(WashingtonPost)…Since rising to national prominence during the 2008 presidential campaign, the former Alaska governor has demonstrated an uncanny ability to not only draw media attention but manipulate that coverage when and how she chooses.
“For someone out of elected office and not running for anything, Palin has a near singular ability to capture the media’s attention,” said Christian Ferry who served as deputy campaign manager for Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential bid. “If you take her at her word, which I do, she doesn’t know if she is going to run for president, but she knows she has this power with the media and she is smart to use it.”

Tea party group re-invites O’Donnell to Iowa rally — and she accepts…

(DelawareOnline)…It appears Christine O’Donnell will speak Saturday at a tea party rally in Iowa after all.
After dropping O’Donnell from the lineup of conservative speakers earlier today, the Tea Party of America group has re-invited her to speak at its “Restoring America” event in Indianola, Iowa, according to the group’s founder and O’Donnell. (more…)

(TIR)…High level Iowa Republicans tell TheIowaRepublican.com that Sarah Palin will fly to New Hampshire following her September 3^rd appearance in central Iowa.
Speculation has been swirling about whether or not Palin will use her Iowa appearance in Iowa over Labor Day weekend to join the field of Republican candidates.  The news that Palin is New Hampshire bound after her Iowa speech will only add to the speculation that she may be entering the Republican presidential field.

The date was August 29, 1988 when Todd Palin and Sarah Louise Heath decided to forgo the big wedding, and instead eloped to the tiny courthouse in Palmer, Alaska.  Todd said, “We had a bad fishing year that year, so we didn’t have any money.  So we decided to spend thirty-five bucks and go down to the courthouse.” Sarah and Todd had dated since high school, and reportedly used two residents of a nearby nursing home as witnesses to their nuptials.  Palin said that her earrings were a gift from her husband’s Yup’ik Eskimo mother, and the $35 wedding ring from Hawaii she bought herself. “Because with my ring, I always thought, it’s not what it’s made of, it’s what it represents.”  (more…)

Karl Rove understands the magnitude of Sarah Palin’s political potential.  He knows the effect her declaration of candidacy would have on the GOP lineup.  That’s why he’s desperately trying to get her to make a declaration of candidacy on HIS terms and not hers.  Last night, on Greta Van Susteren’s ‘On The Record’, he advised Palin to…”Grow  thicker skin.”

(TheTigrrrrExpress)…(h/t AFinch).  The left needed to destroy her since they despise minority conservatives, especially religious ones to the right on social issues. Yet Sarah Palin did not lose the election for the GOP in 2008. Lehman Brothers burned. She was a jolt of energy to the ticket.  In a very roundabout way, Governor Palin played a small role in my current success. She was supposed to be the keynote speaker at a major Republican Women’s function at the Reagan Library. She was unable to attend, creating a speaking slot. The original emcee became the keynote speaker and I was given 15 minutes. That speech launched my speaking career, since speaking at the Reagan Library captures conservative attention nationwide.  Yet despite speaking all over the country and meeting many politicos, I had never met her. She is kept on lockdown due to the many threats she gets from deranged leftists who despise a woman they have never met. I have never been to Alaska, but thankfully she came to Iowa. (more…)

Arizona’s Senator John McCain is a time tested war hero. He has seen more than his share of horror on the battle field. You would think that with his experiences he would have preserved his killer instincts for the  political battle field. Something has happened though and he seems to want to compromise at every corner and throw in the towel with every fight. Raising the debt ceiling was his latest surrender. He told us if we did not raise it disaster would come. He voted to raise it and disaster has come anyway. It just seems like there is no more fight in him to do the right thing. (more…)

Shortly after noon yesterday, the big “One Nation” bus rolled up to Ronald Reagan’s boyhood home in Dixon, Illinois.  Reagan would have turned 100 this year, and were he still alive, I believe he would have adored Sarah Palin’s convictions, her faith, and her love for our country.  It’s actually quite sad to think that this state, once known for giving us men like Lincoln and Reagan, can today be noted more for Chicago-style politics and President Food Stamps.  Reagan once said, when asked about his alma mater Eureka College, “The most valuable lesson I learned at Eureka is that every individual makes a difference.”  I think this is a statement Sarah Palin has taken well to heart, believing she is an instrument God is using to give us a choice.  America…we must choose well in 2012, as it may be our last.
