(Via Daily Mirror)  Elite British and US special forces troops are forming a hunter killer unit called Task Force Black – its orders: “Smash the Islamic State.”
The undercover warriors will aim to “cut the head off the snake” by hitting the command structure of the Islamist terror group responsible for a trail of atrocities across Iraq and Syria, reports the Sunday People.
PM David Cameron has told the SAS and UK spy agencies to direct all their ­resources at defeating IS after a video of US journalist James Foley being beheaded shocked the world.
British special forces will work with America’s Delta Force and Seal Team 6. The move sees a rebirth of top secret Task Force Black, which helped defeat al-Qaeda terrorists in Iraq .
This time the counter-terrorist ­experts will be targeting Abu Bakr ­al-Baghdadi, leader of IS and now the world’s most wanted terrorist. (more…)

Libya is vitally important for several reasons.  The nation is the gateway between Africa and the Middle East, as well as the primary gate between Africa and Europe.   What happens in Libya has profound consequences for Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
Unreported by the Western media some EU nations -and possibly the U.S.- have been covertly using air strikes to try and stop the assembly forces of the radical islamists.  As we previously shared the Benghazi, Mizrata and Darnah brigades, the Libyan Fighting Groups, have assembled under one banner called “Operation Dawn”.
However, the “mysterious airstrikes” have been futile given the scope of the islamists moving on the ground.   The Tripoli International Airport has been completely destroyed.  Islamist Fighting Groups are now in control of the Capital city.

(ENGLAND) American and British intelligence officials are eyeing a British-born rapper as the militant who beheaded journalist James Foley.

A senior Western intelligence official told Fox News that 23-year-old London rapper Abdel Majed Abdel Bary is the suspect believed to be Foley’s executioner.
U.S. intelligence officials are not commenting publicly on the reports, but a well-placed source told Fox News that Bary’s Egyptian-born father was extradited from London to the United States in 2012 for his alleged connection to Usama bin Laden and the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in Africa.
Bary traveled to Syria last year to fight with  ISIS, the source said.

The Sunday Times and Sunday People identified Bary as a member of a group of at least three British-born ISIS fighters known among former hostages as “The Beatles.” (more)

“I think, again, what the president made clear at the time of the Guantanamo transfer was that his commitment to the men and women that serve overseas is a bedrock one, that we will leave no man or woman behind. (Via WFB)  The Obama administration violated federal law when it released five senior Taliban leaders from prison without notifying Congress, as is legally mandated, according to an investigation by the Government Accountability Office (GAO).

The GAO concluded in a report issued Thursday that the Obama administration failed to provide proper notification of the Taliban release and illegally used taxpayer funds that were not appropriated to enable the inmate transfer, according to the report.
The Obama administration in May secretly struck a deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan to free from the Guantanamo Bay prison camp in Cuba five of its top leaders in exchange for the return of captured U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, who was later accused by fellow soldiers of having deserted the Army prior to his capture. The White House leaked it.
Why ? Because they were petrified of the political optics of contrast. The Obama administration had just used the excuse, “by any means possible” to trade the release of the Gitmo5 terrorists for Private Bergdahl. The White House understood the optic of an American hostage being killed as retaliation for military strikes against ISIL as a risk of the newly created Obama reality – negotiating with terrorists.
The White House leaked the rescue effort in a feeble attempt to show they did try something.

So the White house compromised a covert operation for political cover and gain. It’s how the McDonough team work. The only risk they worry about is the political risk of how it makes them look. All politics all the time. Period.

IRAQ – A new video posted online Tuesday purportedly shows Islamic State militants beheading an American journalist.
The nearly five minute video, titled “A Message to America,” depicts a man believed to be missing photojournalist James Foley being beheaded by a militant.

The video opens with a message from the Islamic State, attacking President Barack Obama for recently directing airstrikes against the terror group.
“Obama authorizes military operations against the Islamic State effectively placing America upon a slippery slope towards a new war front against Muslims,” the video said.
Then the shot pans over to Foley, who speaks into the camera.
“I call on my friends, family and loved ones to rise up against my real killers: the U.S. government,” Foley said in the video. (more…)

(Via CNN NEWS) Kurdish forces fired mortars and explosives at extremist militants Sunday as the battle to retake a strategic dam in northern Iraq raged on.

Fighters for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria set up high powered explosives around buildings and detonated them, Kurdish Intelligence chief Masrour Barzani said.

Kurdish forces fought back, sparking clashes. Smoke could be seen rising in the distance.

ISIS, the extremist militant group that calls itself the Islamic State, seized the strategic Mosul Dam this month.

U.S. warplanes joined the effort to retake the dam amid growing concern it is not maintained and could rupture, a U.S. official told CNN. (more…)
