Botched Robbery Gives Robber Mouf Full O’ Chicklets – Man Robbing Bank With Toy Gun Promptly Shot In The Face With A .357

Is it just me, or does Mr. bank Robber appear to wear a monkey mask?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A toy gun was the weapon a 34-year-old man used last week to try to rob a bank in Trimble, Mo., according to investigators.

But the bank worker who shot him in the face didn’t know that when he stepped in to try to protect a female teller crawling on the ground.

The U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri announced Monday that Michael Oliva was charged in federal court in connection to the attempted bank robbery and leading law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase. (more…)

FoxBaltimore.com reports that Josh Welch, a second-grader at Park Elementary School in Baltimore, was eating a strawberry tart when he decided to shape it into a mountain.

“All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but, it didn’t look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun [kind of],” Josh told the station. (more…)

Prog Logic: POTUS Pardons Man Convicted Of Gun Crime – The Same Gun Crime He Seeks To Strengthen…..

Presidential pardons always represent somewhat of a conundrum.   While I actually agree with the pardon in this case because it is a freedom principle, this one seems particularly odd against the backdrop of Obama’s current gun restriction proposals. In essence he’s now pardoning a man who was convicted of the same crimes he’s proclaiming need to be more strictly enforced?

Obama ConfusedWASHINGTON DC – President Obama issued his first series of presidential pardons today, including one for a man who was convicted of possession of an unregistered firearm.

Larry Wayne Thornton of Forsyth, Ga., was sentenced to four years of probation for “possession of an unregistered firearm” and “possession of a firearm without a serial number.”

He is one of 17 people pardoned today.

The pardon comes as Obama is emphasizing, as part of his gun control push, the need to know who is buying weapons. (more…)

March 2, 1836: The Republic of Texas is Declared!

Texas Independence Day

March 2, 1836

Lorenzo de Zavala

When I was a mere lad, Texas Independence Day was celebrated in schools with patriotic songs, readings of the Declaration by schoolkids and grave lectures on our role as Texans by our teachers. Even the Mexican kids participated, because anyone who’d read the  hallowed rolls of the Alamo and Goliad dead knew that there were plenty of martyrs with Spanish surnames. We also knew of Lorenzo de Zavala and Juan Seguin, both Texian heroes of the Revolution.

Juan Seguin

It was understood by the youngest of us that Texas went from being just the mostly empty northern part of the Mexican state of Cohuila-Texas to the independent Republic of Texas with the signing of this document. Like the beloved United States, from whence the spirit -and some would say impetus – of revolution had come, we won our right to be free through the force of arms, wielded by brave and bold men. Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, the despot which our Texas Forefathers overthrew was ever bit as evil and prone to predations as Britain’s George III. His one saving grace, that he invented that most American of oral fixations, chewing gum, was more than off-set by his cruelty and duplicitous nature. The self-proclaimed Napoleon of the North, he boasted an army well-officered and well-equipped that had spent the past couple of years putting down rebellions in Mexico. It wasn’t just the Texians who longed for the return to a government who respected the liberal Constitution of 1824.  (more…)

Obama’s Strategic Astroturfing Support – OFA Fake Twitter Accounts Created To Tweet Congress For Gun Ban Support

Weasel Zippers also covered this story last week  It is so typical of this propaganda administration to “create” the optic of support where no such support for their leftist ideology exists.

Strong in the fail(Via The Hill)  A Texas Republican on Monday said President Obama’s gun control campaign is a  fraud based on fake messages over Twitter.

Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) accused Obama of trying to make support for his  position look stronger than it really is by flooding Twitter with messages from  people who don’t exist.

“Obama’s anti-gun campaign is a fraud,” Stockman said. “Obama’s supporters  are panicking and willing to do anything to create the appearance of popular  support, even if it means trying to defraud Congress,” he added. “I call upon  the president to denounce this phony spam campaign.”

Vice Presidential Advice – “Buy A Shotgun, Buy A Shotgun”…

liberal-menatl-disorder-275x75An enterprising person put together this very excellent video after Vice-President Biden gave his famous advice telling women to buy a shotgun. This ‘in your face reality’ is exactly the right approach to take when progressives give advice.

One of the most common ideological binding threads of progressive thought is they never actually offer fact-based advice.   Progs have opinions and various thesis that run through their thought patterns as synapses fire with random illogical patterning.

Non-progs reconcile irrational thoughts with prudent consideration, accepting they may not have all the answers.  Progs typically just espouse whatever first comes to mind off the top of their heads – that’s why they are prone to advancing emotional legislation.

Senate Committee Vote On Gun Ban Legislation Expected This Week

(WaPo) — A proposed ban on military-style assault weapons faces a key test vote as early as Thursday when the committee considering gun control legislation is scheduled to decide whether to refer the proposal to the full Senate.

Senator-Dianne-Feinstein

The Senate Judiciary Committee released a list of four bills it plans to consider at a business meeting Thursday morning, but Senate Republicans could use the panel’s procedural rules to delay the meeting for a week. As with most Senate proceedings, the list of bills could change — some might be dropped or others added to the list — but the Senate is clearly on the verge of beginning the formal process of reviewing legislation introduced in the wake of the Newtown, Conn. school shooting. Chicago Blame Game (Video)

(Hat Tip Ottawa925) – FOX News host Judge Jeanine Pirro delivers a powerful message to Chicago’s Superintendent of Police, Garry McCarthy, after he’s gone on record stating that legal gun owners are corrupt and endanger public safety, as well as federal gun laws are ‘racist’:
