CNN waited four days to put the Erin Burnett interview with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on video. The videos were uploaded last evening, and the full interview is in two parts. The first segment is a discussion of U.S. politics and U.S. foreign policy with the Egyptian President:
After a brief manhunt and a shootout with police, an Afghanistan immigrant named Ahmad Khan Rahami has been arrested. He is suspected to be the bomber in the recent New Jersey and New York attacks.
Two police officer were wounded in the shootout with Rahami in Linden, New Jersey. The mayor of the nearby city of Elizabeth said: one officer’s vest was struck, and the other was shot in the hand. Thankfully both will recover.

Donald Trump has released the following statement regarding the latest terrorist attacks on U.S. soil. New York, New Jersey and Minnesota:
“In the past 48 hours, our law enforcement showed again that, without them, our country is neither safe nor secure. I am grateful for the quick action of law enforcement in capturing the terrorist responsible for Saturday’s bombings, and the off-duty police officer for stopping the terrorist in Minnesota. UPDATE 1:30am – Explosion in New Jersey terminal while bomb squad robot was inspecting a backpack containing “numerous devices”. It was NOT a controlled detonation. Thankfully no-one was hurt, area previously evacuated.

According to New York Senator Marty Golden, media and eye witnesses, five men dressed in Arab garb have been stopped, and detained, by the FBI.
FBI took several individuals into custody on the Belt Parkway in the area underneath the Verrazano Bridge, with a possible connection to the bombing last night in Chelsea (link)
Eyewitnesses report several NYPD officers in swat gear armed with rifles had a vehicle stopped on the Belt Parkway.
Five men were then taken in custody after the FBI called for NYPD backup. The men were believed to be headed to the airport, The New York Post reported.

Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson appeared on CNN at 11:30 this morning to discuss current events including last nights’ bombing in New York (Chelsea), and the Jihadist stabbing in Minnesota.
29 people were wounded in the New York bomb blast, and 9 people were injured in the stabbing attack. However, apparently no-one told Gary Johnson – as he remarked:
…”well, first of all, just grateful that no-body, er, got hurt”…

EGYPT – President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi is expected to meet US republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on the sidelines of his visit to New York, state news agency MENA reported.
Al-Sisi will arrive in New York on Sunday afternoon to attend the 71st debate of the United Nations (UN) general assembly.

Minnesota – A knife-wielding man who injured eight people at a mall in central Minnesota Saturday evening asked at least one victim whether they were Muslim and referenced Allah during the assault, authorities said Wednesday.
St. Cloud Police Chief William Blair Anderson said the suspect, whom he did not identify, was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer. All but one of the eight victims had been treated and released from a local hospital and all were expected to survive their injuries.
Police responded reports of several stabbings at the Crossroads Mall at around 8:30 p.m. local time. Witnesses also reported hearing gunshots at the scene. (more…)
Stunning is an understatement. This is beyond absurd. There has been a tenuous cease-fire in Syria for the past 4 days, negotiated by Russia, between Bashir Assad’s Syrian Army and the militant fighters in the Islamic State (ISIS).
Today, the United States has broken the cease-fire; not Syria, not ISIS – the U.S. broke the cease-fire, and actually attacked Syrian ground troops. U.S. Centcom commanders are now admitting they made a “mistake”.
A mistake? …that accidentally assists ISIS.
(Via Fox News) The U.S. military halted an air raid against the Islamic State terror group in eastern Syria on Saturday after learning it struck a Syrian military unit by mistake, a U.S. Central Command official confirmed to Fox News.
The official said the U.S. military was “certain” about the outcome of the strike. Officials had been watching these forces “for a few days” thinking they were ISIS.
Syria and Russia said the U.S.-led coalition had struck a Syrian military base in Deir el-Zour that was surrounded by ISIS fighters, enabling them to advance. The U.S. is not known to have directly struck Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces at any point during the five-year civil war. (more…)
