is heartbreaking, and Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and his community at this very difficult time.
As Attorney General Holder has indicated, the Department of Justice is investigating the situation along with local officials, and they will continue to direct resources to the case as needed.
I know the events of the past few days have prompted strong passions, but as details unfold, I urge everyone in Ferguson, Missouri, and across the country, to remember this young man through reflection and understanding. We should comfort each other and talk with one another in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds. Along with our prayers, that’s what Michael and his family, and our broader American community, deserve.  ~ President Barack Obama 8/12/14

Update:  NBPP rally over, crowd dispersed, NOTAMS lifted, County Police now feel the situation is more secure.
Daily Caller reports the PD requested the NOTAMS after shots were fired at a county chopper.

Liberalism is fundamentally comical when witnessed.  These Farrow-types are the same people who railed against a cheerleader/hunter pictured with a dead lion in Africa – Yet oddly lose their voice when confronted with seven-year-old ISIL jihadist pictured proudly holding a severed human head.

During a Monday afternoon segment discussing the police shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, guest Jonathan Capehart suggested that black men have to go extra lengths to ensure their safety in public.

“Don’t run in public,” he said. “Don’t run with anything in your hands. Keep a discreet distance away from white women, lest you get accused of any number of things.” His larger point being that a black male looking and talking a certain way in public could lead to unwanted assumptions or trouble, more so than any other race. Note what is in the waistband of this unhappy protestor.  Who apparently wonders why the police would be twitchy during an arrest.   #Irony

Media reports: “unarmed teen”, “black child”, “about to start college”, “Michael Skolnik”, “NAACP”, “calls for Federal DOJ intervention”, “Eric Holder”, “murder”, “innocent”, “community relations service”, etc ….
(CNN) — A friend and witnesses say Missouri teen Michael Brown was unarmed and had his hands in the air when a Ferguson police officer shot and killed him, but that account is in dispute.

“The genesis of this was a physical confrontation,” Jon Belmar, chief of the St. Louis County Police Department, said at a Sunday news conference.

The officer tried to leave his vehicle just before the shooting on Saturday afternoon, but Brown pushed him back into the car, “where he physically assaulted the police officer” and struggled over the officer’s weapon, Belmar said.

A shot was fired inside the police car, and Brown was eventually shot about 35 feet away from the vehicle, Belmar said, adding few details because he didn’t want to “prejudice” the case. (more…)

“If you want to call me an activist attorney general, I will proudly accept that label,” he said. “Any attorney general who is not an activist is not doing his or her job. The responsibility of the attorney general is to change things [and] bring us closer to the ideals expressed in our founding documents.”
Later, he defiantly added that critics who say his department includes an “activist civil rights division and this is an activist attorney general — I’d say I agree with you 1000 percent and [I am] proud of it.”  (read more)
