Unimaginable Grief – Prayers For The 19 Fallen Arizona Firefighters – Yarnell Hill Arizona

700148ARIZONA – Arizona forestry officials confirmed Sunday night that 19 firefighters have died in the Yarnell Hill Fire that has ripped through half of the town, sent residents to Prescott for safety and given the state its worst wildfire firefighter tragedy.
“It’s a dark day,” said Mike Reichling, Arizona State Forestry Division spokesman.
Reichling said the 19 firefighters were found in an area that also had 19 fire shelters deployed. Some of the firefighters were inside a shelter, which is typically used as a last resort to withstand the fire as it blows over. Some of the crew members were found outside the shelters.
Officials said 18 of the dead were members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots team. It’s unknown which fire crew the 19th firefighter belonged to. The firefighters are part of a team that is typically sent in first to help cut off the fire, Reichling said. (more…)

Prayers For Oklahoma – And Surrounding

OKLAHOMA CITY — A violent storm formed over the prairie west of Oklahoma City late Friday afternoon, dropped a tornado in a suburb and rolled into the state capital as viewers brave enough to remain above ground watched on statewide television. State troopers reported a number of injuries.

Storm chasers with cameras in their car transmitted video showing a number of funnels dropping from the supercell thunderstorm as it passed south of El Reno and into Oklahoma City just south of downtown. Police urged motorists to leave the crosstown Interstate 40 and seek a safe place. (more…)

HuffPo Tries To Protect Union Greed – But Truth Has No Agenda

Earlier today the Huffington Post decided to take the progressive position to defend the NJ and New York power companies from well deserved ridicule.   The Power Companies in both states have refused to allow non-union disaster recovery teams to rebuild power service to affected citizens in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The Huffington Post presented, once again, a series of falsehoods intended to deflect the truth:  (Huffington Post)  Out-of-state workers have been pouring into New Jersey to help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy, but one Alabama-based utility crew claims that it returned home because of a requirement that all workers be union-affiliated. Labor officials, a New Jersey utility company and Gov. Chris Christie deny, however, that any such condition exists. (more…)

Disaster Recovery Teams Turned Away in New Jersey – Power Company workers turned away because they are non-union….

Hey New Jerseyites…  How’s that Red-Tape thingy working out for you now?

Piers Morgan made it a point today to angrily point fingers at Con-Edison power company officials about the length of time it is taking to restore power. He went on quite a rant with his pal, Trenton-NJ Mayor, Corey Booker…..   However, given power company emergency disaster recovery teams being turned away by New Jersey officials because they are “non union” workers I wonder how Piers and his boy-pal Booker will spin that one?   Jackasses !

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NEW JERSEY (WAFF) –  The hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving north Alabama help, but crews from Huntsville Utilities learned they’ll be doing work in Long Island, New York instead of in New Jersey.

Crews from Huntsville, as well as Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees.

The crews that are in Roanoke, Virginia say they are just watching and waiting even though they originally received a call asking for help from Seaside Heights, New Jersey. (more…)
