Okay, it’s been a doozy. Today is that day we’ve all been waiting for since, well for most of us, last March. For my family it started on January 2.

But we made it, we are here, and we can make this year better. We took our lumps, learned a lot, and now we go into 2021 full of possibilities, hopes, and yes, we still have our dreams. We cannot live without hope and dreams.

Humans haven’t just accomplished great things in easy times. Actually, if you look back over the episodes and actions we tend to build our cultures around, the opposite is true. There were battles, plagues, hordes of invaders, nations rising and falling. Men and women stepping out of obscure everyday lives into moments of need and crises and changing their world, our world.

The world keeps on turning for you and me and all the people not because they waited on and found one man or one woman to make things better for them. We go where we need to go, we accomplish the life that keeps the world turning in quiet sacrifice and blind faith and it never gets recorded or known. (more…)

Dinesh D’Souza points out: “the GOP establishment must recognize there is no way forward without the Trump voters, and the Trump voters demand a challenge of the election results.”  I would slightly disagree with the party linguistics, but essentially D’Souza has a point.  Unfortunately, the GOPe doesn’t care.

Also unfortunately the un-discussed aspect is the unity pact between both wings of the UniParty bird.  The GOPe wants elimination of “Trump” supporters in exactly the same way the GOP wanted, and orchestrated, the elimination of the Tea Party.

If America-First or “MAGA” ideology is the Republican brand, that means the elimination (ie. lots of republicans being primaried) of tenured GOPe politicians.  As an outcome, “Trumpism” is a risk to their structural power.  The charge against the Tea Party was led by Republicans.  The same charge against Trump is led by Republicans.

2020 has been a tumultuous year for all of us.  As the eve winds down we are given to considering everything that has taken place. We are challenged; perhaps our center is askew; perhaps our faith holds a new perspective, or perhaps our exhaustion weighs heavy as we rush turning to the next chapter…. hoping, praying for a better tomorrow.

It seems a lifetime ago; a time of carelessness taken for granted; and yet, I remember it as if it were yesterday.  Driving North to see family and randomly saying “let’s just turn left in Ohio & head west.” It seemed randomly nuts at the time; however, a decade later as I held her hand & gave permission to say goodbye, I was blessed to have made that decision.

Regardless of what tomorrow brings, we have choices.  A new year’s perspective:

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence, Richard “Ric” Grenell, discusses his own experience within Nevada with officials who would not allow evidence to be gathered.  As Grenell states in the interview: “The whole idea we are not providing evidence, is because they [corrupt officials] control the actual physical evidence.”

Comrade rebels, a 46-year-old woman in the U.K. was arrested after she posted a video on-line, filmed at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, showing empty hospital wards while officials in the U.K. state publicly the health system is overwhelmed. [STORY HERE]

[…] A statement from Gloucestershire Police said: “Following a number of reports in relation to a video filmed by a member of the public at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and posted online, officers arrested a 46-year-old woman yesterday (Tuesday 29 December) on suspicion of a public order offence.

“The woman has been bailed to return to police on 21 January, with conditions that she cannot enter any NHS premises or the grounds of any such premises, unless in the case of an emergency or to attend a pre-arranged NHS appointment.” (link)

The lady walks through the hospital for several minutes (video below) while explaining that people are waiting for treatment but the hospital itself is empty.  The section of the hospital being reviewed is the outpatient clinic during daytime; and if -as the hospital claims- that all services are overwhelmed, it does appear there is a disconnect between the official NHS narrative and the reality on the ground.

Today, our president, Donald J Trump released the following New Year’s Eve message from the White House.  The message is focused on the success of Operation Warp Speed to deliver a vaccine against COVID-19 to the world, and optimistic outlook for the U.S. economy in the future.
