ISRAEL – The Israeli Air Force struck some 70 targets in the Gaza Strip in the past hour, the IDF Spokesman’s Office said shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. Among the targets, the IDF statement said, were underground medium-range rocket launching pads. The most recent blitz of air strikes brought the total number to well over 300.

Palestinians have fired over 275 rockets from Gaza into the South since the IDF launched its operation. Two rockets triggered an air raid siren in Tel Aviv, marking the first time that a real siren was sounded in Tel Aviv since the Gulf War in the early 1990s. (more)

A recent CIA “press briefing” has led to a new, but not unexpected, evolutionary narrative explaining the insufferable incompetence and obfuscation surrounding the Benghazi slaughter.

What better administrative “cover” for the falsehoods, lies and intentional administrative spin on the murders of four Americans than to hide behind the guise of the Central Intelligence Agency.   Vis-a-vi:  “we had to lie because it was all secret and stuff”… Seriously?   So this is the strategy now to hide the incompetence?

You have to be semi-close to this story to understand what is at play here, and how the administration is now playing it.   When we say “administration,” we mean all aspects of the 3-Dimensional administrative chess game of  Washington DC “responsibility avoidance”. (more…)

Last year we tried to send a little refuge warning beacon to anyone who would pay attention.  Our warning was to underscore why OUR national leadership on both sides of the aisle was failing us.   Few paid attention.  Today we are facing the consequences from those short-sighted decisions.  Here is the concern we shared in Sept. of 2011:

[September 7th 2011]  For several months my fears about the collapse of the Libyan regime have been heightened with the thought of all the Libyan arms being dispatched to all of our enemies throughout the middle east.

Six months ago the first reports of Missiles, WMD (mustard gas), and SAM’s being sold and traded to hostile forces of the West were confirmed. There is no substantive reason to believe these missiles will not leave the Middle East and be used against the West. Indeed, if a prudent consideration is applied exactly the opposite should be anticipated. (more…)

(From Douglass J Hagman @CFP) According to the U.S. government, Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed during a spontaneous protest at the consulate office in Benghazi by a frenzied crowd of Muslims outraged over an obscure internet video. Recently released “sensitive but not classified e-mails” from Stevens to the U.S. Department of State painted a picture of poor security for U.S. personnel and the embassy, which was obviously true but had little to do with the events of September 11, 2012.

The failure to dispatch an extraction team or otherwise rescue the men during a firefight that lasted upwards of nine grueling and tortuous hours was not the result of any intelligence failure, but caused by our unwillingness to widen the conflict and expose the nature and scale of our true mission in Benghazi. For those not keeping track, Ayman Al Zawahiri is the #1 al-Qaeda leader (now that Bin Laden is dead) and he is calling all Muslims to help the Syrian “Rebels”.   Yep, it appears the Obama administration is now supporting al-Qaeda….

(Reuters) — Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri has called on Muslims to kidnap Westerners, join Syria’s rebellion and ensure Egypt implements sharia, SITE Monitoring reported, citing a two-part film posted on Islamist websites.

“We are seeking, by the help of Allah, to capture others and to incite Muslims to capture the citizens of the countries that are fighting Muslims in order to release our captives,” he said, praising the kidnapping of Warren Weinstein, a 71-year-old American aid worker in Pakistan last year.  (read more)
