Summary: No we haven’t done it, but we could, and if needed – we might.
Trying to take full advantage of a faux-crisis….
WASHINGTON DC – Never say the White House isn’t affected by sequestration. The Visitors Office just notified Congress that tours of the White House are cancelled until further notice.
“Due to staffing reductions resulting from sequestration, we regret to inform you that White House Tours will be canceled effective Saturday, March 9, 2013 until further notice,” the White House email to legislative offices explains.
“Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule affected tours. We very much regret having to take this action, particularly during the popular Spring touring season.” (more)
The most transparent administration evah just can’t seem to find folks not embroiled in some sort of manipulative cover-up. Funny that.
WASHINGTON DC – President Barack Obama tapped Environmental Protection Agency official Gina McCarthy to head the agency on Monday, but a widening probe into the use of secret email addresses by high-level EPA officials could slow her nomination and cause headaches for the administration.
Obama chose McCarthy, current assistant administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation at the EPA, to replace former EPA administrator Lisa Jackson.
Jackson resigned amid growing scrutiny over her use of a secret email address to conduct official business, which watchdog groups say is a possible violation of federal record laws. (more…)
Those pesky “rebels” that Hillary, Obama, Powers and Rice supported – the ones who killed Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi – you know, the ones we really didn’t know what their ideology was but we sent them missiles and guns n’ stuff,…. well, they’re back at it again....
[Hat Tip WeaselZippers] LIBYA – Libyan Islamists detained 48 Egyptian Christians in Benghazi last week, torturing them and using acid to burn off tattoos of the cross, according to family members. The Christians, who are peddlers, were arrested by Islamist Salafists in Benghazi, who said they had Christian icons at their marketplace stalls, according to Mideast Christian News.
The men were later reportedly freed and await deportation, but their family members back home told the Egyptian press they were abused while held, initially on charges of proselytizing. “When the residents of the village told me that he was imprisoned, I embraced his sons and told them they would not see their father again,” Fardoos Salib, the mother of Coptic farmer Atif Kamel, told Egyptian newspaper al-Watan. Hey Ketchup Boy, ask yourself why the democracy movement, the real freedom seekers, in Egypt were protesting your visit? Ask yourself why is it needed for this administration to send the Muslim Brotherhood fighter jets when they have already asserted their willingness to ignore the Camp David peace accord with Israel? Ask youself how is it possible for Iran to ship long-range rockets through Egypt to Gaza? You are an embarassment to anyone around the world who advocates for freedom. Go spit !
SECRETARY KERRY: No, I heard very passionate people who are deeply committed to Egypt and to their version of the democracy that they fought for in their revolution. And I completely understand that. I wanted to hear from them. I explored their strategy and thoughts. (more…)
WASHINGTON DC – The Obama administration has been better for Israel than the last eight administrations, Vice-President Joe Biden told a large crowd at the AIPAC conference Monday. “We’ve stood shoulder to shoulder over the past 40 years defending the legitimate interests of Israel,” Biden told an enthusiastic audience, “but no administration, no President has done as much to physically secure the State of Israel as Barack Obama,” Biden said.
In the midst of what Biden called “the Great Recession,” the U.S. has upped its aid to Israel, providing $1.3 billion in military aid in 2012. (more…)
What happens when you blend the DNA of a Prog, a petri dish of rabid leftist drool, the ink stained latte’ cups from a complicit-water carrying media, a screaming chicken little, and a boy child affirmative action community organizer -turned Potus- addicted to spending on his social welfare programs and elitist rich pals via crony capitalism?
You get this….
See how desperate they have gotten here.
Yet, anyone who questions the insufferable and profoundly silly claims of the end of the world gets this: (more…)
If Rand Paul runs for office in 2016 I will remind every one of his supporters of this decision….. until like the Paulbots they are left with nothing but spit. Chuck Hagel is insufferably unqualified for Secretary of Defense.
WASHINGTON DC – Chuck Hagel won confirmation Tuesday to become defense secretary over objections to his views on Middle East security and the administration’s handling of an attack on a U.S. consulate in Libya.
On a 58 to 41 vote, the Senate confirmed the former GOP senator as four Republicans joined 54 Democrats in approving Hagel, ending a nearly two-month battle that included an unprecedented filibuster against the nominee.
The four Republican senators voting in favor were Thad Cochran (Miss.), Mike Johanns (Neb.), Richard C. Shelby (Ala.) and Rand Paul (Ky.). All 41 no votes came from Republicans. (more…)
Weasel Zippers also covered this story last week It is so typical of this propaganda administration to “create” the optic of support where no such support for their leftist ideology exists.

(Via The Hill) A Texas Republican on Monday said President Obama’s gun control campaign is a fraud based on fake messages over Twitter.
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas) accused Obama of trying to make support for his position look stronger than it really is by flooding Twitter with messages from people who don’t exist.
“Obama’s anti-gun campaign is a fraud,” Stockman said. “Obama’s supporters are panicking and willing to do anything to create the appearance of popular support, even if it means trying to defraud Congress,” he added. “I call upon the president to denounce this phony spam campaign.”
LONDON (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry tried Monday to patch back together a conference with Syrian opposition leaders that was to be the centerpiece of his debut overseas trip, urging Syrian rebel leaders not to boycott the meeting and insisting that more help is on the way in their fight against President Bashar Assad.
Kerry not only made a public plea at a joint news conference Monday with British Foreign Secretary William Hague, he also called Moaz Khatib, leader of the Syrian Opposition Council, “to encourage him to come to Rome,” a senior U.S. official said. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak publicly on the matter. (more…)
