ST. LOUIS • A St. Louis teen who authorities say is a member of a gang called the “Obama Boyz” has been charged with two shootings on Saturday.
Anthony Jamal Lee, 18, fired at a group of people from the window of a Grand Prix at 2:17 p.m., according to charges. A 13-year-old boy was struck in the side of his body and had to be hospitalized; a 17-year-old boy was grazed by bullets on his face and arm.
Lee, according to authorities, then fired from his car at two passengers in another Grand Prix, grazing one of them in the back.
One shooting occurred at the 3200 block of Oriole Avenue, and the other nearby at Harney and Beacon avenues. (more…)

WASHINGTON DC – D.C. police put out a lookout Sunday night for an unusual robbery suspect: a black male roughly 6 or 7 years old. Police issued the alert at about 8:10 p.m., asking the public to look out for a suspect that was about 4 feet tall and weighed around 100 pounds.
In a news release issued about two hours later, a spokeswoman said police were investigating a report that a group of boys between the ages of 7 and 14 approached a customer at a McDonald’s in the 4300 block of Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue in Northeast at approximately 6:30 p.m. (more…)

(Via SBPDL) The Warriors is movie in dire need of a re-make. Made in 1979, the movie is a tale of rival gangs in New York City and, well, isn’t a good movie.
Based on a book by Sol Yurick, the director and casting agents of The Warriors was forced to add white characters to the eponymous gang because Paramount (which would be distributing the film) didn’t think an all-Black cast would have any “commercial appeal.”
Yurick’s book doesn’t have a white character, and the re-make of The Warriors should try and be as true to the source material as possible.
With one exception: move the location of the gang-war to Chicago, a city already besieged by the type of violence Yurick wrote about. More to the point, the participants are already the correct racial hue.

DELAWARE – Authorities suspended a day care center’s license and operations, pending a hearing, after three employees allegedly encouraged two 3-year-olds to fight each other.
Police say the alleged incident took place in March at Hands of Our Future day care in Dover, Del. and surfaced this weekend when it was shown to a police officer, The News Journal reports.
In the video, a child is heard crying and yelling, “he’s pinching me,” to which a day care worker responds, “no pinching, only punching,” CBS Philly reports.
“Clearly one of the children is crying and does not want to continue on and he is being pushed back into the fray by one of the adults,” Dover Police Capt. Tim Stump told the station. (more…)
