As President Barack Obama’s signature Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act enters the all-important sign-up phase next week, the president finds himself with some of the lowest approval ratings of his presidency even as Republicans in an unpopular Congress maneuver to block the health-care legislation from taking effect.
A Reuters-Ipsos poll of 1,729 Americans taken Sept. 20-24 found only 39 percent of those surveyed approve of the job Obama is doing as president, while 55 percent disapprove.

The Reuters-Ipsos poll found that 22 percent of those responding thought the country was headed in the right direction, while 64 percent thought it was on the wrong track. (link)

This is well worth 9 minutes of your time. Mark Levin talks to Jake Tapper on CNN:
The insufferable belief that WE THE PEOPLE are stupid reins supreme in the mindset of these idiots who fail to grasp that an engaged electorate accurately understand what they have done.

No Senator, we are not stupid. You voted to allow “cloture” on the Senate Bill which allowed the Democrats to strip out the defunding mechanism with a simple majority. We are NOT fooled.
You did not vote to defund Obamacare, you voted to allow the continuing resolution -which funded Obamacare- to advance with a 51 vote threshold.
You are the worst kind of politician; the kind who think We are Stupid.
Lindsey Graham is up for re-election in this cycle. South Carolina please primary him OUT !

WASHINGTON — The Senate on Friday passed a resolution that would fund the government through Nov. 15 and provide funding for Obamacare.
One week ago, the House passed a government funding bill that funded the government through Dec. 15 and defunded Obamacare. Over the vocal and longwinded — 21 hours and 19 minutes to be exact — objections of Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, a majority of senators voted to amend the House bill to include funding for the health-care plan, set to be implemented next week. (more…)
FROM THIS DAY
I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from this day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it; And they will….
The following Republican Senators voted to “approve” cloture for Senate Leader Harry Reid. Approving cloture meant the construct of the Senate Bill could be passed with a simple majority (51 votes).

Alexander (R-TN)
Ayotte (R-NH)
Barrasso (R-WY)

The piece is about doctors “fleeing New Jersey”…. the comments cover the reality that we will have from sea to shining sea. This is NOT about New Jersey. This is your immediate future.

I’m a physician, and what is not being reported are the number of physicians fleeing medicine all together. Our most experienced oncologist at this hospital just announced his retirement as of January 1st. He’s 52. The cardiology group will stop seeing hospital patients, general surgeons not taking ER call, neurologists are longer performing EMGs, and I could go on for pages. My group is the third biggest group in the country in my specialty. We experienced 26% GROWTH this past year and our revenue was DOWN 17% from the previous year. There are even more draconian cuts coming in January. MOST of my specialty will be forced to close their practice permanently as they will lose money with every patient they see. You cannot make that up on volume. This means there will be hospitals that will literally have to stop all patient care activities as no department in the hospital can function, by law, without my specialty.
As bad as anyone THOUGHT Obamacare MIGHT be, it will be FAR, FAR WORSE. I stated years ago that this might be the single most destructive piece of legislation in the history of the world as it will simultaneously with a single pen stroke destroy the economy, destroy the best health care system ever seen, and put more people into the unemployment line than we’ve ever seen before.

We’ve often talked about the marked similarity between these trying times and the similarities to the time just prior to the awakening in Poland which spurred the Solidarity Movement.
Indeed, in Poland then, just like in the U.S. now, the media was selling one central planning script yet a divergent reality existed in the street – amid the people.
It took the people of Poland to actually walk into the street and recognize they had been fooled. They thought for years their individual desires for freedom and smaller government put them in the minority. Individually they each believed their government was operating with the consent of the governed. However, they were wrong.
Once the ordinary citizen made the decision to take to the street they recognized their views and perspectives were actually held in the majority. The media was merely selling a guise on behalf of the centralized governing body. (more…)
With all the White House carved out Obamacare exemptions, and strategic delays to Obamacare implementation, how much do you want to bet the delay for all Labor Union impacts is close at hand. Watch.
Sometime.. soon as the fiscal issues are resolved (CR’s issued and debt ceiling raised) there will be a Friday afternoon announcement noting that due to his magnanimous constitution, and out of an abundance of concern for listening to people, and because he is just a wonderful moderate, President Obama will exempt/delay labor unions from Health Insurance plan implementation under Obamacare. Watch.
WASHINGTON DC – U.S. Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia broke ranks with fellow Democrats and said he’d support a stopgap spending plan that delays the individual mandate in President Barack Obama’s health-care law.
“There’s no way I could not vote for it,” Manchin said at a Bloomberg Government breakfast today. “It’s very reasonable and sensible.”
The individual mandate is the linchpin of the law that requires most Americans to purchase health care through government-run insurance exchanges. Republicans, led by a group of newcomers in the House, are pushing to dismantle the health-care law and are using a ticking clock on a possible Oct. 1 government shutdown as leverage. (more…)
Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX) — the top two Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate — announced yesterday that they will support “cloture” on the government funding bill, giving Harry Reid and the Democrats a procedural green light to fund Obamacare with only 50 votes. […] We knew Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn weren’t with us when they voted to fund Obamacare earlier this year. But then, under pressure from grassroots, they said they supported the effort to defund it. They even ran political ads in their home states to make voters think they were on their side.
But now, faced with the prospect of having to fight for the things they claim to believe, these Senate leaders have surrendered.
Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn have surrendered to Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and the Democrats. More importantly, they have surrendered to Obamacare — the biggest job killer in America. (link to do something about it)
It’s not an official Senate filibuster, because Harry Reid is using a procedural rules trick to strip the Obamacare defunding segment from the House Bill. Ted Cruz is vowing to speak as long as possible to stop the “cloture” vote.
The “Cloture Vote”, is a pre-vote of sorts to enable Harry Reid to remove the Obamacare aspect with a simple 51 votes – Which Harry Reid has with Democrats alone.
Therefore anyone who votes for cloture is actually voting to support the Harry Reid process, and voting to support, ie. fund, Obamacare.
This is where the Decepticons in the Republican ranks will show their manipulative faces. They will vote for “cloture”, which relies on Republican support because the threshold is 61 votes affirming, then turn around and vote against the bill’s passage because their votes are not needed because the threshold drops to 51 votes (a simple majority) to pass.
So the Decepticons like Mitch McConnell will vote for cloture, then vote against the bill, and return to their campaign base claiming they voted against the bill. The truth is they voted to support the bill, then voted against it only because after cloture it will pass without their support. (more…)
Methinks the crew deeply seated in the tall Corinthian leather wingbacks have decided to take down another Senate Conservative. These are the same ‘pinky off the rocks glass’ Decepticons who soaked the tip of their Cubans during the discussions to get rid of former Conservative leader Jim DeMint.
